i saw them at the philly spectrum in the late seventies- graham parker and the rumour opened- THEY SLAYED! best live show other than floyd or the who......

I was at that show too! WMMR said on a scale of 1 to 100 it was a 98, and Van Halen was a 99, as the two best concerts of the year. A couple years later I saw Van Halen, and they couldn't match the intensity of that Philly concert by Cheap Trick. I'll never see another show like that, and the Spectrum will soon be torn down. It held a lot of great memories for me, as did JFK Stadium.

Yeah, thats the dr jekyll & mr hyde known as Cheap Trick. One minute they're doing a sweet flowery ballad, and the next tune they want to chop you face off!!

I saw Cheap Trick do this song (with Billy Corgan guesting on guitar! )at Drink Chicago 1999! BC got to sing, too, and I quote:"there are many here among us, who feel that life's but a joke....."

The rythm in this recording of the song is absolutely amazing. Drummer Bun E. Carlos deliberately lags at times, as if knowing the band members will keep tempo. The bands energy level is very high.

There's a live version of this song they did with the Smashing Pumpkins during the 90s that is a little faster tempo and is fantastic
