While I do appreciate the shredders, there are to many today and there is nothing special about it anymore. We need more guitar players like this, whos phrasing would make your mother jealous of her own cooking!
Yes Keith, since 1912 the same crap has been played over and over again. For one hundred years people have played the same 12 bar blues, it's tired, it's boring, it's trite, it's shit.
Keith teaches not only the guitar, he teaches music. That's why I always put him on the top of the list. Not only a good guitarist, but also a good musician.
@AdvancedBBear i would always use the neck pickup for blues for that creamy tone, i would suggest using a guitar with passive pickups and possibley role back the tone a bit. Turn up the mids and use an amp distortion OR a fuzz pedal depending on what ur playing. Thick strings are always good and getting bends really precise is important. A faint reverb can be useful also and the use of valve amps if you can afford one is very important - i can't :(
@AdvancedBBear Use the bridge pickup, thats important. Other than that I cant help you, cause I dont really know that stuff. Am more of a technique guy than a gear and accessories dude. :)
Your fit
