Some cops have this high and mighty I'm a god and you lowly worm will do as I SAY and there's nothing you can about it attitude. It's time to take the power away from these pigs, they work for us, not us for them.
I love how most of the posts that don't agree with the anti cop stand are marked as spam lol that just goes to show you how much free speech is respected by the so called people that say they are protecting it. You can't come back with something that doesn't sound delusional so you mark it spam. you prove the point for me. scream and complain then do to others what you scream about. classic.
Yeah, I have been hearing one of Randi's promos for her radio show, she talks about Republirats wanting to "steal one last traunch of money, the Social Security trust fund". I hope everyone knows that the trust fund has NO MONEY in it, it has NON-FUNGIBLE, CLASS SS T-BILLS.....WORTHLESS. Is SS backed up by a SS trust fund filled with.......gold, silver, platinum, priceless art, blue chip stocks, dollars or other currency............NO, AL GORE'S LOCKBOX IS BASICALLY BROKE AND BROKEN.
@gusterk Yes, she's right about Kerry not really trying to stop the arrest.
He's a politician first & was only claiming, weakly, to want to dialog with the student, for appearances sake. The vote-fraud & collusion charges do hold water & are exactly what should be expected when political candidates take membership oaths in "secret societies", which directly compete with their oaths of office. It's time to stop assuming & lose this tribal, defend "the party" at all costs mentality!
he got tasered because he started to resist arrest. wasnt like he was was just standing there and the cops walked in and tasered him. things led up to the incident. it dont matter what led to the approach. and a senator cant say stop, its not his place to tell the cops to back off. dont matter what the kid did, he was told to leave, he didnt, he was told commands, he didnt follow directions, got tasered. you dont have the right to resist. 200 students vs 5 cops. order has to be kept.
"Randi Rhodes is five starts!!!!" Randi Rhodes is an idiot. She got next to nothing right about the events of that day.
"Police should have a reason to arrest somebody." Disturbing the Peace, Trespassing, Resisting an Officer with Violence & Inciting a Riot aren't enough 'reasons' for you?
"Arresting somebody with not reasons is unticostitutional." Aside from not making any sense that statement isn't relevant to the events as the Police had multiple reasons to arrest him.
OgdenCalpo you're both right and wrong. I agree that "shes obviously an idiot in general" that doesn't change with this fallacious, factually devoid rant of hers. She didn't get much of anything right about the events of that day. She was just another in a long list of people making strong statements on a situation that they didn't have all the information for. If this is an example of her "investigating" a situation I hold everything she says as suspect.
@redrumrob is the part where you disagree with me regarding me agreeing with her in this situation? If so then you might be right. I don't know what I was on :P
You don't want to be tasered don't be a dick head that knows just what they are doing. A cop tells you to leave STFU and leave. If you don't your asking for it and will get it. He made his point and still had to put of a show. LoL stop being Morons next time you need a cop to safe your ass fend for yourself then. Your the fisrt to blame the first to known it all and the first to call when it's your ass on the line.
What a load of hot air lol the kid was in the wrong and put on a show to get his 15 minutes of fame. The cops did nothing wrong if the kid would of acted like a normal person and fallowed the rules like everyone else him would of been fine. He made the choice not to and the cops did thier job. He was making an ass out of himself and payed for it. What about the rights of everyone else that was there? He didn't care about those now did he.
lomos72, how can anyone "miss" something that never happened? Unless, of course, you call Disturbing the Peace, Trespassing, breaking ALL of the forum rules, violating the Students Code of Conduct, Resisting an Officer with Violence & Inciting a Riot not doing anything wrong.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Say let him go? The police dont listen to candidates. Police arrest if they see violation of the law. He refused to let Kerry speak, he used profanity, he rambled.
I dont like Kerry at all, but he is not an authority. And he was not arrested for asking a question, he was refusing Kerry to speak and rambled profanity and refused to give up a mike. He was asked numerous times to stand down, he ignored 4-5 warnings, then cops moved in.
