2.) Iran retaliates by attempting to close the straight of Hormuz.
3.) U.S. air and sea assets are thereby forced to engage the Iranians as to open the straight.
4.) Iran goes into survival mode in wake of shock and awe, causing Iran to retaliate against Saudi oil assets.

@BanjoKiD2K Firslty, Iran has no weaponized nuclear capacity, nor do I believe that is probable. Secondly, let me explain how events will likely unfold if Israel strikes:
1.) Israel hits Iran
2.) Iran retaliates by attempting to close the straight of Hormuz.
3.) U.S. air and sea assets are thereby forced to engage the Iranians as to open the straight.
4.) Iran goes into survival mode in wake of shock and awe, causing Iran to retaliate against Saudi oil assets.
5.) WWIII...

We just dont know for sure how much if any they have, surely they would not be able to make enough Nukes to pose a massive threat, the only threat maybe to Isreal.
But i cant see them nuke Isreal, one thing that Western people can not take away is the pride Islamic people have for their religon, like it or not Western People as a % do not take Christainity as serious. Not like we did hundreds of years ago.

But as you said, when desperate they would do what they can to destroy and disrupt as much oil as they can, the US is to Far for Iran to attack, the US fights first from long range then gets hands dirty in a mop up operation, so again a way to hurt and strike back could be to destroy as much oil as possible.
I do think Oil/Religon causes a lot of trouble myself!

You can subtract religion from the equation entirely, and humans are still creatures that want to control and dominate their fellow creatures. It's imbued in the social essence of humans. People dominating others is just called nature. Philosophy can change the course of nature, but only so much.

Their people get sick of him and gain enough balls to overthrow him. Then our president, politicians, and media people support the coup/revolution. Finally, the rebels start a new government that totally goes against western ideals. Then we call them a threat to our national security and brand them terrorist.
