@Slezi2007 I'm pretty sure that The Last Guardian was released after WC3 was nearly done. TLG retconned his death, as in WC1 it was indeed a squad of soldiers as seen here.

Medivh was born to take his mothers power and Sargarus was in him when she gave him the power Sargarus took over his body and well let the orcs into Azeroth. Khadgar who was his apprentice figuered out Sargarus and him and Lothar killed medivh now Medivh is again back but without sargarus's corruption to give out warning

actually Medivh was killed before then ressurected because of his Mother. His mother Magna (somthin) died cause she gave the rest of the powers to her grandson meaning "her life". Medivh died once again,this time by his apperentiece Khadgar and memoriable warrior named Lothar. :D
