  • Not too big of a fan of legalizing the heavy drugs, but weed definately needs to be legalized. I dont smoke it myself but legalizing it would have economic and safety benefits as well as expand peoples freedoms. I cant recall any government decision being able to claim to do the same.

  • People need to use their brains when it comes to Drugs and arguments; for or against them. If i, a 15 year old kid, Could come up with basically this same argument in a class debate I'm sure Others could Come up with their own opinions instead of stating and basically repeating exactly what you see on tv and Hear from government officials about drugs... Use your brains people don't follow whatever information that gets thrown in your face.

  • @Affendarm And you dont have to be addicted to cause problems; the effects of taking a drug, legal or illegal, can affect your decision making, so making it more likely for you to do something stupid or harmful if you're overconfident or cant think clearly.

  • @Affendarm I understand your point. However, judging that there are people who can get addicted, should we really just legalise them all? Thats like saying we should have no speed limits, because most people will still drive safe, and it should be our choice as to what speed we drive... Im sure you can see the problem there. Deterrence by punishment is not the answer, but until we have a proper one we shouldnt just legalise everything.

  • 404 inhumane cunts have watched this video

  • Ron Paul is the only candidate who wants to legalise drugs on a federal level

  • @BizarreBros There has never been a single recorded death from weed EVER! Don’t believe me, look it up! If it was sooo deadly then my is it sold as medicine? So the next time you reply to me try to use facts. Not that bullshit that you’re spewing out your gabber mouth.

  • @BizarreBros you’re really that dumb are you? You think just because the government and gov paid commercials say that marijuana is addictive, makes you have dumb decisions and is dangerous, that its true right? Wrong, very, very wrong. Marijuana is proven to be less addictive then alcohol, cigarettes, and even fucking coffee! There has been 435,000 annual deaths from Tobacco. 85,000 deaths from Alcohol. And even 7,600 deaths from Aspirin. And guess how many deaths from marijuana? ZERO, NONE!

  • @BizarreBros That's the dumbest thing I've heard, unless you have all the answers

  • @BareFistBrawler480AZ then i guess i have all the answers?

  • @BizarreBros im not talking about thoughts, im talking about freedom. being able to make decisions without someone trying to put you in jail, or say that your a junkie. that's what freedom is. And if you think using marijuana is weak then your ignorant.

  • @DovahkiinMaster seriously? when there are people in this world killing themselves with drugs (and yes weed too) not only by overdose but also by impaired decision making and you think they are taking freedom away? the protrect us. they are not meant to put us in jail they are meant to help us. i dont do drugs and im happier than ive ever been. im not addicted to anything, i have tons more money than i would if i was, and im healthier than i ever have been.

  • @BizarreBros Under your account description it reads "Books: People still read?". You should probably pick one up because your logic is terrible and your facts are wrong.

  • Support Ron Paul's run.

  • @Johnoines While I'm very pleased with his stance on drugs, I am however very displeased that he doesn't believe in the separation of the State and the Church; two things that I believe should remain separated.

  • @SpuxyMojo I believe that you are wrong, but thanks for your feedback. Paul has stated that he is a christian but that it has no place in politics. This was his response to Santorum who does believe that religion does have a place in US politics.

  • It's not controlling and outlawing that will work. It's education and regulation that does way more good in the end. As already proven.

  • good stuff!!!

  • Graham Hancock is a genius. I found out about him a few months ago. He along with Terence Mckenna and Bruce Lipton have changed the way i think forever

  • i agree, but its when the use of these drugs can cause to the suffering of others is what is hard to deal with

  • if we took money out of the equation, would drugs be all that bad. Meaning if the you could buy a pound of pot, coke, heroin, meth, or whatever for a dollar then would drugs be all that bad. Think about it people on drugs only commit crimes because they need money to get more except alcohol.

  • I agree with nearly everything said in this video, but there is a problem with thinking we can legalise all drugs. The problem is, by exploring our own consciousness with drugs, we can still affect others and ruin their lives too, without them ever having done anything to deserve it - the war on drugs may not be right, but we cant ignore drugs either. You say we can punish them after they have done something wrong, but isnt this the wrong mindset? We should try to deal with the cause.

  • @Xirozorix I get what you mean, but I disagree on the point that drugs themselves are the root cause for these dangers. Happy, well-adjusted people are very rarely the ones to develop a crippling addiction. From my experience there are almost always other problems (internal or external) that lead to destructive drug use in the first place.

This is coming from someone who has spent more time under the influence of various substances than sober, in the last 10-ish years.