Well done, Rhandi Rhodes - you're a an absolute hero, Kerry's an absolute coward, that cop is an absolute retard and those students got to see, first hand, what's happening to the freedoms their parents and grandparents fought for.
Anyone who doesn't think they did anything wrong would also resist arrest. He said what did I do like ten times and they never answered. I'd be scared, scared people react instinctively. Maybe new Police Academy movie? "Police Academy 8: Blitzkrieg". "I think the book said to erm.. wait til each one of us four pins down a limb.. then uhh, once he can't do any harm, Moe comes in with the taser." A taser should only be used on dangerous suspects or escaping criminals who pose a threat.
"Anyone who doesn't think they did anything wrong would also resist arrest." Nice try, moron, but a complete failure. Meyer knew damn well that he wasn't being arrested, not initially anyway. The Police told him, PRIOR to his speaking at the mic, that they were going to need to talk to him after his question, thus their being behind him the ENTIRE time he was at the mic. It's clear you have NO clue what happened that day, or why.
This lady is a dumb fucking bitch i want my fucking last 6 minutes of my life back... fact is you NEVER shove a fucking police officer they asked him to leave and he didnt... fuck it tazer him
Furthermore, this man is a sovereign citizen of the United States. The fact that we have come to the point where we believe the police have the authority to detain and arrest people on a whim is absolutely frightening. The Supreme Court has ruled that Tasers are considered deadly weapons. This cop who calls up is a perfect example of people who do not understand human rights. Cops DO NOT have the power to make people do anything they want.
Ive never heard this lady before but thank god shes not paid off to speak state censored bullshit. Everybody is defending the point that he "broke forum rules" or "resisted arrest" are using insanity as logic. A) Its not illegal to break forum rules, B) He was not resisting arrest, he ewwas protesting them from illegally escorting him out of the building. THe police are not hired thugs paid to enforce the will of one citizen against another.
All i need to do is use my eyes i feel we may have different moral standards i do not believe that anyone has the right to lay their hands on you unless they feel that their own safety is threatened physically. we have tasers in my country but the police are equipt to deal with people such as the man in the video without electricuting them. i believe he deserved to be restrained and removed but what they did was too much & should have been dealt with differently too much force was used
and i would appreciate you allowing me to have my opinions and stop trying to beat me down with your wn every time i or someone else expresses theirs and you may feel very strongly about this but you cannot change everyones mind please do not comment to me again as my views will not change simply because you do not like them or agree with they way you feel i may have come about them. And by the way your nodding your head and agreeing with your societies rules as i am to people who share my views
"ang by hands i mean to physically harm you" Are you trying to say that the Police, when they took an arm each to physically remove him, did so to "physically harm" him?
"And by the way your nodding your head and agreeing with your societies rules as i am to the people who share my views" Your "views" are not based on the facts & the laws of THIS country so they're both incorrect & baseless.
"... i do not believe that anyone has the right to lay their hands on you nless they feel that their own safety is threatened physically." The law does not agree with you. Meyer was ORDERED to leave by both ACCENT & Police & he refused to do so. That is, under Fl law, Trespassing & they had EVERY right to physically remove him & he had NO right to resist. It's not about "morals", it's about the law.
Your absolutely correct Karen. All you really need to properly assess what was done to this kid is before you in these videos, despite the best efforts of thes mind-control thugs aied at bludgeoning you into acceptance of it. All these blatherings amount only to trumped-up renditions of how 'AWFULLY', the kid misbehaved in expressing disappointment when it looked like he wasn't going to be allowed to ask his question, before finally being accepted. Despite not actually being under being under..
arrest at this point, it's somehow supposed to excuse the evasive pressure tactics he received while tying to question & the continuation resulting in his being grabbed & tasered, after only 90 seconds at the mic, & much of that spent in trying to fend off the flack he was getting from the "moderators" via the police. All in all, a thoroughly disgusting display of suppression of his freedom of expression & the screening of a member of government from extremely serious & embarrassing questions.
