  • I'm from scotland, and I love the uk show obviously :)

But the US one is in its own right amazing.

    so

STFU AND WATCH THE SHOW OR GTFO

  • no one can play fiona better than emmy rossum

  • i get that skins US wasn't good but that doesn't automatically mean that all US remakes are shit. Shameless US is fucking awesome and if you say it sucks, then you probably haven't taken the time to actually watch it

  • all the awards to Emmy Rossum

  • She deserves a FREAKING OSCAR for this scene! I love this show, powerful, powerful scene!

  • Im from ireland, and i much more prefur the US version.

In the uk version, fiona leaves and dosent come back. she also gets preggers with someone elses kid- Ian leaves mikey for a girl! mandy dies. Frank is still an ass.

I much more prefur the us version.

  • sorry to all the Americans and i know im not the only person to say this and yes it might be good and you might enjoy but... i have seen the USA version... im British and it really doesnt have anything on the original UK version, it should never have even been remade by anyone else. the USA version will never have that unique shine.

  • Fiona was kinda self-congratulatory here. To me, she was saying that everything was thanks to her. First she says what a great job she did, then, just because the little kids want their mom back, she's going to leave because she feels underappreciated? I don't know, not one of Fiona's best moments.

I can see that some people hate all the comparisons, but Anne-Marie Duff>Emmy Rossum just because Anne-Marie had a much sweeter, more generous presence.

  • @hipnhappenin Everything was thanks to her, though. She became their mother when Monica split... maybe even before that too, because Frank and Monica weren't fit. They still aren't, even when Monica comes back and she can't do anything right. Especially in the scene in the morning, before school. Don't you think you'd feel that way too if you were in Fiona's shoes? Fiona, Lip, and Ian all hate Monica for abandoning them. It makes sense for them to feel this way. Fiona's just giving up.

  • @hipnhappenin

I don't want a sweeter, more generous presence. I want a strong presence, and here Fiona is strong in her vulnerability. Fiona's a kid, she feels underappreciated after all the crap she puts into the family, she threw a fit and stormed off. But she didn't abandon the family, she was right next door, listening in on a baby monitor. This is one of her best moments.

  • This should have been the season finale.

  • I'm from the UK, and LOVE skins UK, HATED skins USA, but something strange happened.

I HATE SHAMELESS UK, BUT LOVE SHAMELESS USA..

    IDK why...

    Weird...

P.s. I think Emmy Rossum has something to do with it :)

  • She did do a fucking great job. They should take the mother to court. Fucking piece of trailer trash. U don't get to come back & pick who ur gonna take when u abounded them all. US version SO much better. Emily is an amazing actress.

  • whoa. Emmy is AWESOME. I seriously underestimated her acting skills.

  • this is some good fuckin actressing

  • why can't people just accept that they're both great shows?

  • I hate Shameless UK, there : I said it. You people should stop complaining cause it doesn't mean that it's been changed that it totally sucks, seriously. The story line is similar but changes in some kind of way, no ? And may I remind you that you freaking copied Jersey Shore to some bullshit called Jordey shore and that it fucking sucks cocks ? Thank you. Get over yourselves, fine America messes up (I'm Canadian anyway), but yo, who doesn't ? You're not going to die over this, Jeez...

  • God this is sad I love this show

  • Holy shit emma is a really good actress...

  • she was nancy in sid and nancy!!

  • I've seriously watched this like 15 times. I can't stop, and I don't want to

  • honestly, it seems that the only reason people are shitting all over this remake is because it's originally a UK show. This scene pretty much PROVES that it's an amazing show unlike the remake of Skins. Emmy definitely deserves an emmy for this.

  • EMMY NEEDS AN EMMY. AND AN OSCAR. AND GRAMMY. AND TONY.

She certainly has the talent to do so.

  • the uk shameless is a similar story? i think ive seen it on the program guide on the sundance channel. maybe i check it out . . em Rossum is too hot

  • Emmy needs to be nominated for some Emmys :)

  • Great show. Great acting.