  • Like bar looks like a splif...

  • So true. If you can be peace with other peoples when you have used some drugs, You would be able to be without prison. Using drugs, is your choice =)

  • Nice work dude. That turned out unreal

  • You must be really ignorant to dislike this...

  • Logical fallacies everywhere

  • @1ApertureRealist Hmm like what?

  • @nd646 "Upset irrationally" of the experimental evidence re Drugs negative effects.

"Exploring our consciousness" through an external substance rather than introspection

"Sovereignty over your own mind" implies we're in control of anything

"ruin our lives with criminal records" (That you knew would happen)

We have no right to be anything but perfect in the eyes of the state. Totalitarian, benevolent dictator states are the inevitable future of humanity.

  • @1ApertureRealist How the hell are those logical fallacies? All your points are insensible. What's illogical is a state dictating what personal habits are or are not acceptable. What's illogical is putting somebody in prison, effectively ruining their life, because they grew a PLANT. Introspection is magnified exponentially under the aid of entheogens, and plant entheogens are relatively safe. Sovereignty means ABSOLUTE control over ones own mind and body. Period. Your comment is utter nonsense.

  • what's the name of the sonng?

  • @Crazysamtify nvm, found it hahaha sorry guys!

  • no one agrees with idiot war unless they are profiting from it.

  • Fuck you obama

  • to many people to high up have there hands in this stuff so of course the government wont stop it which means they dont care.. in essesnce anyway.

  • IF WE DECLARE WAR ON EDUCATION WE'D ALL GET HOOKED ON PHONIX! IDT BE A GOOD THING ! HUH? HUH?

  • 403 empty vessels. . .

  • the problem with drugs is that when people needs the drugs and don't have the money they begin to steal.

  • @Marcatolegato watch the video again....

  • @Marcatolegato because the price is increased through war on drugs.

  • @Marcatolegato Depends what drugs you're talking about, but even still, people make choices, not drugs. You can't blame substance, you just have to accept the fact that there are people that make bad choices in life. Psychedelics(weed, shrooms, LSD, DMT) don't have chemically addictive properties that turn people into thieving junkies. Thats heroine, crack, pills, etc. If addictiveness is the problem, then alchohol, ciggarettes, and caffeine should be illegal.

  • @TheMMAGeek yeah I think you're right. People tend to throw all drugs in the same box. But you have natural drugs like weed and shrooms and you have stuff like heroine that is chemically manipulated. why is alcohol legal when it fucks you up more then weed

  • ron paul 2012

  • What is the name of the piano song playing in the backround?

  • @marius800 its in the description

  • @marius800 Nuvole Bianche -Ludovico Einaudi

  • RON PAUL. 12'.

  • 403 people don't care about freedom.

  • @DovahkiinMaster make that 404. if you cant use your thoughts to its fullest without drugs then you are weak.

  • @BizarreBros "Use your thoughts to the fullest", as if you have any idea what that means you absurd little drone. Opposer of freedom. Live your shallow life, and may your ilk die off quickly, you are a hinderance on our species.

  • I used this speech as an inspiration for answering to some questions in school.

My teacher gave me an A for my answers regarding the US government.

(I'm not living in the USA)

Now show me one more person who tells me that EVERY drug using person is an idiot.

  • Damn I wish everyone would listen to this. Don't understand how people can be so brainwashed to think that it's okay to intervene in other peoples life's. Liberty for all!

  • Declaring a war on drugs is about as effective as declaring a war on sadness.

It's just a goddamned money sink.

  • @knotwrite there should be a war on drugs. But the people need to fight it not the government. The Chemical drugs that is they are wrong and horrible for you. Especially if the government imports it to the country.

  • Portugal is a good example. They've legalised everything, and drugs have become passe'.

  • The 'War on Drugs' is not meant to be won. Like the 'War on Terror', it is meant to be continued. The US government could get rid of almost all illegal drugs tommorrow if it wanted to. But it doesn't. It imports the heroin from Afghanistan to Mexico and the USA in order to justify endless borrowing from the banks, endless military expenditure, and imprisoning millions of people.

  • @historypoliticsbb Afghanistan to Mexico? Mexico gets most of it's drugs from Colombia farmers.

  • @bleedthepure Correct, but most of the heroin comes from Afghanistan.

  • Air is the greatest mind-altering drug. They haven't figured out a way to ban that yet, but give it time

  • Who is the narrator in this video?

  • @npanther22 I believe it is Graham Hancock as mentioned in the title

  • @npanther22 "The War on Drugs" explained by Graham Hancock?..

