What other fighters in the heavy weight division are there that can even last 12 rounds these days cuz they are all fat and out of shape and are scared to fight deontay.
No disrespect to Deontay but he fighting some weak ass niggas. If I was Deontay I would feel disrepected if they put me in the ring with the fighters of that type of caliber...
I had an opportunity to meet this young fighter yesterday at the hall of fame. Nicest kid you could hope to meet. He could not have been more patient or considerate of all the people lining up for autographs and pictures. Most of the fighters I have met have been pretty decent, but he is an exceptionally nice guy. He's got fan in me.
UstashaMe84, you are just a fuckin hater. Hate to see a blackman doing well. I hate stupid asses like you, keep ya negative bullshit to ya self. ...lilblack gul from tuscaloos
He's still undefeated. Unlike Steve Molitor. He's also never been close to getting KTFO in the 12th round, like Lucian Bute. And Juan Urango didn't destroy him like he did Herman Ngoudjo.
Dont forget special teams!(lol) I think he IS agood prospect, but he should be brought along slowly. Did you see those right hands at the end? Was he throwing a baseball?
Deontay Wilder is 6'7". He is the best American heavyweight prospect today. Its ashame that he may have already made a career changing mistake by signing with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. GBP doesnt know how to develop young fighters. A better choice would have been to sign with Bob Arum's Top Rank which has a reputation for developing young talent (most notably a young Oscar De La Hoya himself) I dont think Wilder has what it takes to be great because he lacks KO power...
Dude, he just KOed this guy, how can you say he doesn't have knockout power? I train at Skyy Boxing myself and believe me, he's heavy fisted. All he has to do is bulk up a little and he'll be a beast in the pros. I do agree with the signing mistake, but hey, dudes gotta get paid :)
Yeah, he'll fill out in time. I think Wlad Klitschko made his pro debut at 219lb. I hear this dude has a lot of athletic ability, so hopefully he's the real deal. We need more guys like him coming up.
when you talk about being an athlete, your talking about Deontay Wilder. Was recruited by Alabama to play basketball and football before he had his daughter. I can see him as something lethal at 235 or so.
@RBGdUP He was working delivering cokes in vending machines and other jobs to support his family he deserves to fight for the title and he is a natural athelete 240 tops but he can carry that weight, he probably is close to it when he aint training in his off time.
I cant see anyone doing anything in heavyweight class thats why I want to see Deontay whoop their ass before they retire with both the belts cuz they are really just decent fighters Tyson would have taken them in his primes and so would Holyfield etc. The heavy weight class is waiting on the nextgreat champion to bring boxing back from behind the big conversation of mma and how all they do is role around on the ground for 5 minute rounds its pretty damn boring if ya ask me.
With only 2 years of boxing training he metaled in the Olympics! And he's 6'8" which is damn good, if he trains with Hopkins he can pick up the defense, and if he also trains the offense with Emanuel Steward, he can become something special.
Thinkyou for seeing what everyone else cant cuz he already is an elite fighter any fighter that can go to the olympics and win a medal with only 2 years of experience is not just some dude who thinks he can fight he went halfway around the world and proved it when most of those other fighters have been boxing half their life if not allof there life.
Great start but let's not get carried away quite yet. He's a good boxer who KO'd a not so good boxer...nothing more, nothing less. We'll see what the future holds. I wish him well and "think" he'll be a good one!

He is a very young boxer and needs a lot of work, but Power is the one thing he has right now, he just needs to work on OFFENSE & DEFENSE

basketballers CAN fight - they're naturally athletic and have long jabs, thats why deontay was the only medalist at the last olympics
i predict big things for him

That is the only way he is gonna get a shot cuz he has been knockin everyone out!

Are you kidding? GBP has plenty of young successful Champs. Deontay's manager is Shelley Finkel, who has managed many champions.
Deontay Wilder has a lot of power, so I don't know what you're talking about.
