This Delta flight is only a flopped hype that has evoked disappointment after much preparation for it. As it is Kenya Airways already has too much competition from KLM, Swiss international, British Airways among other 32 airlines that already have JKIA as a destination. Besides the plane has a stopover in Senegal, so it's not really direct. Kenya Airways will be more than happy to pick travellers destined to Kenya from wherever Delta drops her passengers. Be it Uk, Amsterdam, or Senegal.

The problem here has much to do with Kenya putting a lot of effort in preparing for Delta's maiden flight to Kenya, yet Delta and the US Embassy can't so much as make a phone call to the Kenyan government to advice them on the change in plans, so the Kenyan Government can adjust its plans accordingly. Kenya is the 4th largest market for US exports in Sub-Saharan Africa, so we are not begging.

This flight is only for convenience, it's not like Americans aren't flying to Kenya because there is no direct flight between the US and Kenya. JKIA is the 6th busiest airport in Africa, and Delta is losing out on this significant market share. JKIA has met the requested security improvements to accommodate Delta, and the shame is on them if they can't even get communicate in a cooperative manner. Michael has dropped the ball while busy meddling in Kenyan affairs.
