  • Simple yet elegant...

  • Singapore Girl, you truly are a great way to fly! These ads just keeps getting better!

  • NO Aliiance is worth Singapore Airlines!

  • Slut sq girl

  • You guys got it wrong. Many Singapore girls are either Indonesians or Malaysians, more of the former.

  • @Ghotika168 well sadly now yes, but if I am not wrong they are still trying their best to keep it majority singaporean cos' my aunt it actuallly a singapore girl as well. :)

  • i can just watch this commercial over and over and over again till infinity times and never get tired of watching! :D

  • Anyone know the name of the soundtrack?

  • ahhh. i have my memory of this singapore girl i saw on my flight from singapore to brisbane <3

  • i think Singapore Airlines is THEBESTTTT !!! and This is THEBESTT !! add everr thanx 4 posting :)

  • I got paid to be in the background for the figure skating part because i used to be a figure skater

  • I got paid to be in the background for the figure skating part because i used to be a figure skater

  • Star Alliance isn't worth Singapore Airlines!!!!!!

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 u know SAA really sucks i went on it and can u belive it? there is poop on da plane wat kinda of airline is that! SAA does not deserve Star Ailliance

  • @as97ir You only flew on SAA once? Then you can't judge an airline. If you fly on it once and its bad doesn't mean the whole airline is bad.

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 ok but dont say dat sq is bad ive been on sq a few times and it was good and i went on SAA like 3 yrs ago ..... but i hope SAA becomes better and WHY ARE THESE AIRLINES RETIREING ALL OF THEIR 747s !!!!! o_0

  • @as97 At least SAA is bringing some 747s back.

But I meant SQ is much better than most other airlines in the Star Alliance fleet.

    Ergo: Star isn't worth SQ

So I meant SQ is one of the best!

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 :( sorry now i <3 SAA too ........ i really love the 747s i am soo sad that SIA is retireing their 747s but some will stay in their fleet until 2011 or 2012.... but i am happy dat SAA is keeping their 747 traditon

  • @as97ir Thats OK. Qantas is keeping them until 2013, so I'll get to fly it until 2013 (Qantas use them for flights to JNB)! but I hope they will see the light and buy the 747-8i. And they are getting the 787 to replace their 767s. -__-.

    IF IT AIN'T BOEING I AIN'T GOING!

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 well will they retire their 747-438ER also ? But i hope SIA,SAA,and other gud airline on earth buy 748 to keep the tradition.

  • @as97ir Yup, all of them. It sucks. And they will replace them with the A380 and another yet unknown aircraft (777-300ER, 747-8i, 787-9, A350) so hopefully they will at least get some new Boeings.

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 i think SAA is goin for an all Airbus fleet i mean like wide bodied Airbus. I hope dat does not happen! and i like SAA's livery SPIRIT OF AFRICA !!!! world cup! and SIA is like luxourios and asian together.

  • @as97ir SAA is going for a all Airbus fleet, the 747s are just a fill-in.

    They are getting A330s.

    -_-

I'm so disappointed, I'm thinking of changing my account name.

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 do u like QANTAS? its a nice airline

  • @as97ir I always fly Qantas when I fly between Johannesburg ans Sydney and then on to Melbourne, its more convenient than SAA to Perth and then to Melbourne...

  • okayokay... ENOUGH.

how to tell who and who is right? EASY

Singapore Airlines was voted #1 before and in 2010 it's #2 and #1 is Asiana Airlines of Korea. honestly the only thing they have extra is the touch screen which is completely useless and I'd personally rather the controller.

anyway SIA has been continuously in the top #3 no MATTER what, so stop arguing, it's just the truth

  • @StrawhatxLuffy

    Agreed!

  • baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I love SIA Ads.......

  • i love the music it simbolisis peace and culture and also cabin crew

  • SQ girls find pride in working for such a great airline company. They honor and embrace the SQ girl image......she is more than a flight attendant.....she is the face of Singapore and every SQ girl is proud to wear the famous Kebaya....so NO, this is not sexist or discriminatory......