@ehhhwatsupdoc Listen up this is the final say, THEY WERE BOTH WRONG. The cops were MORE wrong. He broke forum rules, he needed to leave. He didn't and they needed to escort him. People die from being tasered, so every time you use one you need to treat it like it COULD kill. You never know which will be the time. So tell me this. Would you shoot somebody with a gun while they were held down unable to move. NO. Look at this as if he died and see what the problem is.
"Listen up this is the final say, THEY WERE BOTH WRONG." That's not the "final say", it's complete bullshit is what it is. The Police did NOTHING wrong. Your liking or agreeing with that fact is irrelevant.
"People die from being tasered,.." Ok, please show me even one case of someone dying from a properly applied 5 second drive-stun. Just one case will suffice.
@Zeppelinfancb"Listen up this is the final say" Don't give me that.
I agree about the Taser, it was the final & potentially deadly abuse of AMs rights, but I see nothing wrong with what he did after being admitted to adress Kerry. The forum people had tthe cops try to intimidate him before 30 seconds had passed & there is where the problem starts & the responsibility for what happened thereafter lies. He was right to be outraged & It was righteous to put Kerry on the spot with tough questions!
@ehhhwatsupdoc I don't agree with a forum that all questions need to be pre-asked and pre-answered either. If those were the rules though, and he doesn't deny it, then he broke them. To me that's only worthy of an escort and a bad view of Kerry's campaign.
@Zeppelinfancb "Rules"? Ok, but the Constitution comes first. Regardless of what happened earlier, he wasn't under arrest, & with tacit agreement, between Kerry and the Forum "allowing" his question, if it pertains to Kerry's public life, sans any threat or obscenity, then NO ONE has a right to censor it in any way, shape, manner or form. What he then did was EXACTLY what the founders meant to protect with the First Amendment. Expel him after the answer if necessary, but leave his question alone
@ehhhwatsupdoc I completely agree that restricting the questions asked is complete BS, if we can't ask certain questions then we have no idea we we are really voting for. I also agree that if you know rules before breaking them, then there is a certain degree of accountability that you must maintain. He said he knew the rules and that he was breaking them. I agree with you that they should have never had the rule to break in the first place. They are using loopholes to hide from the public.
Breaking the rule of asking a question out of turn is not completely right but should not be deemed a criminal offence.
Why should a police officer have the right to demand that you stop asking a question in an open forum? Why do people think the police should have the right to arrest, torture & imprison someone for asking a question?
She is right. The US & the world should be very, very worried about the implications for Freedom of Speech
@explorer2101 First of all, the police didn't ask him to shut up, the mic was cut because he broke the rules of prohibited language by saying "blowjob"
Randi is a moron if she thinks this kid did NOTHING. The kid was EJECTED for his behavior and didn't want to leave so when he didn't do that, NOW he's under arrest. Go watch the video I have on my channel and read the description underneath.
RANDI IS A MORON, she's making an issue out of what DIDN"T happen.
Absolutely. Such forums are not really open to the public if only screened & agreed questions can be asked.
It is totally reprehensible that one can be arrested & tortured with a tazer for asking a question out of turn whilst holding up the illusion of an open question session with the public
This guy did nothing illegal & should have had a formal apology from the authorities. The fact that national TV networks supported his arrest & torture speaks volumes
Then this dumb cunt goes on to say, "Then why did the cops even aproach him.", further reinforcing the fact that she has NO clue about what happened. Does that stop her from spewing more bullshit? Oh heck no. Why let the facts get in the way of a good rant. Right? Stupid bitch.
"This kid did nothing. I got news for you, he did NOTHING." Again proving what an idiot she is by making this blatent lie.
"If you're the kind of Police Officer that would arrest a kid in a college assembly because he's asking an inconvenient question of a US Senator.." blah, blah, fucking blah. This idiot bitch just loves to hear the sound of her own voice. She has absolutely NOTHING to back up the bullshit she's spewing, nothing but anger & ignorance. It's fucking pathetic.
Randi Rhodes has no clue what happened that day or why & this is proven by the idiotic comments she made during this radio broadcast.