  • 1:18 is why Emmy needs an Emmy.

  • please just give that girl an award. she's come such a long way since 'Phantom'.

  • @TheCherryBomber1 And 'Genius'

  • Emmy deserves an award for this scene? Which award did you have in mind? Was it... an Emmy?

  • @Eatlimepie Emmy & Emmy, I get it.

  • great show can wait

  • I cried a little

  • @ookami3380 As a homosexual woman and someone who lives for her family, I find your comment to be in rather bad taste.

However, what Monica and Roberta were doing here was completely wrong. Monica left her children; she doesn't deserve to have them back. And to take Liam just because he's black and Roberta is as well is beyond wrong.

  • ALL THE AWARDS

  • Debbie is 10, right? What public school has a debate team for 10-year-olds? (Especially a public school in a crummy part of Chicago.)

  • @fidelio1980 My little cousin is 10 and he is on a debate team albeit the topics aren't as serious or mature as high school or college level debates but nonetheless it is debate.

  • seems good but i also like the original that watched on here

  • 1no one will take anne-marie or james mcavoys place in these series

  • dont care what anyone thinks shameless US is fucking awesome

  • It kills me that liam is black hahah

  • we know about the british version. can people stop comparing the two already. it's getting quite annoying. they're both great and we get that it was originally british. it's like "the book is better than the movie" thing. you'll like the one you saw first because you're used to it. we get that hollywood f***s some things up now give it a rest.

  • It's kind of weird when you expect actors in this show to be really good at making comedy and then you find out they're really good at making drama, too. I think she's such a great actress and this made me melt down.

  • STUPID ASS BITCH! GO TO HELL MONICA! YOU LEFT FIONA TO DEAL WITH THE SHIT! GO FUCK YOUR LESBIAN JACKASS GIRLFRIEND!

  • i teared up watching this episode

  • I just love how a lot of people like to bash on American television as if they don't watch it. -_-

Just shut the fuck up and enjoy the damn video. Sheesh.

  • @BritishBeerDrinker

Yeah, I'm with you. American TV is shit, wish I lived over there. Shameless UK is great. And frankly... much better acting too. @_@

  • This show just got better and better, can't wait for season 2.

  • Wow. Such difference from her performance in Phantom of the Opera. So versatile, Emmy. Actors like her need to be highlighted more.

  • Karl made something blow up, hehe

  • @KeirrHD I love this show, what are you talking about. It's a great show.

  • i LOVE this scene.

  • people in the uk need to calm the fuck down. yeah, we remade skins and it was fucking TERRIBLE. but we remade the office and it's fucking AMAZING and is still on the air. and you know what? we remade shameless and its fucking AWESOME. SO GET OVER IT. we know that shameless was originally a uk show. just shut up. normally i have nothing but love for the uk for making skins and misfits. but all you assholes that are shitting on an awesome remake of shameless is making me want to punch you. gtfo

  • @katiep1125 I do love the American version of shameless, though I haven't seen the UK version so I can't commit about it. I do have to disagree about the American Office. I like the English version better its darker and feels a bit more real. It also knew when to get out. The American version is like a Zombie it doesn't know that its dead.

  • @theChillDude The UK version was great until they started writing out actors moving to new projects instead of recasting them. I seriously hope they keep characters in the US version of shameless.

  • @katiep1125 it really isnt an awesome remake..... yes im English.

  • @BritishBeerDrinker Roses and perfume beats shit and ass smell all day. ;)

  • This gave me the chills, excellent acting from all of them specially Emmy Rossum.

  • @BritishBeerDrinker Like Annaece said you just get 'squeaky clean'. Bring back different strokes and webster. Just can't wait till whoever has the copyright to Happy days gives it up so we can all go see the movie!

  • i hate monica,

     that old bitch!!!

