  • i have the BB gun version of this.. im only 12

  • To bad it was discontinued

  • its all about the 6.8mm, power of the 7.62x39 and the accuracy of the .223

  • U need just to nuke all of your enemy's, wipe out entire races. Lebensraum schaffen!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • U DO post so many videos in a week! 7 in 2 years is a TON

  • Land warrior with some sort of standard M16 with sights is best. of course we need exo skeleton and dragon skin armour. and we also need a uav satellite.

  • HK developed a attachment to the M4 that replaces the lower receiver of the standard M4. They call it the M468 and it replaces the 5.56 x 45 with the 6.8 caliber bullet. Of course the M4 will be left with the million bugs that the family has, but at least you can get a little more power..

  • @PotentialFreedom Im pretty sure that was BARRET that made the gun, NOT HK, and the gun isnt called an m468 anymore, it is called a Barret REC 7.

  • @BAACCOOOOCk Sorry about that, I got confused.. too much future weapons...

  • @BAACCOOOOCk i think rec 7 is civilian version and m468 is military, but not sure though

  • @MacIrish63 Rec 7 is the military name for it. Colt at that time got mad at the weapon manufacturers that incorperated "M4" in their weapons name. For example, the HK 416 was orginally called the HK M4, that was until Colt had their shit fits.

  • @100ponies the xm8 purchase was canceled because the pentagon knew that H&K was going unveil a new model so they waited for the new one, once they saw the capability of the 416 they took the decision. We stay with the m4s and m16s and while some units have it on their inventory, others can choose the 416, same round, more accurate and reliable, specially for spec ops.

  • @100ponies no one knows the difference of a bullet when they have one in the chest and one in the head, but yea thats the case, the country spends millions on equipment but doesn't even know where to invest it in, it cant even take care of it's full population, i don't think it knows how to manage it's money. And no the HK416 is not the new stand rifle, the M4 will still be, but the 416 is an alternative to selected forces within the US.

  • Im happy we didnt switch to this gun...looks like a damn toy.

  • @USMartyrMachine119 yea, that's why the usa cancelled it. the barrel tends to melt when fired too much

  • @Ray301mike yeah I heard about the overheating. That wouldnt be good in hot places like Iraq.

  • i cant believe the army dropped this

  • @the1stcritic H&K are continuing developement

usa dropped it, but not them

  • @CAtheritzkid Actually HK doesnt continue the development. XM8 is actually nothing else but an G36, just looks a bit different. The USA are not interested anymore, because the big weapon lobby didnt want a foreign weapon company to get all that money, so they keep on building M4 an M16. XM8 and HK416 are actually not very different in their prices.

  • That gun looks so bad-ass!!!

  • The Xm8 program was cancelled by thr Military due to reliability problems, that's why H&K developed the 416 which is a FAR superior weapon than this weapon.

  • thats a fucking ugly ass gun wtf?!?!

  • The XM8 looks so space age but its awesome.

  • is this the gun that you use in crysis 2?

    looks alot like it

  • it fires 7.62?!

  • How to deny the US Military a good weapon:

Be a major manufacturer named Colt.

Ask to personally field test the new rifle.

Claim the rifle melted during extreme heat testing.

Don't tell public it melted at a temperature near the surface of the sun because you held it behind a jet engine.

Claim that wouldn't happen to your Bushmasters.

    ????

    Profit.

  • i love this gun...i really think they should try again and solve the melting problems and the dot sights battery

  • cant understand why the us army never adopted the XM8.

  • 5,56 can kill only birds.... MAYBE :)

  • 5,56 can kill only birds.... MAYBE :)

  • hmm every newer gun seems to be german

  • @hcmas LWRC!!!!!!!! m6a2 google that my friend

  • What is nato?

  • are you kidding me????

  • It stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's an alliance of countries that was formed after WW2. The 5.56x45 is the NATO standard round for infantry rifles and machine guns, hence the name, "NATO" after it.

  • its not that big......... id have to say m16 is longer

  • yes but not better^^

  • @nodokargra

    it weighs like 6 lbs

  • @kellark12

    so... your agreeing ?

  • @kellark12

cause the m16 weighs like 7 pounds unloaded

  • @nodokargra

nah i was just saying another positive feature of the XM8

  • @nodokargra the problem with the m16 is its too long not good for urban but the .223 round in both is fast. accurate.light making it easy to carry because of this it can pierce Kevlar armor

  • @K909AIRSOFT I think the M16 is just the right length for urban warfare. Unless you don't know how to get a rifle through a door, it's easy to shoot while you are inside.

  • @nodokargra who gives a fuck which is longer haha we all know what would win between both of these assault rifles. the beowulf duh. 50 caliber assault rifle.

  • It's the M8.

  • G36 copy! It´ll never be as good!