"Then the cops come storming in.." From where? Oh yeah, that's right, from nowhere. They were standing right behind him the entire time he was at the mic because he'd already been kicked out & was given an undeserved chance to ask a question, a chance he completely blew.
"This is a Vietnam Veteran.." Who has REPEATEDLY stated that everyone who fought in Vietnam was a war criminal, you stupid cunt.
"He could have gotten off the stage & said "Hey! Get your hands off of him." a)The Police do not report to Kerry & b)had he done so he would have been interfering with the Police performing their lawful duty. As it was, Kerry is the reason that Meyer was at the mic & not outside talking to the Police. Here are the facts:
The Q&A was announced to be over & Meyer threw a fit because he wasn't going to get to ask a question. He started yelling & cursing at Kerry & pushing his way to the nearest mic. He was confronted by ACCENT, the group that sponsored the forum & was moderating the Q&A, members & Police & was ORDERED to leave. He, by his own admission in a written interview for MSNBC, refused to do so. That's Disturbing the Peace &, under Fl law, Trespassing. He was being removed, by Police, when ..cont..)
The Facts cont..).. Kerry intervened & asked that he be allowed to ask his question. ACCENT & Police chose to honor that request & escorted him to the mic but doing so did NOT mean that he was immune from forum rules & it did NOT mean that the Police were to just forget about his ILLEGAL actions. He was told by Police, prior to asking his numerous questions, that they were going to need to talk to him after his question(thus their being behind him the entire time he was at the mic) &..cont..)
The Facts cont..).. he was reminded about the forum rules. Those rules were:ONE question per person(he asked 5+), 30 seconds to preface it(he talked for a minute & a half before ACCENT cut the mic) & everyone was told that ANY use of obscenities would result in ACCENT cutting the mic. Meyer CHOSE to break ALL of those rules & ACCENT Director Max Tryoler chose to exercise his right to enforce them & gave the signal to cut the mic. The Police were then escorting him out, NOT arresting him..cont..)
The Facts cont..).. not until his continued ILLEGAL actions warrented it. He CHOSE to violently resist that lafwul removal & tried to get others to interfere with the Police. That's Resisting an Officer with Violence & Inciting a Riot & THAT is why he was arrested. He made another attempt to get away from the Police at the back of the room & was taken to the ground where he CHOSE to be drive-stunned by CHOOSING to ignore REPEATED orders to stop resisting even AFTER being warned..cont..)
The Facts cont..).. he'd be "tased" if he did not comply.
He's lucky he wasn't charged with every law he broke in that room & that his lawyer was able to get him a deal for 18 months of probation instead of standing trial considering all of the video evidence & eyewitness testimony against him from that day.
I work as a Correctional Officer and the first thing you should always know is that authority and a licence to use force in your job does not allow you to misuse your power. You must always be careful of how you exercise that right. A judge of a mans character can best be seen by giving him power.
randy rhodes i am with you all the way. and for all you idiots who say the kid did this for attention are only half right. of course he wanted attention he was asking questions to john kerry in front of a shitload of people but he wanted attention the right way by being heard and having his questions answered. not by being arrested and tasered. its not like anyone wants to get arrested and tasered just for attention but if i had the chance to ask some questions in front of cameras i would.
the fucking pigs sit around on the weekend at drinking parties and tase each other and then laugh about it.. there are hundreds of taser party videos on youtube..
they are itching to try out their new toys.
I don't know much about this woman's politics, but she is dead on on this issue.
Randi is right,How can anybody see it any other way? There is no excuse for him to be tasered..Kerry is a jerk..they act like kerry was God ..WtF is wrong with the cops and Kerry?
Shaymac48, you don't know what you're talking about any more than that idiot Randi Rhodes.
"Randi is right,How can anybody see it any other way?" By researching it & looking at the facts. The facts prove her to be wrong, on damn near every statement she made on the events of that day.
