  • commercial helicopters havent got such a great safety record, a home made one? Looks fun but death is not my thing at the moment

  • dont for get to practice auto-rotation, what is the price on that?

  • It would be REALLY GREAT if some helicycle owners posted some inflight videos taken from a helmet cam or a camera mounted on the side of the fuselage.

  • put a jet engine in one to get that forward momentum! }:)

  • ima buy oone when i get aa licences

  • These little things are bad ass!!! I love them!!! Haha! I don't need to lose weight.

  • Hail B.J. Schram, the inventor-man-mind behind the Helicycle. (I hope I spelled name right)

  • 38 k is not expensive, if you held 38k in your hand it would not hover you in the air, think of how shitty the cars we all buy and throw them away after 7 years are, and one of these will still be worth heeps after 7 years,

  • Useful payload 220 lbs? Ouch! I need to lose some weight...

  • put a bigger engine in it! lol

  • Why were these not brought to my attention sooner? Throw me a fricken bone here...

  • @masscashstacks Sorry. We were slacking off again...

  • we should all have these instead of cars

  • judging by the way people drive today, what makes you think that they can fly a heliciopter any better XD

  • @igotbored44 i was watching a program about life in the extremes last week, which included some auzzie guys who heard cattle using these tiny copters. the guys where flying insanely low and fast, swerving between tries. apparently, about ten of them die per year, which wouldn't surprise you if you'd seen what they were doing. but each heard of meatbags earns them over a million squids.

  • @lexichronicle2

Realy? Dang. I gotta find a video of that!

  • @darkblue126 imagine the accidents lol there would be 9/11 attacks everyday

  • American always have a funny and fasinating life!

  • Personal helicopter? so you keep it in your wallet?

  • lol

  • holy hell 38k is expensive, might as well try to find a cheap used one or a mini 500. what do you (viewers) think?!

  • Comment removed

  • damn...MAX weight is 220bls...guess I'm going to have to lose some weight..seeing as I'm a tad over the 220lb limit! :-)

  • gas-turbine!?.... thats awesome!

Can u buy aftermarket Gatling-Gun kits for these??

  • duct tape and some airsoft gun with wired up servos on the triggers to shoot from the controls

  • lol at gatling gun. msybe for airsoft skirmishes you can bring the helicycle with a echo1 minigun on the bottom!

  • Of Course! Wal-mart carries a huge selection of after market "gatling-gun" kits. You nincompoop...

  • @joerayrenteria They have to be imported from China.

  • @marek0086

A guy mounted two semi Ak47s with 50 round drums. They were moutned upside down.

  • @marek0086 No only tomohawk missle launchers .... SORRY

  • my only concern is that as I understand it they dont qualify under light sport. Which means they cant be legally flown???

  • I think it just means that you can't fly it in and out of airports, or in controlled airspace.

  • no, unless empty weight is under 254lbs you have to have an n number or its illegal.

  • Helicopters are not included in the light sport category. They are not ultralights or LSA. If you have a recreational, private, commercial or ATP with a rotorcraft helicopter rating, you can fly them. They can also be flown out of controlled airports and in controlled airspace.

  • Personally if I was asked to fly this I would shit my pants. I mean everything's cool if it stays up... but a backyard-built helicopter? I hope they come with a free parachute every purchase.

  • TAKE THAT TOLL BOOTHS!!!

  • nice song choice man, i hardley ever here good beatles in these songs. great RESPECT THE APPLE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have like 1000 like those in my backyard just i dont use them anymore ,i use rockets now thay are more faster ^^

  • how much ti cost?

  • it's Increible, but fom where can I buy one of these helicopters witch turbine?

  • From where can I Buy one of these Helicopters?

  • i have one of this helicycles, i fly to my work sometimes.

  • yeah..i saw you that one day flying to work. small world.

  • it would definitly would get you out of paying those stupid parking fees. just fly over the gate

  • MY T-REX 600N flys smoother and faster than that and it only cost me $1500

  • If only you had a trex 5000. you could ride in it

  • lol i agree !!!!

