  • DE LA SOUL!!!!!!

  • OLD TIME RAP IS THE BET AND DE LA OUL ROCKS! Today's scene sucks!

  • im sick of the shit out today i wish, there was more of this original hip hop

  • People, and especially all of you young wannabe thugs, THIS, is what REAL rap is!! No gansta shit.... If you wanted to be better than the next guy, you brought a new rap, not a Glock 19! De La Soul ROCKS !!!!

  • (Bass) "Fat Larry's Band - act like you know"

  • @Brine7Q Actually "Help Is On The Way" by The Whatnauts, but Fat Larry's Band did their thing with that bassline too.

  • Damn, 10 people have horrible taste in music.

  • put´s da hora

  • Oh god, they were so awkward back then. Their stage presence has improved so much since then.

  • @TaylorTayMusic you're joking right

  • Fuck de la soul

  • fuk yeah

  • It seems like mtv uses their channel to do everything BUT play music nowadays....

  • surprising..rappers who actually have a band. this is the only rap i can respect as music.

except its still entirely focused on the vocals when they could use those instruments to full potential

  • @freddiebarry93 that's what Rap is Rap the focus is the vocals, this was s show that MTV did it was called Unplugged and they provided a house Band and Please know that Hip Hop is a respected form of Music your Voice is an Instrument.

  • @hdizzel9 yes i know the voice is an instrument. but rappers don't use their voice as an instrument. instead its more like talking in a rhythmic way to a beat and rhyming...which sounds pretty cool. it does sound cool, i was obsessed with rap for years and i still enjoy listening to it from time to time but its not my kind of music. i prefer music that uses vocals AND instruments that are continuous and not repetitive. the only continuous instrument in rap music is the vocals which isn't enough

  • zajebiste:D

  • das ist geile mucke.

  • i think i saw this guys on Mariah Carey concert...

  • WOW SUPER WOW !

  • love dat song

  • This video was done almost 20 years ago. Still amazing. They were one of the first to actually try this. As you can see, it worked.

  • man...De La rips it

I don't know why people keep pretending like everyone was dope in their day

Ton Loc, Young MC, Vanilla were ALL wack and POPULAR

it's the same now as it was

dig a little deeper for the real

  • MTV is so terrible. MTV Unplugged was an incredible show, and they canceled it. Look at the bs they air now. All these Unplugged performances are great. This De La Performance is EXACTLY what live hiphop is supposed to sound like. LL Cool J ripped it on Unplugged, too

  • Aw, they were so much fun at Bumbershoot this year.

  • damn these dudes are so good at rappin

  • Looks like I am going to break out 3 Feet High... And ...Is Dead albums this week.

    Great performace.

  • that is great. they rely on the strength of the material and are able to perform it convincingly without any gimmicks- the real deal seldom seen

  • great era for rap!

  • Wow, well regardless of all of these too-serious people, this is one of the best Hiphop groups to ever bless the mic and thank you for posting this video.

  • Band is killin' it. nice.

  • ...real hip hop... this is how it supposed to sound like

  • I like acustic hip hop like this man, acustic hip hop is good.

  • Great find! Classic De La.

  • say hey ya! if you had this on the answering machine back in the day!

  • Great memories... just great ones!!!

  • Classic hiphop track right here.

haha....what a classic, good live performance as well.

    5 stars

  • In an area code.. a phone number is provided.. a 9 digit secret area zone.. an answering machine or a text for a fool who responds to this dog of a bone.. individual will feel alone in a party pluck the guitar the strum.. dance this song excites the slums of dark corners where i'm from... many a producer many a director will rewind and pride an accomplishment into an alien movement unknown

  • this song is smooth

  • good song

    thanks for posting

  • good song, de la soul is dope

  • good

  • I know I'm not the only one that had the hook on my answering machine back in the day....
