Stunning work/play. Gershwin such a treasure trove of harmonies that came out of that guys head. Or he was the best adaptive thief in the world. (Hindemith, Ravel) No matter your playing is something to aspire to.
My knowledge of musical history is not nearly as good as it should be so I had to do a bit of background reserch using Wiki lol - but there were some quotes I remember now, such as Ravel's quote 'Why be a second rate Ravel when you can be a first rate Gershwin' or something like that. I also used to listen to a lot of Ravels music as a teenager. Sometime I'll get to listen to more Hindemith as well.
@uranus2001 Thanks. I deliberately strayed away from the grade 8 version in a few notes as there are several versions of this piece.
I'm certainly looking forward to hearing you playing this. You have a remarkable talent - certainly at 10. I'm sure you will do very well in your grade 8 exam.
Don´t know why I missed this, but man... you make this look so easy and sound so beautiful. I don´t know why, but normally this is not the kind of music I would put on my stereo (not that I don´t like classical music, I like almost all genres) but seeing and hearing you play (I wonder if it´s also because of your cool videodesigns) make me sit down and just listen and watch. Times and times again.... For me your definition and interpretation of classical classics, makes them current some how.
@elek3ctii Cheers my friend & for your continued support. No worries about missing the vid, - happens to me a lot with YouTube. Oh btw apologies - looks like I spelt your screen name wrong (again) on my last comment. I MUST get it right ;-) Thanks for the great comments & looking forward to more great vids from you.
@Hodgeinator55 Cheers. I'm thinking we should do a video edit of you playing one or two of your favourite pieces & put them onto your channel as well - maybe the Chopin C minor and others that you play well.
Also - do check out chessdudes vids when you have the time. One of my future vids will be promoting acts such as elec3tii (still not sure if I got the spelling correct), wizie01, composer001, christopherlangdown, chessdude67 and others (permitting of course). Might have a slot for you also.
I'll be passing the URL on to a pupil of mine. Thanks a lot for the sensitive playing. Nice sound too.
