How to make the BOSS ME-25 work with Sonar LE (Short tutorial)

When I try to install Sonar Le it says it cannot create the file because there is another file with the same name, but I have never installed it before

When i record the volume is still quite low when i play back to hear my recording. How do i set the recording level to be higher? or do i just need to put the volume on the Boss me 25 higher and my guitar?

I got the Boss ME-25, I also installed the software, the first time I connected the ME25 it said found new hardware, but after I installed the software, I am unable to find where the start-up file is and when I connect the USB i cannot see any pop up that its connected, just that USB sound that it is connected, what could be wrong, please help!!!

why my boss me 25 changes the sound when i plug usb?

i'm using it with my guitar in the input and an amp as an output/mono, it works great, but as soon as a plug the usb the sound changes, how do i solve this? its impossible to record something since the audio changes with the usb.

@gomczx11 hmmm... make sure that you haven't put any effects in Sonar LE while recording... then it shouldn't change.. if there still is a problem try to reinstall Sonar LE...

if there's still a problem then I have no idea! :S

Hi! i have installed the software from the cd that came with my boss me25 but when i connect the pedal to the computer via USB it then says "devise driver software was not successfully installed" and "no driver found"

what do i do now? :/

hey ! iHave The Same Processor , I Just Bought The USB Cable From A Local Computer Shop . The Ports The Same . I Tried Using It For Recording With Sonar And Reaper , But I Get This Delay In My Sound , And Sometimes It Goes Fast Sometimes Slow ! I Am Just Terrified Looking AT This ! @kdsoa2 no.., since I made the video I found out that the problem is your computers external sound card which is not good enough.. :/

Maybe try with the program Amplitube or something and see if the same problem appears with other programs.. but pretty sure you need and external sound card if you wanna get rit off the latency

I only use the program for recording so I just play the sound on my amplifier and let the program record muted ;)

@alexanderlund91 Yup I've already download the driver but SONAR didn't recognize it. When i tried with Guitar Rig, It can recognized my ME-25, the thing is with Guitar Rig, I can' set the input from ME and output with my comp soundcard.

dude, can you help me? when i connect the boss me 25 with the computer, and do all those things that youve showed in this video, when i play, i cant hear nothing, but sonar shows that it is receiving sound from the guitar. the only way for me to make it work is turning the input echo on, but when i do that, it comes with a huge delay, and i cant record. any tips?

at around 1:10-1:14 of the video, u were able to have more options from the "MIDI devices" where you can choose "left in Me-25".

In my input option it says "ME-25 (1in, 1 out), but i'm unable to click on it for more options. unable to select it. How do i go about this? Thanks for your help..

I think you just have to live with it

If you want to fix it you can go to a local music/computer store and they could guide you in buying a new sound card which is capable of running the ME-25 properbly

@heavymedlarruti666 I've tried asking someone in the music store where I bought the me-25 and apparently you'll need to buy a descent sound card for the computer to avoid this problem :/

Hey firstly thanks for the video, was very helpful since i just started using this today. I have a question regarding selecting a position on the track, im trying to add drum tracks to a guitar track and i cant get some parts to line up properly as i can only make large movements, ive tried shift clicking and everything else i can think of but nothing allows me to do small enough movements to line things up perfectly. hmm.. what do you mean by silly? it should record the same sound that comes out of your amplifier :S

maybe you need to turn the volume up?! it's hard to say

does sonar le allow u to add effects and such so your guitar isnt just bare or do you need to do that urself before it goes into the ua 25 ex

I don't know why, but Sonar LE runs with a latency when I use it (propably because of to little computer power) so I just use the ME-25 for effects and Sonar for recording only!

i cant get it to work, my friend set it up for me but i had to wipe my computer and start over, it just wont record, and when it does the plaback is in half a second and very awful

Nice work Alex. I'm thinking of getting one of these, so I'd appreciate it if you could tell me a little more. When you have recorded your basic track, what kind of editing features are available? Can you cut/paste tracks, EQ, add effects etc?

yes, you can do that to. I'm not very much into this but it seems pretty advanced and for instance you can make music with 16 different audios at once and it has MIDI-instruments too..

Cut/paste seems easy too

(I would recommend that u use the effects u can get from the me-25 before trying in sonar le)
