This video is around the greatest I have ever seen of AC. As I agree with the man that posted a comment a few months ago, ACZ had the best soundtrack. Assault Horizon captured my attention too, it changed everything, but, I rather stay with the traditional Ace Combat world.

It sucks when the computer makes you do moves to escape hairy situations.Even worse slowing down to do an evasion manuver may get you shot down period.Dogfighting against a former wingman while a Nuke is launched and a country's welfare is in your hands.No AH doesn't deserve a beautiful battle theme like this.

@515killer the way that game does it is too controlling.I find it better to turn in to your opponent.(and thrilling)The DFM hold 2 buttons to escape is unrealistic and boring.You're not good at a game if the game walks you on a leash.Slowing down in a dogfight is a major risk.Its better to turn towards your opponent or fly towards the sun to blind them.Also the game should have incoporated the scissors manuver.High g manuver on AC6 should've been in the game.AH is overrated

@515killer Pixy was awesome.For me I started with 4 then worked my way to AH.I love 5 and Zero.The plight of Wardog squadron as well as Osea and Yuktobania was dramatic.And Zero was awesome because of what Belka was trying to start and for how many Aces wished to change the world.Those 2 were my favorites but X and Joint Strike Assault(before it was stolen) were pretty good.

@515killer another thing its satisfying to barrel roll to evade a missile coming straight at you.Evasion on AC6 as I said is too controlling.You don't have to be good at that.And its an annoying inconvience.Also the instant one engages a Bandit or Bogey you're already in a "Dogfight" Therefore DogFightMode is a stupidly named gimmick that isn't needed by ACE Acecombat players.The old fans will tell you.

Final verdict:

Definately the most arcade-y of the Ace Combat games, if you detest rail shooting segments you won't like this game as much as others in the series, period.

However,

If you don't mind that, this is by far the most visercal and engaging game in the series. HUGE numbers of enemies, kick ass music, epic scale of combat, I nearly fell out of my chair in places DFM'ing like crazy and counter rolling.

It's Afterburner on crack cocaine.

From the Ace combat series, the only game I purchased was Ace Combat Zero, which is an excellent game. I also saw gameplay videos of Ace Combat 4, 5 and 6, and I've gotta say they are awesome too. The fact that my PS2 broke and I have a PS3 now, and HAWX being a total piece of crap, I bought AC: AH.

In my opinion, the storyline doesn't have the impact of the rest of games but the gameplay is excellent.

I honestly hope the Colonel isn't the actual main character, the one in the jet you play. To be completly honest, I'd rather you start out as a nugget, Like AC5. It really gave you a chance to grow up with the character, from someone who was new, to a skilled, feared and deadly pilot. I don't want to jump into the game as one. I want to watch the pilot grow into it, earn the rep. Ya know?

Oh I know Ace 5 was sick. I had a blast filling all the kill bars to get unlockables. The Missions were good too. I would still play it from time to time but the game disc got a ring burned into it and wouldn't play the majority of the missions in the middle of the game

@FreedomFighterEx ... Well, it's not actually re-used. The song you're talking about in Assault Horizon (which is called Dogfight, as said in the preview soundtrack), does take instances from AC6's Liberation, but that's about it. 6's never had those awesome guitar parts.

They even kept the importance of keeping the PC's character 'legendary', "Looks like those rumors I heard about you in Iraq were all true."