"they act like kerry was God" WTF is that supposed to mean? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely DESPISE Kerry but he had NOTHING to do with Meyer's removal or subsequent arrest & drive-stunning.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
boy randi, you sound like a woman. The kid was being disrespectful, the cops were probably just going to ask him to leave. He wasn't going to be arrested until he freaked out and started disrupting the peace.
our current system offers zero justice it only keeps society together, if i kill you and I go to jail or exicuted for it there is no justice, sure I am punished to scare others from acting the same way as me. but no justice is given to your family or people that suffer from the loss. its actually illegal for you to prevent my actions or seek remedy from me as well. what a system we have. dont even use the word justice if you live in america. ( it dosent exist. here)
..when you're in a high position of authority as he was there's a level of professionalism that can never be compromised no matter how much you are provoked. Kerry didn't do anything to hinder the situation for 1 of 2 reasons. Maybe he wanted the student to be escorted out by any means necessary so he wouldn't have to answer the question. Or maybe he just wanted to let the cops do their jobs. Either way his decision wasn't the most professional one so he's at fault as well here.
..after being cuffed he's still got adrenaline pumping and still wants to resist. So the only sensible thing to do is to temporarily disable him. There are other ways than a taser but to each his own. He was basically asking for it. The cops only gave him what he so desperately wanted. So in all respect the cops did their jobs. Now Kerry could have prevented the tasering by simply asking the cops to let him go. This incident disappointed me as far as Kerry's actions went..
The whole incident could have been avoided. On the student's, Kerry's and the cops parts. Now I'm pretty sure that he intended to make a scene. Not sure if a taser was involved in his plans but his primary objective was accomplished. The cops were only doing their jobs. Two cops approached him and tried to escort him out. The student wasn't small and it's clear that he was resisting. The other cops came when it was clear that he didn't plan on leaving the easy way..
lol so to answer the students question yes he is in the skull and bones you should of asked a better question like why did you and the cia decide to blow up the twin towers, or ask why did u go to iraq if u knew there wasnt any weapons, or why did you frame the bin laden family when you n the bush family where close with me... fuck this officer she sucks dick for a living
Randy I wish you would not become so fired up that you use foul language ...Oh we all agre with you ....Just stay Professional....because you are one of the few that we have....
The entire planet should listen to this. They shouldn't have started to pull him from the mic in the first place and Kerry should have stopped the "cops" when they 1st tried to pull him away.
They were not sworn officers they were campus security. Big difference. The kid should have been removed but I am leary of the taser. I was not there but they had sufficient personel to physically remove him. Well he does have the right to ask questions to Senator Kerry. If he starts to act irrational he may also need medical / mental help.
why should the kid have been removed? For asking a question about is involvment in a secret society which has been confirmed as real? He wasn't disorderly at all! You are fucked up if you are trying to support their motives.
Taser guns can KILL. A traveler at Vancouver airport died within 2 minutes of being tased. Taser Corp. (manufacturer) downplays this, and many police officers think taser is just a "compliance device" without serious risks. We already had police tasing a 6 year old boy and a 12 y.o. girl in the USA. It's just crazy. Law enforcement calls tasers "less lethal weapons". This student, or those children did not pose a physical threat to police. Yes it was a fascist thing to tase them.
are people blind or stupid this punk kid was not listening to police. he was asking more than the one question alloted and he was asked to stop. this moron deserved what happened to him and the cops did what they had to do
So you your saying, it's okay to ask one question, but if you ask multiple rhetorical questions, then you should be tased and arrested? LOL, a voice does no harm.
She watched the video...HAAHAHAHAHAA. She watched probably a edited version of it. Plus he was not the last in line, there were several people that didn't get to ask questions, did they act like fucking lunatics? Randi you're a fucking retard. Do the research before you have an opinion.
So what that is necessary to bring about political change sometimes. What about the protests of black people or women to get the equal right or the vote! Or the Vietnam war protesters. Should all these people have quietly followed the orders of authority and there representatives? When Britain ruled America. We were the authority/governors so should there have been no war of independence?
Because everyone following the rules and doing what they are told?