  • @coolmike1989

    So tell me..is ignorance bliss?

  • You're right...It's better.

  • its from the same firm? HK G36 and HK XM8^^

  • is the same pal.differenmt body

  • I hate this gun its way to large and long

  • wtf, u wont fire why the fuck do u care playboy

  • No I will not fire this gun but its easy to see by the eye that this weapon is too big

  • in the army especially the spec ops you want it to be as small and modular as possible for breaching doors easliy sighing someone in at close range or hip firing witch in a fire fight except for long range is what you usually do (when i say hip firing i mean firing from your sholders but not looking down the sights.

  • it actually isnt that big,its normal size like m16 maybe even m4

  • true

  • i dont understand why ppl give u bad rates, YOUR FCKING RIGHT!! our boys needs good weapons not things that might let us down and couse a few more deaths. and please everyone support me on this... CHANGE THE FCKING ROUNDS WE USE, WE NEED STRONGER STUFF AS WELL AS ACCURATE

  • @grimofhell

M855A1. Lots of rounds carried + stopping power.

  • @XKS99 Recently issued, copper made. Might not be lead, but it's one hell of a bullet.

  • @grimofhell It's not that simple.. a caliber change would be extremely expensive, not just to swap out all the current firearms but also the sighting equipment, scopes, and the massive amounts of stored ammunition.. the military might have a high budget but it could not pull something like that off without pissing off a lot of tax payers.

  • @lexmark136 Tell that to the LSAT program.

  • @grimofhell

    or do like the ak-74

when it hits the body it tumbles. the m16 will yaw flesh but if it dosent then its not that affective but i rated you up.

  • @grimofhell the 556 is strong. it is enogh for body armour to like 2030

  • @grimofhell 6.8 man, my dad bought one, a little more kick then a 5.56 but it has so much more stoping power.

  • @grimofhell what about a rifle with a bullpup mechanism onyl it would fire the size of a mauser K98 7.92mm on full auto :)

  • @grimofhell

Well, sorry, 5.56x45mm is just about close to power but accurate that you're asking for

  • @Cowbelltheoneandonly it's not the same shooting someone with a bullet designed to stay in the body (if he has body armor he doesn't get harmed) than shooting him with something like a 7.62 which passes like a hot knife in butter :P but all of this is changing now, better weapons as well as modifications to the m4 platform are coming.

  • @grimofhell 6.5 grendel all the way!

  • @grimofhell f ur boys

  • @grimofhell idiot

  • @grimofhell 6.8 mm...nuff said

  • @SPARTAN3521 6.5 grindel

  • why OH why!? did they thrash the production of this great firearm. Damn it we can still have the M16 around but put this badass gun into service aswell. Its far more better!!! but the M16 is a great system too. but its time to move on. plus i belive this system is alot cheaper to manufacture than its counter parts. according to some research i did. but man what a great modular weapon system.

  • Why the hell the army didn't want this rifle, I'll never understand.

  • It's to expensive to US army. Replacing every single M16 and M4 rifle will cost hundreds of millions $ maybe. It would be very hard to handle especially now during economic crisis. You can also say goodbye to xm29 and many other excellent projects.

  • why would they replace the m16 family? the m16 family made the US army stronger and without it russia would won the cold war.

  • Hehe, damn man. First of all m16 family rifles got very outdated. Second XM8 is way much better then any m16 and m4 rifle. Third a the beginning of m16 project, rifle was much less reliable even then cheaper China's ak47 clones the Types 56. Are you getting he picture?

  • oh ok i got it.

  • its because it melted after continuos fire, i dont know what part exactly, but during testing they fired it a really long time and it just melted because it couldnt cool down, the army and military rejected it. at least i heard this idk if its true but im sure it is, because everythiong else seems to be amazing about this gun.

  • Still, the XM8 based on that dust testing and other tests proved MORE reliable than the M16. It's not the question whether it melted after continued fire, its whether its more reliable. And to the info presented in front of me, it seems so. The M16 is an awesome gun, tried it myself and it doesn't feel awkward at all. But I think its about time the military moved on.

  • yeah i agree, but i think they also turned it down because it would cost SO much to replace almost every m4/m16 rifle with this taht they just didnt want to spend that much money

  • Actually m16 and m4 does not melt during long firing (check the firing with high capacity magasines, "c-mags") Its because wrong design. m16 family weapons tend to jam very often. There are 2 reasons for that. First it has no 2 barrel for piston that rotating the bolt (like AK) it is so called direct gas system. Second there is a bit problem with attachment on the to of the bolt carrier(the head of the cam pin). Check m16/m4 reliability problem on youtube.

  • Comment removed

  • the front grip melted

  • That's a sharp looking rifle :D

  • barely any recoil lol

  • nice control

  • awesome, i love how the xm8 looks
