Socialist-Marxist is left-wing. I'm guessing the video maker meant the nationalists and the conservative elites when he mentioned right wing.
What he meant by the sentence "Many government officials were right wing and wanted to destroy the government." -
Many government officials had right wing roots, and were naturally opposed to the idea of a civilian democracy, favouring the old monarchist system of government. Thus, the Weimar republic had internal opposition.
@BATCH420 this is true, many members of the right-wing tradtional parties such as the DNVP did not believe in parliamentary demoncracy from the start, making their anti-Republican stance very clear in the Reichstag. They wanted a new form of strong government, with a stronger leader: Hitler, perhaps?
"All i can say is from germanys view thank christ for gustav stresemann ", i very much doubt so...The very idea that democracy was on the way of establising itself in Germany is an illusion created by hindsight. In reality, there was no sign of future security; on the contray the fact remains that the two major bourgeois parties (Nationalists and Centre) soon fell into the hands of avowed enemies of democracy boded ill for the future.

both the spartacists rebellion and the treaty of versailles happened in 1919. the whole point of the rebellion was to snatch power from Freidrich Ebert who declared the weimar government in the first place. Rosa luxemburg and karl liebnecht were opponents of the weimar and it was the treaty that gave them ammunition.
the actual revolution ended the war, TofV came later. In the official history they speak of SPARTAKUS uprise, but it wasn't. The people of Berlin just came into the streets but did not know what to do. Only some spontaneous actions were provided. Then Noske ordered the Freikorps and Army -all paid by the industrialists - to shoot them down, as they did later in whole Germany.
Well I cant remember any of this stuff now, I did history ages ago, but making this video helped me get a B and it helped others out, I got the information from a revision website on here.

I especially love the sentence that says, "Many government officials were right wing and wanted to destroy the government." WTF dude?

Yeah, lol...
Could you elaborate on that quote? Right wing is too vague. What sort of ideology were they? Socialist-Marxist, Fascist, etc...

Hey, sry but the video has numerous errors and does not display a true image of the actual history of the Weimar Republic
(e.g. Kaiser Wilhelm did abdicate, yet only under great pressure; the stab-in-the-back-legend is a nazi term and an invention of theirs etc.)
