- warrior chick + pilot (i'm bad with names, alright?)
- jayne + random hookers/sluts
river doesn't pair up with anyone, she's psychologically scarred and no relationship with mal or jayne could possibly work. as long as she's on that ship she will stay alone and maybe that's for the best.
^ is what i took from the show, ask joss whedon if there's a river/mal thing, i doubt he'd take the suggestion seriously after he worked so hard to establish mal+inara.
I got a strong feeling that Joss was pushing Mal and River together when I saw the BDM. In one of the extras on the collectors edition, Nathan even said that he thought that Mal and River had the most in common of all the characters. So many clues along the way. Oh what could have been. I think you could have made this video with genuine moments from the tv series and the BDM. I don't think you needed the fake shots. An enjoyable video, nonetheless. Thank you!
The description doesn't match the show situation. Mal has feelings for Inara (and vice versa), who (Inara), interestingly, is dying of a terminal illness (Morena Baccarin, who plays Inara, has confirmed this), so Mal's feelings toward Inara may be based on sympathy. Plus at the time of the series, Mal is 49, River is 17, and I don't think the show's setting featured a Renaissance social culture.

Mal loves Inara. Only in someones wierd fantasy world could he and River be an item. Since your a chick....... I figure that explains this stretch of logic and reason.
I don't know that I can suspend my disbelief to think that Mal would leave all his crew behind, he cares about all of them like family. Otherwise though, I thought this was a great Mal/River video. fabulous job with the editing to make it all seem to fit together as though it were really in sync with the show. Faved and Five-Stared. :)
It is an interesting scenario but Mal loved River in the same way he loved Kaylee, like a little sister. His love was the companion, she set his heart on fire and set his head spinning. He told her so more than once. Inara Sara was his love, just as was pointed out in the movie.
Oh my gods, I love you! I only recently even thought about the whole mal/river thing, but this... this is beautifully done!

This is very well done. Could you please tell me how you took the footage of Firefly and Serenity in order to edit it? Thank you
Good job

I have to agree, I mean we all ship the ones we want. Besides, his morality couldn't agree with leaving them behind. Especially as they're his crew.