  • @BritishBeerDrinker I live in this American reality. These characters are so similar to my friends and neighbors that I actually feel like I am spying on them.I am happy you live in GB in your own bubble, not here. You probably wouldn't be much help or comfort to anyone in a tough situation.Everyone has problems, question is do you just judge others or lend a shoulder or a hand? The moral of the show is to live the overall time we are here shamelessly.Make it all count for something, regardless.

  • im from england and i liked the uk shameless but now i've seen the USA version i dont think i can watch the uk one again, its chaveyy and lacks emotion but the usa version actually has class and moments like this that are amazing

  • monica is a stupid retard. fucking bitch. abandons her kids and then comes along randomly cos she wants a family with her lesbian partner

  • DEAR YOUTUBE GET RID OF THE VIDEO ADS. IM IN THE MIDDLE OF WATCHING A VIDEO AND 3 VIDEO ADS CAME UP! AND THERE IS NO WAY TO MUTE THE VOLUME.

  • What? Reading the comments, American version is way better. The thing that makes it better is the reality of the single mom (or sister) raising her brothers and sisters. Every character on the show is a HIT! Everyone of them!

  • Can't wait for the new season to start.

  • @BritishBeerDrinker Americans did The Shield not exactly a clean show.

  • always knew emmy could act

  • I fucking hate Frank, he disgust me

    and monica.. DIE BITCH DIE!

  • uk version lodz better and funnyer

  • @becool1871984 learn to spell before you start comparing Uk to US

  • Damn is she good! Award indeed.

  • EMMY NEEDS A FUCKING EMMY!

  • Will Macy, Joan Cusack, and Emmy Rossum deserve emmys, golden globes, and such for their performances. Brilliant Actors!! I just hope this show doesn't go underrated @ this years emmy's. That would be unfortunate

  • they dont look very shameless :P

  • brilliant scene. i loved the amazing performance by emmy. she's an incredible, talented actress.

  • Is the mother the girlfriend of Dani Divitos character in Twins (Monica???)

I like the american version its quite impressive that the US has allowed to show the gritty side of the country. usualy the underclass are swept under the carpet and screened as they worry 'worthy' 'honest' americans will be too distressed or infected by it all. The hollywood glam, shine and plastic is so boring now to the worlds audience. But dont take any show so seriously some of the comments are well harsh.

  • Is the mother the girlfriend of Dani Divitos character in Twins???

I like the american version its quite impressive that the US has allowed to show the gritty side of the country usuall the underclass are swept under the carpet and screened as they worry 'worthy' 'honest' americans will be too distressed or infected by it all. I also like Nurse Jackie. The hollywood glam, shine and plastic is so boring now to the worlds audience and maybe to US people??

  • Is the mother the girlfriend of Dani Divitos character in Twins???

  • God Monica disgust me >.<

  • I'll admit the American version of this show is pretty good but the original version of this scene was so much more effective. While Emmy Rossum here is great, Anne-Marie Duff managed to convey more by barely moving while giving this speech. She was tough and stoic and the most heart-breaking thing was that Fiona never got to yell and break down like she wanted to. She never actually got through to her mother.

  • is anyone else missing the random flute music that would normally get thrown in about now?

  • So i slated this before i'd seen it because i didn't think it would live up to the original UK programme but i'm so glad i gave it a chance. I watched the first two episodes so far and i love it. Although the characters are supposed to be the same and the storylines are along the same lines i think the US version has its own feel to it. I love how the actors in this version make their character their own rather than being exactly the same as the original.

  • Not a patch on the British program.

  • They have massive houses in america, even poor people.

  • @BritishBeerDrinker That's because on TV you only see the 'squeaky clean' that is Hollywood. Trust me a lot of Americans aren't as polished as Hollywood makes them out to be but that's just how the entertainment business is here.

  • Is Mona the 'World of the Psychic' woman from Ghostbusters 2?

  • I'm from England and I just saw the American shameless advertised on TV. Story seems to be the same as ours... it’s very familiar but different too. I'm definitely gonna be giving it a watch. I've watched every season of the original UK version and it looks like the US version is going to air here too which is cool that they chose to do that. But I’m curious...Do many people in America know about the Original Shameless? Has Paul Abott received any credit? Does America get both versions too?