  • Very well said, Graham. Clearly there is an ulterior motive.

  • @suanne17 Agreed.

  • for those who still believe the ridiculous myth that cannabis is 'a dangerous drug', please research Endocannabinoid System. Everyone has NATURAL Cannabinoid Receptors. Our brain, nervous sytem, immune system (basically our entire body) have a network of 'cannabinoid-specific' receptors. in other words, our bodies produce/use this stuff NATURALLY. the cannabis PLANT simply helps/heals our body's natural endocannabinoid system (ALL mammals have natural cannabinoid receptors, even fish.

  • cannabis is a medicine - not a drug. indeed, if you look into it, you'll discover that the plant has been part of our pharmacopeia for much of human history. the plant actually HEALS us. in fact, marijuana has never, in the history of humankind, harmed a single person. not ever. there are NO recorded deaths from 'marijuana overdose'. the plant is a harmless medicine, and not physically-addictive (unlike alcohol, opiates and pharmaceuticals which kill thousands every year).

  • I want to give this man a hug.

  • 400 people need to do some research

  • this is the smartest thing i have ever fucking herd. make this man the fucking president

  • The war on drugs is an abomination and is no different than the segregation of blacks up until the late 60s. It's a direct violation of the Social Contract in that it gives us all the suffering without any of the benefits. I don't believe that drugs ruin ones life any more than alcohol (which is a drug as well). It's Uncle Sam and Johnny Law that tear families apart, give ppl records, and do nothing to fix their substance abuse. End this mad war now!

  • this video sums up my life jonny thank you peace man pea

  • Prev. comment careless. Chips need attention.

  • Drugs, traffic offences, prostitution. They're all offensive, but they are not deserving of the focus they have had. There are far more serious matters for tne state to focus on.

  • Dammit! Now I have to go smoke the last of my weed :( I'll have to get some more whatev see you guys

  • This is a great video. As a personal user of marijuana I try my hardest to remain as unbiased as possible. I look at the facts, advantages and disadvantages and approach the situation. That's, in fact, how I decided to try out pot. It was a life changing experience and I don't expect everyone to agree, instead I encourage them to set their opinions aside and objectively tell me why they disagree.

Same goes for smokers. Ganja is great, just know your facts before you try and argue & you will win.

  • Cannabis is being kept illegal as we speak because of giant pharma companies. Californian shops will be closed, Sativex (medicinal) will be released. They know the value, they are shaping it so it suits the companies. Its also illegal to grow your own vegetables, let alone weed, in states already.

  • torture the drug lords

  • Part 4: If you have managed to read all three parts, then this should be my last installment. I have just defined double think: a simultaneous belief in two contradictory ideas. This explains the people who are against legalizing marijuana. I myself don't advocate drug use, but it is completely hypocritical of them if they support not legalizing it. These people are ignorant and make Politicians who support this even stronger because of their ignorance. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.

  • Part 3: Yet, we have almost the exact same situation today with war on drugs, yet most people think that our modern prohibition is a good idea ... and more than that, they believe that anybody that thinks that the war on drugs isn't a good idea must be completely out of their minds. In order for a person to be effective at doublethink, they must master the art of crimestop. And yes, I was greatly influenced by the mind of George Orwell. He was a genius, unlike most politicians in america.

  • I have an answer that will take too much of my space, so it will be separated within two parts. How do I know, because I have already tried typing it and have passed the amount amount of characters I can use. So instead I used copy and pasty to make things much easier. This is just part one, me explaining myself how I can easily contradict war on drugs and why it's retarded. There will be three parts, and this is part one. I dare anyone to try and REFUTE my other parts.

  • I understand that pot/hemp was banned ultimately because of the logging industry.

  • @deniceinspain and because it was what mexican workers would use to get white women high and take advantage of them. The drug war seems to run parallel with this nonsense race war.

  • He worte about this in his book Fingerprints. So did Terrence Mckenna.

  • anyone got the piano?

  • The federal government is pure evil.

  • marijuana is fine, coke isn't

  • aside from physical ailments why do we need to use marijuana why cant we just have fun with out being high i have friends that all they wanna do is smoke weed i mean its fun sometimes but god damn you can do better things with your life, money and time.

America needs to learn moderation otherwise i say nay

  • i cant understand how people can call ganja a drug??

  • @clin37 To say that marijuana isn't a drug is acting no different than those who use the phrase "Drugs and alcohol". Segregating the two is misleading. A drug is a substance that has a physiological effect when ingested. However, that is not to say that there isn't a huge range in the effects some drugs have over others. It's just important that we don't try to differentiate between marijuana/alcohol and drugs. They are drugs. It's the attitude towards the word "drug" that needs to change.

