I can't believe the majority of reviewers on YouTube saying this game sucks! I agree with everything you said. It's not a bad game, and it really stands out in the NES' library. The people who say this game sucks just either don't know how to play it, or are total n00bs. Even that Zeta guy and that Stan guy said this game sucked. What were they smoking?!?!
I have it on NES and GBA and both versions are unplayable. You gave the controls more credit than they deserve. One good thing though is that on the GBA port, they boxing game is slowed down a little so you can actually have reaction time, also the graphics, music and voices sound much better. I think there's also a PS1 port as well
What's funny with the game is that the screen is different for every version of the games.
The game was first released on Commodore 64, then other computer platforms, then the NES version and then it was rereleased for the PS1. Still kicking myself for not getting the PS1 version since it was a limited release, I saw it but passed it up. I have the NES version, but damn I still want the PS1 version.
Thanks for referring this specific vid to me, Pat -- as always, I enjoy the work you put into high production values backed by true retro-game experience and expertise. Keep up the phenomenal work!
Was it mentioned that during the Hospital minigame, there is a 8 bit version of the song they did from "Violet is the Word for Curly"? Yeah, I'm a die hard Stooges fan myself but when it came out in 1987, I was only nine at the time, and also- I'm a Shemp fan.
I talked to Gavan Anderson (Who wrote this game's music) and he sent me the original music files for this game. Also, great review, want to know something shocking? This game was by the same guys who made Back to the Future.
I enjoyed this game when it first came out, although playing it now it doesn't have the same replay value as others in the NES library. This game does get a bad rap though.
Your video intro made me think that you'd turn out to be some sad AVGN wannabe, but I was wrong. You should give your input more though rather than explain the game.

@thatrandomguy461 Only if you think the NES is capable of full-motion video
untunedguitar45 6 months ago
@untunedguitar45 Technically the NES could display full-motion video, however it'd obviously be 8-bit.

y'know, seeing as how this game wasn't that popular, I'm pretty surprised that there's a remake on the game boy advance.

Emmys are for television, not film. "Men in Black" was nominated (but did not win) a short-subject Oscar in 1934.

You know, I grew up watching The Three Stooges. As for the game, I never tried it, but it looks very tempting to play.
By the way, I really loved that boxing episode :).
