@fLoEjBf the primer is a must, it is what cleans the pvc and reacts with the cement, after priming both pices then apply the cement, push the 2 together firmly, then twist while holding them together, it should be about 3 seconds before you can no longer twist them. together

@TT4Productions They are inserted in two drilled holes, then a tab with a screw hole is screwed into the PVC after a pilot hole is drilled. The the wires are connected as per the grill ignitor directs. And if you've lined up your spark tips correctly, then it will spark.

@TT4Productions Yes I did cut down the chamber. People say, I haven't tested it, that a shorter chamber in the 1' range is better. The handle is a 2x4 cut in half, then the corners sanded down, and a metal strap wraps around the barrel, and finally JB weld glue holds the metal step to the barrel so it does' slip.

@TT4Productions Depending on what type of fuel our using, you have to figure out the right mixture. For instance, if you spray for 4 sec, then reload and spray another 4 sec or fuel. It's not the same as the first shot. The reason why, is because you haven't given enough time for the chamber to air out, messing up your richness, or fuel to air ratio. But if you blow new air into the gun, it helps. Some times it takes 1 sec of fuel, then wait 30 sec, the spray evaporates in the chamber.Experiment

@TT4Productions Yes, the spark generator leads stick out and can be broken off, so I cut some of the barrel off, (mainly because it wouldn't fit in my trunk of my car) and cut a segment off so it could be glued to the chamber.

@chickinfarm3 Yes, you can, IF you have the electrical component to create the spark. A spark plug only creates the gab for a spark to jump. It doesn't create the spark. Have fun, be safe.

And, Yes it would be stronger than PVC? Yes. The chances are very slim that a PVC pipe explodes on you. So it's just going to be heavier.

@JessesWarMovies It should work as long as your using a small bore barrel. I have yet to experiment with the best length yet. I've seen them small, but yours boarders on to small for a large 2" barrel bore. Maybe a 1/2" or smaller bore. Size wouldn't stop me from experimenting! Be Safe!

@JessesWarMovies I didn't know you were talking about diameter. Well a standard tennis ball is 67mm in diameter. You can go bigger and just put wadding behind the tennis ball. Heck ya it'll shoot! Go for the tennis ball launcher and put a video up when your done of it actually shooting!

Haha. I checked it out at a hardware store - the tennis ball doesn't need to be jammed down the barrel, but if you kinda shake the pipe etc it moves down...is that enough pressure? I'm planning on painting it olive drab and everything so it looks like a military rocket launcher lol, but in my country they're frowned upon by the law so I wouldn't be able to make a vid on it =[

@poopdollar1000 Not into the "spark thingy", it should be at the end of the PVC barrel. You can make sure it doesn't go in too far by cutting your push rod shorter than your PVC barrel.

Please please, for the love of god people DO NOT use starting fluid, starting fluid is ether, the most dangerous fluid you can buy without a license... Go buy a can of hairspray, it is much safer, ether is so bad for you to breath and it's so unpredictable and combustible, and as for an ignition source, go to a sporting good store and buy a lantern igniter it's a brass lighter like a zippo only meant to ignite remotely saving you from being burned and it's much more reliable because it doesn't

@codmasta... "starting fluid" can be purchased at any auto parts store. Its real use is for starting engines that have sat around for a loooong time and dont want to start. A quick spray of it down a carburator or engine intake and the engines start right up. Its just "ether" in a can. Works great on potato guns too!

Ok so I took it to ace HardWare and they replaced it because they could not get it on either. So now my 3rd problem I believe. I have both wires connected to the igniter, Should I drill 2 holes, 1 for the red wire on top of the combustion chamber, and one on the side of the combustion chamber and feed the black wire through it?

I also have an issue with the ignitor. It came with a red with and a black wire. The black wire fits the tip of the ignitor, while the red doesnt. There is a metal piece coming out of the side but neither fit it. I don't really know what to do.

@colton8r I never had a problem with the wire not fitting on the metal tab on the side. Sounds like they messed up putting the right wire in the package. Take the ignitor to any hard ware store and ask for a wire connector that fits the metal tab off the ignitor. They normally have a colored (red, blue, yellow) plastic sleeve that can be crimped around a wire holding it in place. The metal end should insert onto the tab. You'll only need a pair of pliers to crimp the connector in place.

hey man, i built the gun this past weekend, and for some reason the spark generator will not generate a spark, which is why the gun isn't working. do you have any suggestions as to what I can do or why it is not working?

@P1azmaa I would double check your wiring. Then check to see if the gap is too big. If your have a used red button ignitor it might be worn out. The spark could be jumping across the wires at a point before the chamber. Can you post a link to a picture or it? You can always use a flint ignitor used on lanterns. Best of luck.

@P1azmaa That's probably the problem. Personally I wouldn't put them more than an 1/8" apart. Since you're going to have to take the electrodes apart, I'd attach them to a vice (anything you can easily change the distance) to see how far it will make the arch. Rule of Thumb: for every inch of gap it will take 1,000 volts to make the arch. I'm not sure how much grill ignitors put out in volts but it doesn't seem like more than 1k volts. Anyone know how many volts this puts out?

K.I.S.S.---Keep It Simple Stupid! Go with 2" pipe for a barrel, a 2 1/2" piece of pipe for the chamber. the key is the chamber length. I found 8" works great. Choice of propellant: Aqua Net hair spray...red can. As for ignition, a coleman lantern lighter...which you mount to the lantern...and twist with your finger and thumb....mounted in the tailcap. Hours of fun....and pounds of potatoes! And NEVER EVER POINT IT AT A PERSON!

@trashassassin 1. Check to see if there is a spark on your grill ignition posts inside the chamber 2. Try a different spray... like "gum-out" 3. Keeping your body away from the open cap!!! see if you can the spray to ignite in the chamber without putting the screw cap on.