  • @JonnyMacEachern ''It's the attitude towards the word "drug" that needs to change.'', thats what i meant, english is not my first language so i missunderstood the actual meaning of word 'drug'. in my country, only rare people treat marihuana as a drug, it more has a meaning of hard drugs

  • @JonnyMacEachern Exactly, marijuana is a drug, just like coffee, the problem is the negative association with the word, and in english at least drugs can refers to medicines, in spanish for example its a totally different word, that makes it easier to load with a negative image.

  • @baalshin I agree with you. And that's what I meant when I said "It's the attitude towards the word 'drug' that needs to change." People use the word as if all drugs share the same effect, which shouldn't be the case.

  • @JonnyMacEachern I was gonna reply with you, but baalshin pretty much summed it up.

  • @JonnyMacEachern You know what else has a physiological effect when ingested? Food.

  • @JonnyMacEachern It's funny how the program for a 'Drug Free America' is

funded primarily by the Alcohol and Tobacco companies.

  • @clin37 I hate it when people say weed isn't a drug because it obviously is and it makes the legalsiation movement sound like its composed of a bunch of stupid teenage pot smokers. Just because weed is a drug doesn't mean thats bad for instance caffeine is a drug that most of us take it every day without even noticing it.

  • @skylinefootball

I understand what you are saying, but cannabis is not a drug. It is a plant. However, the THC and other cannabinoids within the plant are certainly drugs. Just like coffee is not a drug, but caffeine is.

  • @CounterFleX then whats your fucking point. if you go around saying cannabis isn't a drug 99% of people will misinterpret what your saying because it is so literal its fucking stupid. Ok cannabis isn't a drug its just a plant that produces the drug. a duh!

  • @skylinefootball

Why are you so angry? You need to smoke.

  • @clin37 the same reason sugar, caffine ,alcohol, nicotine are called drugs, get educated on it. i totally support legalization but dont be ignorant. herb is a drug. thats not important, what is important is the misrepresentation and the criminalization of those who choose to use it. sure we can agree the "fact" gov gives us are false. and it is time to change that. smoke one for me. peace, cheers

  • The only reason marijuana is illegal is because it is a natural herb and since it is the pharmaceuticals can not patent it e.g. they cannot gain profit and that is the only thing that they care for. If they cared about other peoples lives, they would allow us to use marijuana to heal our chronic pain, depression, cancer, stress, etc. These symptoms can be cured by marijuana usage instead of taking pharmaceutical drugs which can kill you or make the problem worse.

  • Cannabis was used as a truth serum by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), a US government intelligence agency formed during World War II. In the early 1940s, it was the most effective truth drug developed at the OSS labs at St. Elizabeths Hospital; it caused a subject "to be loquacious and free in his impartation of information.

  • @JonnyMacEachern every drug both illegal and legal have 1 or 2 things in common.

    1.its habit forming

2.it can cause death through abuse

pot does neither therefore isnt a drug.

  • @kbforme Too bad that isn't the definition of a drug. I'm not against the ideas in this video, I uploaded it. I just can't stand to see people calling marijuana or alcohol not drugs.

  • @JonnyMacEachern alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs on the planet, the problem with pot is its misclassified as a drug so the average idiot in america hears drug and they say "DRUG BAD". so if i walk outside and smoke some random plant i find and it makes me light headed is that a drug too then? weed is no more a drug than an ear of corn is.

  • @kbforme If you want to continue making up your own definitions, then there's no point in me even arguing with you.

  • Comment removed

  • @solitaryman098 Go back a bit and read what I said.

  • @JonnyMacEachern Sorry, replied to the wrong comment

  • @solitaryman098 No problem, that's what I figured.

  • Comment removed

  • @kbforme hahahahah dude your pretty funny id like to give you a fucking hug

  • The government doesn't want us to know what is in our own minds. They are scared of us really thinking for ourselves.Look what they get away with!!!! To me a full blown psychedelic experience is a god givin human right.Has this been overruled by an "higher" authority? Love and peace (still)

  • I don't know about legalizing hard drugs, but decriminalization seems to be a more logical choice. As for marijuana? Its perception as a gateway drug is misleading. Examine the effects of alcohol, which is also a mind-altering substance; is it a gateway drug simply because of its effects? Because of its popularity and prevalence?

The United States survived and heavily flourished for about 150 years without drug criminalization laws, and the collapse of society somehow didn't occur.

