@amyntage LSU had one second left before they snapped the ball. it takes at least a second to snap the ball and spike it, therefore no time left. where as texas had 1 second left when the ball landed out of bounds giving them one second to win it, which they did. i'm a husker fan and as much as it pains me to say it... (sigh) it was the right call. see you in october.
That was a cheap win, but I swear, they have a HORRIBLE kicker. Henery made it through every time except ONCE and Texas either didn't make it or was so close to losing it, just like their last field goal. I have huge respect for Nebraska they are a very god collegiate school unlike Texas. The horns barley beat Nebraska, and I can tell you -5 Alabama is pretty much free money. Alabama will beat Texas by at least 14 points, they have no chance to win this game. I think its a horrible match up. The game of the year will be Florida and Boise. If Boise wins we will all be that much closer to a playoff system vs this stupid BCS.
As a Nebraska fan, this hurts. "ONE SECOND on the clock." However, if Texas wins the National Championship, it'll make the Cornhuskers look good too. So, Go Longhorns!
Big XII rule book stats that time can not be added to the clock unless a play is over-turned. No play was overturned = no added second.. no added second = no Texas cheap win. anyway.. grats texas, have fun getting your asses handed to you by Bama.. Bamas secondary and LB core is alot better, and Bama has an offense.. i see the NCG ending.. 38 - 16 Bama.
I would like Texas to win. But it just won't happen i think.. Bama has alot better of a secondary then NU. Maybe McCoy will be able to expose it due to the fact the bama line isn't near as good as NU line is. but Bama will be sending pressure every play most likely.. Bama has a pretty good offense.. obviously.. they made one of the top ranked defenses in the nation look like high school kids playing.. I don't think Texas stands a chance.
Texas players will hear that all of the month. Just like the Texas players of 2005 did and the Ohio State players of 2002 did. Bama played great against Florida. But they had games like this as well (Tennessee).
ya..i kinda posted that still upset from the loss.. drove all the way down to texas and it just seemed that everything was for texas.. everytime NU fans would get a chant going.. the load screen would go to a commercial or they'de blast music.. seemed quiet when Texas started chants though.. and i dont know if it was me but half of those pass interference calls looked like complete BS..
1 was very questionable. The other one was not. When you put your hands on the receiver while the ball is still in the air and you do not turn around and even try to make a play on the ball, you are interfering. It was the right call on one of those interceptions. Texas did get screwed on the Goodwin thing though.
refer to the LSU game a few years back.. they drove to the 15.. spiked the ball clearly with 1 second left on the clock and the refs let it go and LSU lost the game.. if you're going to make a rule on time then you should have to use a mili-second clock.. so then anything 0.4 or below, ruled to 0, anything 0.5 or above you add a second on.

the rule also state that the clock stops when the ball hits the ground so it was the correct thing to do