  • I think the message has gotten lost in all that sexist/feminist/discrimination rancour. I personally think this ad simply serves to show the warmth, attentiveness and exquisitely high levels of service one can expect from flying with SIA. With an excellent service record, fantastic service from the cabin crew (both male and female), Singapore Airlines is indeed a great way to fly! I'd fly no other airline but SIA! Well done Singapore Airlines!

  • @alexwilliams84 Well, I had been flying the SQ for so long and so many times. But , we tend to sing sweet praises for local SIA SQ, but try the other arilines, the service is also as good. Thai, Cathay pacific example..........Kindly also regard, many a times for the cabin crew, they are more attentive only to expats and deemed local whom are supporting own counrey airline as second class passangers. Majority see it this way, and I had seen enough of that...!

  • @emptiness2holiness

I'm sorry but I completely disagree with your POV. It has been my experience that the Singapore Girls treat passengers equally and with professional dedication. I've flown Cathay Pacific before as well but between the two, I must say I do prefer Singapore Airlines, a truly great way to fly! Maybe you should have contacted Singapore Airlines and tell them about your experience. Personally, there's no other airline I'd rather fly.

  • Yuuhidokka. Have you ever flown Singapore Airlines? I doubt it. I have flown three round trips from JFK to Phuket Thailand and my view is perhaps a little more informed than yours. The Singapore flight attendants are the consummate professionals:bright, efficient, poised and multi-lingual. You are way out-of-line with your comments.

  • octoberskies33: Agree. But isn't that what the general public likes? SIA merely peddles an idea of women that the public likes - demure, obedient (prolly brainless too). Sadly enough, the SIA Girls' endearing popularity goes to tell the society's mindset in general and that sexism and inequality are still far from being balanced out as some people are deluded enough to believe.

  • @SporeIsGreat

For someone who accused another of being a moron, you fail to understand my criticisms are not directed at the SIA stewardesses themselves, as in I'm not calling them "brainless".

  • @SporeIsGreat Before you point a negative finger at western women (who the majority aren't fat, but you don't know that because you stereotype) think about Asian women. Are you saying every Asian woman is charming? Beautiful? Are you saying that western women aren't as good as Asian women? Does it seem abit racist to you??

  • @cookiecave1283

I do not usually weigh in on a dualistic dispute such as this one but I think your comparison of Singapore and the UK in terms of their OIympic involvement is very unfair. For one, the UK is nearly 400 times larger than Singapore in terms of geographical size - but for Singapore's geographical limitations, given their marvellous history, I've no doubt that they'll host a Summer Olympics that is just as impressive as any hosted thus far.

  • @cookiecave1283

Personally, given my experiences with Singapore Airlines and other airlines (including numerous Western ones) thus far, I must say SIA does live up to its branding slogan - by being a really great way to fly.

  • SIA Crew are intelligent, graceful and engaging people. Like BA crew they are marvelous Ambassadors for their country´s. They are how all crew should be and how all crew should be measured against.

  • this is sad. what sexist roles SIA gives women.

  • These ¨Girl´s ¨ are intelligent, graceful, professional and engaging people...and Like BA crew are fantastic Ambassadors for their country. What would you prefer to see Ryanair , Easyjet and Virgin chavetts

  • this is not sexist please...

  • Who ever said SQ should get rid of the SQ girl should get slapped!

  • why start on something new? The SQ girl is what differentiate Singapore Airlines from the rest of the world. Why forget and blend her into the shadows of history when she has proven to by a marketing success. You my friend must not know nothing about marketing.

  • Comment removed

  • Where in the SQ Adds does it say that SQ is the best airline in the world? It doesnt right? The thing about SQ's commercials is that they create a fantasy, a dream and a visual of their great product/service. True, many airlines today have similar service and product, but when they try to promote their aka flight attendants/service/product in TVC, it does not have the same big impact as the SQ girl/service.

