The thing about Kane is is that he was one of the greatest heels of all time. Then, at some point, the writers of W.W.F. decided to make him a hero character. This involved making him less of a badass, and more of an underdog. They later realized that this was a bad idea, but they couldn't retcon the changes they made to his character. Thus, Kane became a complete pussy.
