  • So good!! I love her love tunes

  • The drunken suicidal tone of Billie's voice matches my drunken suicidal mood more often than I care to admit. I know exactly how she feels! Not sure if that's good or bad. It's probably bad...:P

  • @brownrecluse805

Because Billie's voice was so elemental, I feel that listener's are over-prone more often than not to project onto her singing a plethora of emotions that she may or may not have ever felt or intended at the time of recording. I have never found a "suicidal" tone in her singing, but certainly a beaten and bruised (by the world and by love) one. In this song however, all I feel is the sweetness of new love. Don't get bogged down in the negative my friend.

  • DETOUR!!!!

  • this is the best

  • Maravilhosa!

  • wow

  • I love this one, seriously.

  • thank you for putting this up. i just recalled why i fell in love with billie as a teenager.

  • @demononion

"I Can't Believe You're In Love With Me" was recorded at 1776 Broadway, New York City, NY on January 6, 1938 with Teddy Wilson and his Orchestra (which included Lester Young).

  • @direfranchement lester always stands out as instantly recognizable; as soon as i heard his bit in this i had to close my eyes. incredible player

  • @direfranchement sorry, 1933!!!

  • is this 1933 or 1938? I have a different version of this song and want to make sure which version this one is because this one is my all time fav.

  • Hello! This was recorded on January 6, 1938. The only recordings by Billie Holiday from 1933 are the 2 with Benny Goodman. Billie started recording with Teddy Wilson in 1935.

  • a song from 1938

  • (: too nice

  • I love this song so very much...along with Until The Real Thing Comes Along.

  • In less than 2¨she says so much...Love her!

  • simply beautiful...pure poetry

  • I think that's the Prez Lester Young w/Wilson. Great early Holiday recording.

  • i love her

  • An angel sings ...

  • Can't get any better than this, great vocal and instrumental.

  • just curious, did Billie Holiday dedicate this to anyone?Anyways, great video (:

  • A young, fresh and smart BILLIE HOLIDAY giving us her very best, her inventions, her new-singing world, before it'd come the times she'll give us another side of her very best.

  • I love it so very much. It is simple and a brisk message from Billy Holiday. Tyler Lord Hamilton
