This kind of stuff, did not go over well in America. But those who saw the light saw vintage Roxy Music here. This is what it was all about back in 1973, at least for certain people. This was the starting point. You either got it or you didn't.Bands that did ran with it. John Taylor saying when he first saw Roxy he couldn't believe his eyes. He never saw anything like it before. It's just too bad it never really caught on in the states. Those that did it changed everything for them.
No need to be sorry, that's also one of my favourites. I just think this is a classic album and one that everyone should have in their collection. Cheers.
Between Ferry's singing, the inane but clever lyrics, Eno's synth solo and Manzanera's buzzsaw riffage, this forecasts everything from punk to new wave to hair metal to Guided by Voices. Unreal. Also, theoretical bullshit aside, this kicks ass to listen to.
My favourite track from the "For Your Pleasure" album.Bought this album back in the 70's and highly recommend it to any true Roxy fans. They where in a different class back then and so original. Go out and add this album/cd to your collection.
Last night I went to see Roxy in Sydney Entertainment Centre with my Dad (Who is 62) and let me tell you, it was an exotic masterpiece & an incredible personal experience for me. 10/10. (:-D
(Oh & the dancing background girls were a nice sexy touch) Roxy Music wouldn't have it any other way....
@caronofbrid1957 Nice! With the 20 cycle thing that young bands tend to follow (listening to thier folks records etc.), no one has tried to tackle the Roxy trip. Might have to do it myself :P

Eno's outfit is excellent. But it hides his wings.

Why are there no comments for this.? Seems a very rare, early performance.
