HP and Torque aren't the only factors involved with power being put to the road. How the car is geared is going to make a huge difference (tranny and rear), Aerodynamics, Weight, Traction, etc. If you were older than 17 you'd know this.
FYI, with a properly installed Greddy TT the Z will put out over 600 hp (since you like #'s) and run 10 sec 1/4's, still cheaper than your srt8. Oh, and that's not even a 2007. ;)

The Greddy TT system for the 2007 350Z is rated at 700+ hp, I just found out. That's more than double the stock amount for only $8k, and still under $36k on a base model Z. With all of that weight you are talking about, you are going to have to make some MASSIVE hp to overcome 700 hp in a Z. In a drag race or a top speed race, it isn't going to matter. I'll send you a link to the Greddy info if you like, it wouldn't accept my comment with the link in it.
However, the 2007+ Z's are 3600lbs... 3600lbs for 306hp? The Corvette base has 400hp, and weighs 3200lbs. This is the main reason why I am getting a 2004 350z.

Not to sure which one is better. I went with mine due to the hook up I got on it and it looks more stock. The greddy is nice as well as the HKS.

its timpossible than a 306 hp 35.5 v6 engine than a 425hp 6.1 V8 engine (taking out the weight of both cars) see srt8 vs 350z... have fun

No, they aren't. The base 2007 starts at 3300. The convertible MIGHT creep close to 3600.