  • @pixelisedgamer Original Shameless is known very little over here in the states. I think the original Shameless runs on a network called Sundance or something along those lines but I've never heard anyone mention that network. As for Paul getting credit, lol are you kidding? Of course! He's an executive producer of the show :)

  • @pixelisedgamer we don't get both verisons, it only shows the us shameless on showtime. i watch the uk shameless on the ineternet lol,.. i wish they aired both over here.

  • @pixelisedgamer is there a UK version of Dead Like Me?

  • amazing show and amazing moment love emmy

  • This scene alone solidified the show as my all time legendary TV show! Whatever questions I had about this being one of my favorite shows were laid to rest by pitch perfect writing, acting, directing, editing, and eveyrthing else about this single scene! This is as good as any Oscar calibre movie could be! I really hope this sweeps the Emmys because this first season especially the final episodes of the season like this one were just incredibly perfect television! Long live the Gallaghers! <3

  • I cryed from when she said "your my mother too"

  • Not as much emotion as the UK version. This really is watered down. The kids go to science fares.

  • Comment removed

  • EMMY DESERVES AN EMMY!

  • ALL THE AWARDS

  • such a good scene, makes me cry :( great job by emmy for sure

  • the mom should've stayed and dumped her lover.

  • Emmy was INCREDIBLE here. I literally bawled my way through the whole scene.

  • Emme Rossum fuckin deserves an Emmy :/ I'd vote for her, srsly.

  • "You were my mother too!" Breaks my heart every time I hear it.

  • Lol. "Shut up, Frank!" and Frank just sits down. No backbone at all. He totally deserves it though and so does Monica. I freakin' love this scene.

  • there you go, there's the talent we all know and love!

  • "YOU WERE MY MOTHER TOO!"

    Most heartbreaking line.

    </3

  • This scene was heartbreaking! The reaction on Debbies face when Fiona leave...ugh

  • dude... the mom sucks at acting..

she cant even do a fake cry

  • I knew Emmy Rossum could act but, wow! Had no idea she was THAT good. If this show wasn't so, um... unconventional she'd be a front runner for the emmys. I hope she wins, or at least gets a nod.

  • EMMY YOU FUCKING ROCK!!!

  • Wow, I know its all just acting, but I still wouldn't wanna be in that room...

  • so natural.its not forced at all. like shes actually feeling all of it. incredible

  • Amazing scene from Emmy what I like about it is that the characters didn't forgive there mom for leaving on them quickly like in the uk series in the us series it more heart felt emotion drama best proformence ever from Emmy

  • This whole episode was brilliantly done. It felt like a season finale. And Emmy deserves an Emmy!

I also like Lip in this scene. "Out of the FUCKING question, Roberta!" Lol.

  • Loved this scene... who is the actress playing Monica?

  • @ProfQ Chloe Webb.

  • So what the mom just doesn't give a fuck about Ian and lip?

  • @MegaDeejay16 The mom doesn't give a fuck about any of them :\

  • @Annaece Well except maybe Liam

  • Emmy was flawless in this episode.

  • I was in tears watching this the other night for a couple of reasons. For one, Emmy really tears at the heart and makes this scene so believable and real. Second, I have always know how good an actress she is and could be. She has had hints of greatness all season, but Sunday night finally saw her do the best work of her fourteen year career. She better get awards for this. Bravo, Emmy!

  • watching this for the second time tonight. i keep thinking back to when she YELLS at her mother. you go, Fiona! <3

  • I dnt think it was acted dis good in the UK version

  • @Arod10451 It wasn't. I mean it was good, but Emmy really nails it here and is more heartbreaking than Ann-Marie Duff, who I think is a very good actor, was in the scene and the part,

  • Amazing performence from Emmy !!!

  • @summersandwind i totally agree. emmy rossum is amazing as fiiona and the whole cast are great actors! hard to come by
