You're a dumb ass, the number of tigers in the wild is rapidly decreasing, it's speculated that in a few decades the only tigers left will be those in captivity, do your research before shoving your head up your ass.
the only reason that it worked is because they had their babies taken away from them and animals grieve just as much as people, so they were able to fulfill that mothering instinct by replacing the animals lost. Tigers aren't pets, they are supposed to be reserved and not used to other animals, that's how they survive. On the same note, pigs should not be used to tigers that's how they get eaten.
One thing is getting a surrogate from another species when the cub is rejected or its mother dies and there is no surrogate from the same species available. Another thing is swapping cubs just to see how it goes. I think it's wrong.

haha the vet said the mother pig will not teach the tigers to be wild and attack, but if you think a little further, will the mother tiger teach the little pigs to hunt ? Imagine a wild pig chasing a deer in the wild :D would be funny as hell ^^

@brandoncharleschew as you can see, this man can just feed the tiger with his hands so its not a completely wild tiger. The mother tiger just sees them as her kids. Put the pigs with any other tiger and they will be eaten tho.

Well dude, some times, momy tiger have many cubs and she cant feed them all, so they use sustitue momy pigs, because they have more milk, but dont get upset, she is only feeding them, she is not their new mom =P

human scientific experiments are not a good purpose to take away baby cubs..... tigers are ment to be in the wild free.... not only do we take them away from their wilderness now we are taking away the babies for an experiment.
the whales in asian countries being killed in millions are also apparently for scientific experiment yet most countries dont think that is ok, what the difference here?

the only reason that it worked is because they had their babies taken away from them and animals grieve just as much as people, so they were able to fulfill that mothering instinct by replacing the animals lost. Tigers aren't pets, they are supposed to be reserved and not used to other animals, that's how they survive. On the same note, pigs should not be used to tigers that's how they get eaten.

One thing is getting a surrogate from another species when the cub is rejected or its mother dies and there is no surrogate from the same species available. Another thing is swapping cubs just to see how it goes. I think it's wrong.
Tigers are supposed to be wild carnivores. It's bad enough that they are caged...
Zoos often say they keep animals as a genetic pool, if we need to reintroduce them in the wild in case of near extinction. Is that the kind of tigers they want to reintroduce?

No, I wouldn't rather that the cub died. That's not the issue here. The tiger cubs were not adopted by a pig for lack of a proper mother -- they were forcefully *taken* from their mother for the sake of this experiment.

They are doing it for a good purpose, it's not genetic manipulation or something. It's just psychological, if the tiger accepted the pigs as their offspring by themselves, then the people to blame are not the zookeepers but the animals themselves.
If it's unnatural, the animals would have rejected it. But they didn't, simply because they made a mistake.
Is making mistakes unnatural, even for animals? NO.

You can't blame animals for having their offspring taken away from them. They didn't mistake the opposite offspring for their own, they knew perfectly well that they were a different species. Most animals react this way: When their offspring dies or is taken away, they find other babies (even if they are another species) and treat them as their own. There are hundreds of videos and documents on it; research a little. The zookeepers probably did it for attention.

Um, do you know that Bengal Tigers are going extinct? We have to take the ones still left alive into captivity to help the species grow. And we still have a problem with hunters killing the ones left in the wild, too :(