  • the singapore girl with the balloon is actually a Malaysian..she quits a long time ago and now is an aspiring actress in Malaysia..something like that..

  • Who thinks Singapore Airline is the best tick me!as good!

  • i was in this commercial. i know the girl who spun on the ice because the skating scene was filmed at Canterbury Ice Rink in Sydney. I was one of the many faceless people skating in "central park".

  • LOL are u serious canterbury ice rink? haha

  • Comment removed

  • That shows the contrast to other airlines, out of the airline they are not like that. But with American they might even give you a dirty look.

  • Singapore girls are the undisputed best.

  • I remember an ad jingle on Sky Radio in the early 90's Singapore Girls You're A Great Way To Fly!

  • Singapore Girl refer to the flight stewardess that deliver the legendary service. :)

  • omg...i remember this ad. they came to our rink in sydney to shoot this and we had to skate around a blue screen.

  • Singapore Girls do fly, in a Singapore Aircraft lol.

its just a campaign slogan. dont take it so literally. Same as United Fly the Friendly skies or Thai smooth as silk.

  • amazing commercial.

Singapore Airlines, and Emirates are the best!

  • i will come back to Indonesia from Japan with this airlines

quite expensive, but what can say...its the only direct flight to Fukuoka

    :p

  • wasnt the island uninhabited?

  • eddistok, Singapore has been very sparsely inhabited and gone through rises and dips in population since the 1400s or so, and much back further still. However, Singapore's population boomed after mass immigration started in the 1820s.

  • Singapore or Singapura used to be inhabited my lions before Humans inhabited the area

  • Singapore never had any lions.

  • shows who knows Singapore's history.

  • lol i know its easy to get confused especially with the name like singa ( lion) pura. but in reality here was no lion. the name was given by Indonesian prince Sang Nila Utama who saw a creature like lion. In asia lions can be found in india only.

  • ohh i saw this advert on tv a while ago! i wanted to go soo bad :(, such a nice add

  • where did you see it? I haven't seen an SIA ad on tv or the cinemas for a very long time. :(

  • Great commercial but not very fond of the 'Singapore Girl' idea....

  • the singapore girl is singapore airlines. without her SQ would be nothing.

  • yep. but i guess times have changed and we'd like to see a new marketing theme. in the early days most of the passengers are wealthy business travelers. not so today

  • too bad there isnt "singapore boy"

  • Can anyone tell me what form of martial arts is it at 00.39? Is it Chinese, Korean, Japanese? Thanks!

  • Chinese. You can tell from the Forbidden City behind.

  • Chinese.W

  • Chinese.w

  • this is the best airline commercial i've ever seen! SIA is the best airlines for me!

  • for an airline commercial, this is surprisingly moving; it even made me tear up a little bit!

  • The best Airlines commercial I think. I'd like to have Singapore Airlines' flight someday. It's awesome.

  • Singapore is a multi-racial country, it's not purely chinese country. Just to let you know :D

  • bluesmooke. The singapore girl uniform is what made Singapore Airlines famous. The traditional kebaya glad uniform is what differentiate SIA from their competitors and is a global icon that was admitted into Madame Tsaud Museum in London. You say Air Asia uniform is nicer but really it is no different than any other boring business suit that other airlines in the world make their F/A's wear.

  • bluesmoke, Malay culture is indigeneous to the region. Although Chinese do form an ethnic majority in Singapore, we still stay true to are roots and embrace our multi-cultural uniqueness. I think it would be terrible to see SIA trade out the beautiful batik-patterned Kebaya for the also gorgeous, but not-quite-the-same Chinese cheongsam. =) In fact, many early settlers, mostly Chinese ones, were called Peranakans because they assimilated in many ways into Malay culture.

  • In fact, my ancestors were Peranakan!

Beautiful commercial, long live the Singapore Girl! Always to remain an icon of Asian hospitality.......

  • The best ever SIA commercial

Singapore girl youre a greate way to fly

  • Singapore Girl Television Commercial is also the best of all!

