@pinkmums Know what you mean. Music can be so evocative. This always reminds me of Saturday nights and an old brit guy who used to live in the apartment upstairs. Regular as clockwork he'd have this hooker, Stacia, come round weekends and she'd throw cookies called 'custard creams' at him while he stood naked in a tin bath while this played on repeat. Kinda drove me nuts sometimes but reminds me of happier times.

I've been a fan of John Barry since I was a kid and grew up with his music. He definitely has his own style, but WHAT a style! He's a remarkable composer. As for film composition, I think my top three are Barry, the late Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams... but it would be very hard to pick between them. :-)

Rich music from an era that was spiritually rich. I was lucky enough to grow up in the sixties when people had less materially but even the commercials had quality and space - unlike the loud, in-your-face, jarring media of today. Real talent, like John Barry, was allowed to prevail back then whereas today we are directed to idolise talentless 'celebrities' and endure cacophonous tv ads intent on 'dumbing us down'. Life is louder and faster now, but less productive and without real substance.

I adore this song so much it's like a rich dessert covered in cream. It was used as music to advertise Sunsilk Shampoo in the UK for women. When I heard the full version I just fell inlove with it. It has a melancholy tone with a wistful air and is just beautiful - thank you for this. xx

Yes Hideo Kojima uses this song for Sunny's humming during MGS4, Hideo Kojima is known to add something about Hollywood in his productions/games.

I used to listen to this on John Barry's "Greatest Hits" Album whilst studying somewhere in the early 1970s. It was transcendent then - the orchestration & feeling matches any and all. And the subject is ....? Forget it. John Barry has always been one of a kind and more.

Sunsilk.. what an awesome melody... and arrangement.. Goldfinger .. bond.. so so evocative of the 60's and early 1970's. as a writer and composer John Bary was up there with Beethoven et al. Mking THE most of the technology of the time to make MUSIC with such feeling.

This must be the most wasted piece of music ever composed. It is worthy of a James Bond film, but John Barry actually wrote it for a 1967 Sunsilk Shampoo advertisement on ITV. Unfortunately it predated home video recorders, so nobody has put the actual ad on Youtube. I wonder whether anyone captured it with a cine camera? As I remember, it was beautifully filmed, and suited the music perfectly.