  • what it carries a person.......??

  • No honey, I'd take you but you need to loose some weight and width to fit in with me.

  • precioso!

    cuanto vale?

  • WOW

  • I want 1 how much £?

  • estan de poca madre estos aparatos alguien me puede decir cuanto cuestan y donde lo puyedo conseguir

  • do you need license to fly this?

  • I think it's considered an ultra-light aircraft, so I don't think you do.

  • no actually it is not a ultralight aircraft, its minimum gross weight is 500lbs.

  • wher can you get thes?

  • Think i would have the mini 500 over this....

  • Woah, back up. The ENTIRE reason BJ designed this helicopter was because the mini-500 was killing people and the helicopter needed a safe aircraft.

  • Fair enough, but I would never call any home built helicopters "safe"

Low interia rotor systems no crash protection..... not for me thanks.

    Rather fly a real helicopter

  • Depends on your definition of "safe." Besides, if you make it to your standards it should be good. I agree with you though, a Eurocopter or Bell would float my boat better, but for price and training alone, kits are golden.

  • take it from me, when you make your own things, you feel better using it cause you know how to use it better

  • I'll start buying personal flight toys when they come out with wing attachments for human arms, so you can actually flap your way off the ground.

I'd go for the Batman-style wings, too. Gliding works for me.

Maybe a mini-hang-glider attachment on your back, AND arm-wings? I don't know what would work. I need to teach myself some physics.

  • you dont need physics if you have god. stupid

  • Well, if you want to go from that direction, God invented physics, didn't he? He wouldn't break his own rules.

  • it as a joke. you can also say god the bible says god is perfect... and then you see how he got the perfect first testament wrong, and had to make another... and if you think it sthe last one your crazy, the christian religion has to change to survive. most christians accept that the earth is more than about 6000 years old these days, which is going to send them to hell(they dont think so but thats because they dont listen to the bible)

  • I don't know why we've popped into this discussion. But since we're here, I'll continue: I'd say that it doesn't matter whether the Earth is 6,000 or 5 billion years old. The importance of the creation story is to explain something about what it is to be human. That story has truth in it regardless of its factual nature.

I'm fine discussing this, but out of respect for other users here, I'd prefer that we discuss this thru private messages than here, where our words are total non-sequitars.

  • i agree with the moral teachings of the bible, but it scares me when people take it as what really happened, you have to ignore a lot of discoveries made since the bible(ignorance). i mean if you want to talk about it ill do it but im not sure what there is to talk about anymore.

  • Nah, I agree with you. I think I just misunderstood your previous comment.

  • exactly how much are these things?

  • 600 dollars but... you have to put it together by yourself

  • Sweet, would like to have one with Electric motor, just like my HBK II brushless of course lol. really, I would love one of these fine machines! just that I'm a workig Trucker guy, so cash is always a problem, which sucks because a Veteran should never have to live paycheck to paycheck! US Gov. needs to cough up some cash!

  • hell yeah HBKII brushless, mee too. for those who are wondering they are 38,000 for the kit. then you got to think about insurance, fuel, maintenance and capital for tools originally. the grand total comes out to roughly a cost of: "who cares if you have the money these things rock". 160hp derated, 220lb seat loading, 350lbs. useful load, with a turbine. im am jealous.

  • I hate the beatles!!!! How stupid

  • I would Run away from home and go to japan lol with that

  • want one

  • How much ?

  • i wish i could have one

  • wow it looks like a huge r/c helicopter

  • i love the beatles

  • Looks very cool, But please lose the stupid music. Just show us what it can do!

  • WhiteyBDragon, its the Beatles. The Beatles are great, since when have they been stupid. You're stupid if you think that. Music wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for them.

  • Well music might not be what it is today without The Beetles but if definitely would not be what it is today without Elvis.

  • Oh yeah, thats definitely true. There would be no Beatles without Elvis. But we cant forget Chuck Berry.

  • I agree with that!

  • i like it

  • looking good!!!
