  • cool

  • love it

  • BREAk!

  • badass.........

  • Actually I just listened to it on the big speakers & the bassist keeps playing a rather horrid howler which spoils it a bit. Bolan's guitar playing is absolutely rocking though.

  • This is fucking even better than the single!

  • Sounds dirty, raw, messy, nasty etc etc.........i love it!!!

  • bar band sounds, but me likes. raw

  • Siouxsie Sioux's a huge Marc Bolan fan. She's cited the album this single's from, "Electric Warrior" ,as her favourite rock album of all time. Not that she's a clone (she's a great singer in her own right), but it's evident his singing style influenced hers. She often likes to do that Bolan-esque quavery vibrato thing often at the end of song lines, just like Marc!

  • it needed flo and eddie.... .its synced pretty good

  • @chukcanuk right on bro, high 5 to another flo and eddie fan...no coincidence, marc took off the same time they dropped in for a few albums.

  • it needed flo and eddie....

  • like the raunchy sound of this video nice upload ...M Bolan musical genius

  • Thanks for uploading this I think its a really cool version

    Cheers

  • great sync honeysprite...

  • Dirty Sweeeeeet!

  • Fucking great upload...like the video game effect.

  • so raw yet so damn sexy...the song and Marc...creative genius..

  • so raw yet so damn sexy...the song and Marc...creative genius..

  • when i saw him live at Winterland in SF his guitar was unplugged for a good 5 min before he noticed - he held the cord up and laughed and plugged it in - RIP Marc Bolan

  • love the bass line on this version!

  • It DISGUSTS me how under-rated Bolan's contribution to music is considered He WAS in no uncertain terms a shape-shifter and game changer; his work was Pioneering and brilliant! When David Bowie worships someone you KNOW it's legit...

  • Nice one HoneySprite!I like the rawness of this one better

  • I liked the "Little Queenie" bit at the end!

  • An excellent upload! Bravo! Terrible mic he's singing on, though. Hisses like a bitch on the S's, almost makes him sound like he has a lisp.

  • fantastic! anyone have 'Raw Ramp'? Px

  • Escaped Fucking "WMG" cunts,nice.

  • He shouldn't have lent his roller out that night, he'd have been a lot safer in that than a mini. Was Gloria Jones ever charged with drink driving after the crash ??

  • She was never charged and denies that they had been drinking. She says she simply hit a bad place in the road and lost control. She had injuries but obviously mild in comparison to his fatal injuries.

  • am 25 and this group inspires me so much why must the greats die young?

  • I often wondered what happened to him.. didnt know he had passed

  • As in passed on. . .died? 1977 in a car crash and his girlfriend

  • wow I was busy raising babies and some Hell back in those days.. thanks for the info!!!Now I am spoiling granbabies, riding my bike and STILL raising Hell!!

  • LOVE IT. The irreplaceable Mr Feld could do no wrong. Love and miss you sweetpea. Gx

  • Excellent version, especially with the dry acoustics-Drums and guitar.Marc, we love your music and I believe we'll still be listening to T.Rex in the 22nd century.RIP

  • ohhhh i love that vintage crunchy guitar tone i wonder wut amps he used 2 record this

  • Not sure nut I'm thinking Laney or Vox.

  • its a Vampower Mk 3 theres one on ebay know but it costs 2,500 you can find it on ebay under: Vampower Mk 3 Multi Head + 2 x 4 x 12 Marc bolan-T Rex

ok good question feel free to ask more

  • I saw that on e-bay...Signed by Bolan if I remember....

He also used a H&H Amp, with a Dallas Rangemaster...

Question is how do you get that tone with modern equipment or pods???

  • There's some pinch harmonics with the edge of your right hand and keeping your pick down near the bridge too.

  • RIP Marc, your the best and missed!

  • :D)))))

  • NO lead guitar part . . hummm . . . studio version added that "dank dank da da da dank ' missing from this version . . . but still a great song !

  • @muggyspin yeah, that signature, syncopated chord overlay is obviously missing, but it gives it a garage band vibe that's acceptably kick ass, imho. imagine watching/listening to this in a small venue b4 it was a hit...that's what i'm trying to say, dig?

  • Great song and Great video 5*

  • Yeah, thanks for posting this, all the other "live" versions that I looked at were not. One of my favorite rock and roll songs- in the true spirit of rock and roll. I never get tired of hearing it.

  • Technically, I like this version a little bit more. It's ironic how the producer Tony Visconti also produced Adam Ant's Vive Le Rock album.

  • Just love it when he walks his little walk and smiles his little smiles...Marc forever in my heart!

  • Slade, Kiss and Alice ..Thank You Marc..You were the spark........

  • This is so much more real and fun than the hit version. The vid that goes with it, well, doesn't seem to go with it, as in, looks shot for tv (or something) while the song sounds as if it was a studio or basement. At this late date, the more real the better, as it's all we have. Thanks for posting this.

  • Awesome version !!!

  • It should've been released like this - the single was over-produced - GUESS WHY - so it can be a hit in the USA - that's Universally Superficial in America.

  • You're dirty sweet and OMG I love you Marc. Gx

  • Yeah, Man!

I love this RAW, "in progress" version of a GREAT tune.

    Can't beat it ...

  • Looks can be deceiving.

  • What you're listening to is an audio recording of T. Rex practicing. What you're seeing is footage of a T.V. performance that I manipulated and tried to sync with my audio, just to have something for you to look at while listening to this version of the song. I don't believe Bolan would have said the f-word on television!

  • Practicing? Where did you find a practice recording?

  • "Electric Warrior Sessions"

  • Fantastic. Thanks.

  • If you like the raw sound, you should also check out "Bump 'n' Grind"--it's got some working versions of Telegram Sam and Easy Action that are really excellent.

  • This is a great version of this classic. Like another poster wrote,"So raw." Fantastic. Love the drums.

  • kelewins, Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman provide the perfect foil to Marc's voice, as essential to the T. Rex sound as Visconti's serendipitous strings. ...Marc and the Turtles should sing together, you know what I mean, To hear them sing is something of a dream, Do you know what I mean?

  • Backing vocals on this and some other tracks from EW were performed by Eddie and Flo - the Turtles, ex L.A.

  • I don't know for sure, but the remastered CD of Electric Warrior may contain this track as I know that a few outtakes were included on this disc as well as 5.1 surround sound.

  • Where did this come from? I know Marc and this is so Raw!! Briliant!

  • "Electric Warrior Sessions"

  • a great work in prog version

    rock on

    Eddy

  • I love this mix.

    EXCELLENT !!!!!

  • Excellent dubb.

    Thank You for sharing. :-)

What boot is the audio from.

  • "Electric Warrior Sessions"

  • Much better pre Gloria!!!!!!!!

  • I love how he stamps his feet.