    Gee.

  • "The sovereignty of the adult over his or her own body and his or her own mind trumps everything else"? So, if people want to drugs that will harm them or potentially kill them (I'm talking meth and other hard drugs), its their own choice? That's true. I say let the idiots of the world "make their own mistakes". If they die from it, at least they made their own mistakes. Isn't that right? You pathetic piece of shit.

  • @landonkrussell

How many people do you think don't look for help with their drug addiction because they are afraid of the legal consequences? Drug cartels make lots of money that they use to kill and rape people because drugs are illegal. Don't those lives count?

  • What is that picture in 4:20? ironic lol, but anyone?

  • 1960 10% approval 2011 50% approval. The war is lost.

  • Great stuff man.

  • Fine man and fine podcast, but I must stop and give a thumbs down only due to the soundtrack. Musical background in speeches and lectures are for children.

  • Best jre yet I reckon, great stuff. Trussell is the man for the more serious ones, Redban seems out of his depth when they talk about anything but titties and weed.

  • 393 people disliked lol..humanity must grow upp and stop ignoring that many things that are considered wrong are right and the other way around..because of repeating a lie that should be easy to see right away...common we need to evolve..all people should have the right to eat and smoke whatever plants and drugs they want to as long as they are well informed ..prison for marjjuana?!..that's sick

  • The argument always comes up that you shouldn't make weed legal because then people would be smoking and driving, well people drink and drive right?

And from experiences for myself and many other who have told me, being high it is MUCH easier to drive a car then being drunk and driving.

Your motor skills are WAY more dulled when on alcohol.

  • marijuana is more healthy than tobacco and booze, yet the marijuana is illegal.

  • @SneakyCheese8 Correct. Alcohol is the 5th most dangerous drug. Weed is 11th. Weed is also not physically addictive. No one has overdosed on weed, because you would have to ingest approx. 3.5kg in the space of 15mins. This is physically impossible. Yet, 250k overdose on alcohol. Over the decades, people have just been too brainwashed. Take my parents for example. They think it's alright for booze to be legal, but they think if weed is legalized, everyone would always be high. Misconceptions...

  • @mazhas08 It's sad but I think there will be change when our grandparents

    bite the dust.

They came from a hard-working time with their own struggles but they have been

brainwashed by the state to believe what is not true.

It's sad what humans will do to each other..

  • @SneakyCheese8 Marijuana isn't "more healthy" than tobacco and alcohol, it's less damaging than them. That doesn't mean it's better for you. It's like saying breaking your leg is more healthy than having a stroke.

  • @solitaryman098 like how? the chances of getting cancer from smoking tobacco are way higher plus there is no poisons like cynaide in marijuana. and how many people you have heard die from overdosing marijuana? yeah none. compared that to alcohol thats kinda lot. the side effects of marijuana are that you become happy and sometimes it makes you want to eat, it is not somekind of crazy drug that media makes it look like.

  • @SneakyCheese8 Actually not true. Marijuana doesnt have a filter as tobacco does and will still affect the lungs because of the smoke. Also, people tend to hold the smoke longer than they do with cigarettes.

The only part I agree with this video is the section with laws. Anyone should be able to use taxable drugs if youre older than 21 or 18.

  • @Kwakobo why don't you read my comment again, I said the chances of getting cancer from tobacco is higher. and who said you can't put a filter in the joint?

  • @SneakyCheese8 No, you just said its more healthy. And most people (like almost everyone) do(es) not use a filter on a joint.

  • @SneakyCheese8 that is a shitty argument. Should everything that causes less deaths than alcohol and tobacco be legal?

  • @suihkubad That's a shitty argument! He's not saying that purely because it causes less deaths mean that it should be legal, but that's one thing to consider.

  • make weed legal to smoke in your own home but illegal to grow unless your a cartel leader so everyone is happy!

also coke and meth can only be imported from colombia like in scarface.

  • Why is marijuana illegal seriously? Some drugs are bad and some are fine. As long as it doesnt affect others directly i dont see a problem. When some one says drugs the majority of the people automatically think bad and negative.

  • Why is there government-funded anti-drug propaganda in the "promoted video" slot of the related videos?

Typically full of lies and the kind of half-truths that prove they don't have a CLUE what they are talking about.

    "Skunk is a modified kind..."

"It's from the plant Cannabis Sativa" - well, except the Indica ones.

More lies about drugs from the "people who know best".

  • wow, perfect

  • Where did you get the piano piece?

  • @WillReid16 It's Nuvole Bianche by Einaudi
