@TheLegitShitt If you want to primarily mount it to the vehicle, get the Motor Sport. If you want to mount it to your head and/or helmet primarily, get the Outdoor. The camera is identical, it's just a question of mounts.

@SkithusProductions The Hero 2 is new enough that the price probably won't drop until toward the end of the year. The Hero 1 and Contour are both good cameras for the money. You'll probably be happy with either of them. Hope that helps.

I would love the gopro but there are 2 things that i dont like. 1.the look 2.the price.I got the contour HD for christmas ($130 btw) and it is amazing. you cant compare 1080p and 1080p. another thing is that on the contour you can change the mic sensitvity,exposure,metering,a­nd so on. so if you get the right settings for certain conditions it would kill the gopro. not to mention the looks :D

You can plug the Contour into your computer and turn the record volume up. Then it's fine. The Contour also wins when recording at night and dealing with sun glare. Don't trust videos you see on you tube. I've used both cameras and they both work great.

@WTFremixer Saw a review from some guys from Gizmo, they said their videos go through a ton of post production such as color adjustments and image stabilization. Honestly that explains it all. Those idiots should put a disclaimer of how the videos and images have been altered and are in not in raw format. Better yet, make videos without messing with colors and such, and THEN boast about their camera. Silly of any consumer to think such capabilities could come from such a small device.

@Jonas104 I don't know about the post of their videos, however you can clearly see the conditions the videos where filmed - mostly sunset/sunrise - which is a prefered setting for any camera.. none of the videos gopro shows include high dynamic range like going through woods where very bright areas mix with shaddows - which is a pain in the ass even for my hdr-fx1. so first of all, i would blame the perfect conditions chosen... but that's understandable - after all it's a comercial...

the biggest difference between the Hero and Hero2 are the frame rates, at 1080p the Hero only pulls 30 frames a second where the Hero2 gets a beautiful 60.

hero 2 price is ridiculous for what it does. the contour roam is just as good and its $100 dollars cheaper. you can barely tell the difference in video quality between the hero2 and the ROAM especially not enough to justify a $100 difference. if you really need 60p and 8mp photos go for it. I would never pay $300 for a pov/pocket camera when there are tons of cheaper options with just a good if not better quality.

@BadassRetard my opinion is because of the weight...gopro is very light (plastic) so it's inertia is smaller...on the other hand I heard the Roam has metal housing, which I believe makes the camera weigh more, making it a little bit heavy to mount and stabilize it in the helmet during motion (bigger inertia)...

When doing a comparison you should have either two or three of the cameras recording the same footage under the same conditions at the same time.

Also, no one is interested in the Contour for it has no place in this comparison.

If you're going to compare the HDH1 and HDH2, please use the 3D case and record with both cameras in the bike trails, rain, night, sunny day, cloudy day and do a split screen video.

Isn't 00:35-00:51 the exact same footage used a ling time ago for a GoPro 1 promotional video? I think they just used some old footage and computer edited it to make it look better. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I saw that clip last year or something. Not sure about the rest of the clips though.

@JogiJacob it's the identical housing and all old accessories are still compatible...but anyway the flat lenses you mention are not that good either. we must only hope for a better version of gopro...

@JogiJacob The GoPros have a underwater housing that can go 180 feet. This housing is built with a round, wide angle lens cover which causes the light to become out of focus when underwater. GoPro has yet to fix the problem by making their own product but there are flat lenses for sale that fixes the underwater focus problem. Hope this helps!

I'd recommend that you upload with a different format. My guess is this is an avi format. If you upload using a wmp full 1080 upload your footage would look 100% better....or the best setting for a mov upload (quicktime format). Just a suggestion, but my gopro footage looks amazing using better rendering formats.

In what mode you were setting Hero1 and Hero2 ?? Hero1 has only 120 degree angle in 1080p (R5 mode).

@Interleap The Hero 1 and Hero 2 were placed side by side in GoPro's 3D mount, which is why they're almost the exact same perspective. The Hero 2 has a wider angle, however, and colors are more saturated.