  • Such an incredible ad, I shuddered watching it :) Singapore Girl, you're a great way to fly.

  • singapore girl , you're a great way to fly? ;p

  • It's an amazing advertisement. I can watch it over and over!

  • whoever made this advert is a pure genius

n singapore airlines is simply d best no doubt

SINGAPORE GIRL, YOU'RE A GREAT WAY TO FLY

  • this advertisement depicts the true meaning of an airline. the girls are pretty, yes, but most importantly they potray our icon - the singapore girl. this ad not only promotes SIA, but also the amazing countries and cultures from around the world. well done, SIA! go on and keep doing us proud! :D

  • WOw...this ad really awesome...so the service too... =)

  • The beautiful!

  • I think the stewardess with short hair is really beautiful and charming. She looks great with short hair.

  • singapore airlines roxs man!

  • most airlines have strict hair guidlines. It is suppose to be pulled back especially during food and beverage service. Our American flight attendants just allow standards to fall by the way side.

  • gasp... I LOVE SINGAPORE AIRLINES

  • At least the whites are pictured as servants...it portrays in this age that asians are superior, finally. I love chinese, indians and malays. Bravo for SINGAPORE.

  • This is the most racist comment I have ever seen on youtube.

  • Great song, great advertisement. I would like to travel with Signapore Airlines on a long flight to Asia an look through the window at the stars...mm...

  • I second that, jetstream2blue.

  • You call yourself GREAT by saying other ppl "bitch" shame of yourself... Come-on, HAVE A GOOD LOOK AT YOURSELF...!! HAHA

  • you are bringing disgrace to your religion.

i guess you need some serious help

  • when you are such a dumb idiot, shut your mouth, their national religon is not muslim.

sorry that my Englsih is not good enough to swear at you more cruel shitty words

  • U disgrace muslim ..seriously ..no joke

  • actually the reason that they let down their hair in some videos is to strongly bring out the point that they are 'carefree' i dont think anyone would want a grumpy air stewardess to serve you right? and if you realise, the old singapore girl, like the ones in the 1980s, usually let their hair down in ads. dont you agree that they look more approachable. of course they still look approachable now that they bun up their hair

  • Agree. Although during flight.......Singapore Girl often have wedding-style hair-do! They looks very 'prepared'.

I enjoy flying SQ very much. Infact, I fly them almost exclusively.

  • i think they just dun wan to see hair on e carpets or in your food. HAHA. but of cos i agree dey look more approachable. prob sq jus wans a neater look.

  • sadly the job is very tough...and its not easy like they make it seem...its very hard actually...but this advertisment is so beautiful...i agree that their ads are very good

  • agreed.

being the best doenst come easy. Because SIA has such a big rep, they must work really hard. SQ girl you make Singapore Airlines what it is, the worlds 5 star airline

  • i am disgusted by such a nasty comment that Masakeistsuko posted. how dare you write such ruthless comments? something is clearly wrong with you

  • yea, I totally agree with you.Maybe her boyfriend left her for an SQ girl ;)

  • masaakiestsuko. You really need to stop acting like a nincompoop.

  • masaakisetsuko,is there something wrong with you? why you hate them?

  • some poor looser who has nothing better to do then poke fun at other famouse icons. Pretty sad huh?

  • but she is lyke shouting 4 e truth..wat happen in here?

  • she?

    you mean "it"

  • "it"? i read the comments. sq crew b4?

  • huh?

  • masaakisetsuko is a crew b4?

  • no shes not a crew. If you read everything correctly. Theres a part were she said i work for SQ. But once people started asking her questions she said "I never worked for SQ" clearly a liar who is trying to bring down an icon

  • I think her boyfriend left her for an SQ girl :)

  • u mean her bf left 4 sq girl? coz i have a relative is a crew. news was this wife slap the sq girl coz she maybe was maybe too much according to the wife attending to her husband. the wife jealous! think the crew sue them :)
