se me pone la piel de gallina cada vez que la escucho y me transporto a mis años de infancia. viernes a la noche la daban en tele ..un gustazo y al otro dia encima no tener que ir al colegio
I've always adored this piece of music.John Barry has a legendary array of themes & material that isn't yet as critically lauded as it will be in years to come.A True Genius of the genre.
Well, I'll never understand how such genius people can be mortal...In Africa they say when an old man dies that it's a whole library that burns. So sad. But man, did he succeed in his life !! Everybody will remember him, that's win for sure !
diyopatino - Please, please, advise where to find this beautiful version . It sounds like the original soundtrack. I can not accept those offered at iTunes ...
Monday was the first time I ever cried for the passing of someone involved with show business. I have been a fan of John Barry since the age of 10 when I saw my first James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". I loved his scores for "Somewhere In Time" - "Dances With Wolves" and "The Deep. There are other fantastic composers... but only one John Barry. I will never forget you.
This was the piece of music that got me hooked on John Barry 40 years ago at the age of 17, I am now 56 and a mourning fan to a talent that can never be replicated.
I grew up with ZULU, THE IPCRESS FILE, THE PERSUADERS,THE BOND FILMS....
As good as they are they were made unforgettable by Barry's music and his music is one of the main reasons I watch them over and over throughout the years.
Thank you John for creating the drug that would burn those scenes into my brain forever.
A while ago we lost the incredible, Tony Curtis and this was the tune I came back to. A tune I first heard as a little boy. An unforgettable tune that hen I rediscovered it on here (YouTube), and in many ways it was... just yesterday. Sadly, the writer of this piece of music, John Barry, died today. As they say... heaven will be so much richer. I'd like to thank you Sir, for the music.
this guy was awesome and his music made me happy if that makes sense. anyway rip John. really considering how many times is it bandied about like a piece of candy these days, this guy was a true legend.
SO LONG TONY!..WE'll NEVER FORGET YOU!...
Love the Tube! I had a fuzzy memory of a stirring melody from a show I could barely remember, somewhere in the seventies, for about three episodes. I knew Tony Curtus was a co-star. @jonnythewhitefoot I can hear Slade on your turntable, maybe Humble Pie. The Brits always made us look like pretenders (not The Pretenders) here in the states, ever since they co-opted rock and roll, four out of every five good bands from then on were Brits. Just the way it is. Fine by me:Beatles, Stones, Mott, Bowie, T-Rex, Roxy Music, Eno, and on and on. My buddies and I got into a few scuffles with unruly bargoers on plenty of nights out. Had to protect the guitars and amps first though!
FANTASTICA SIGLA! .......WE MISS OUR DANNY! SO LONG TONY!
If it were to be resurrected these days, it would feature two 19-year-old kids who look like gay catalogue models in the leads. The dialogue would be vacuous but delivered with much intensity. Kung-Fu and vampires would be crucial to every plot.
Rest In Peace Tony Curtis, such a great actor. "The Persuaders", known as "Dos Tipos Audaces" in Latin America was just an awesome TV serie which will stay engraved on my memory. That takes me back to unforgettable moments!!
Tony Curtis born Bernard Schwartz (June 3, 1925 – September 29, 2010) Rest In Peace. A totally irreplaceable American actor... I always will think of him when I hear this theme music. It's very fitting. His parents were Hungarian Jewish immigrants. His father was a tailor and the family all lived in the back of the shop. From the school of hard knocks and humble beginnings.
I met him once when he was in London and for sure I shouldn't have as he was, well let's just say, past his prime but for me, one of if not the best actors ever. Funny, witty, charming and just a great presence. Like many others I suspect that this theme brings back some happy memories of Dad's (and perhaps a few mums) who are no longer with us. God bless TC and those that I hope one day we will see again. Thank you Tony.

When I listen to this song, I feel like it is part of my past and I am not who I think I am. I hate it and it makes me cry, but I can't stop thinking about the song. I'm only 13 and I've never seen 'The Persuaders', but my dad has a copy of John Barry's album that he listens to once in a while. It's the same when I watch a certain movie on YouTube or watch stuff with Izabella Scorupco or Elisabeth Sladen on. But it happens most when I listen to this.
I have been insanely hysterical about this TV theme since I first heard it when the show first appeared on US TV. I was about 11 yrs old or so and it has never left my memory - coupled with the fantastic opening visuals showing the 2 principals different lives starting with pictures of them as infants. Just a fantastic opening to a TV show. They don't make great openings to TV series anymore.
I get shivers each time I hear this piece! The Persuaders was my favorite show when I was a child back in 1970. I can't tell how much I loved that theme. There was something really dark and melancholic about it. I was only 5 but I knew this was some kick ass music. As I grew older I've discovered the work of Sir John Barry and suddenly it all made sense. We know what we like.
This musical theme 'so obsessional...it represents Fatality for me...thanks YOUTUBE for that little jewel..just like MO'SEAN"Give you my soul" some time ago...What precious moments of dreamin' in that so brutal an'grey world ...THANKS AGAIN YOUTUBE!!!
1963garry. You hit the nail on the head with that one mate, my dad and i watched the wrestling on a saturday afternoon and the Persuaders during the week.......Happy days my friend