What this kid did has nothing to do with equal rights or war or when Britain ruled the colonies. He was an out of control jerk that caused a scene and was subsequently thrown out of an organized event, resisted the throwing out, then resisted arrest. He acted innappropriately and was treated as such.
It has everything to do with it. When Rosa Parks decided she was not going to sit at the bacy of the bus. Don't you think people thought she was out of control, te truth is she probably was. If that situation was going on now the cops would have turned up and tasered her. You can take any political protester at anytime in history and a large
cont.... Section of society may have considered them to be out of control. This was a non violent political protest. The police had business arresting him and certainly no business using a taser on him. So much for land of the free. Bush from what I have heard has rigged two elections. So you are living in a dictatorship while your country fights a war to create a democracy in Iraq! and no one should make a scene about that? Where the fuck is your head at?
It was non violent until Meyer made it violent by yanking violently away from the police, then when they went to put him into custody, he fought. HE was the one that made it violent, and police are allowed to use force to take someone into custody.
Your argument is moot anyway, police were cleared of any wrong doing or excessive force, and he was given 18 months of probation.
I don't remember Rosa Parks resisting arrest and having to get taken to the ground. No, she got arrested and then fought the whole big mess in court and won. This idiot decided to act like a fucktard in an organized school event that had rules for campus conduct and also broke some state laws as well. I don't think you can compare Rosa Parks to this fuckhead.
U know your president has broken some international laws to by taking you into an illegal war. So has Blair, but it looks like that does not count. Tens of thousands of Iraqis civilians have lost there lives which you may not give a shit about. But also thousands of your own troops. Bush and Cheney have made millions from investing into companies like halliburton. As an ordinary citizen who is getting totally fucked over by Ur government should be supporting this kid 4 trying to stand up 2 them.
If they dont see the bare truth of the matter they deserve whats coming to them. I wonder if they will feel the same when they or their family is tazed.
We have be responsible citizens and sometimes that means standing up to authority believe it or not! Do you think the citizens of Germany should have all followed the orders of the Gestapo and Hitler? You are not far off a police state. Your government are war profiteers (the same in the UK) and the police R there soldiers to fight ordinary citizens who don't agree with what's going on with the use of excessive force, and you support them? To demonstrate is an important part of democracy!
ojera, I'm sorry, but that's not true at all. John Kerry has been asked that question on national tv on several occasions. You can't seriously believe that he would open up to a stupid college kid and give any new information. If you watch the videos, the guy in the suit behind Meyer is the student gov org guy, a UFL student, he's giving the "cut the mic" to the kid running the mics as soon after Meyer says "blowjob". They warned him they would cut the mic if he got vulgar, and remove him.
This so-called "senator" is paid with OUR TAX DOLLARS, and he is ACCOUNTABLE to us! We have the right as American citizens to ask ANYTHING of them, like it or not! If they can't take it they can try to go find a real job, but the vast majority of them are fat, lazy, skilless pigs feeding at the trough of public funds.
As for the cops, they just love those little tazer toys to death, and look for an excuse to play with them.
"We have the right as American citizens to ask ANYTHING of them"
Of course you do. Don't believe this crap. I've seen many videos and read witness statements and police reports. Meyer was kicked out TWICE for yelling, cussing, cutting line, and disturbing the whole event. That's why the crowd cheered when they started taking him out.
You can NOT ask what you want WHEN you want. There is a time, place, and method to do it. This clown knows exactly why he was zapped, and has said so on TV.
Not hardly. He knows hat happened that day, and she does not. The guy had AMPLE oppurtunity to behave (ha NOTHING to do with the questions he was asking and he knows it), and even more oppurtunity to walk out without incident, and PLENTY of oppurtunity to avoid the tazing.
And he has said it himself. You guys would be well served to actually find out what actually happened that day.
IF AN OFFICER MAKES AN ILLEGAL COMMAND AND ATTEMPTS TO ARREST ME FOR DISREGARDING...I WOULD FUCK THAT ROGUE OFFICERS ASS UP...I SAY BRING THE ILLEGAL ARRESTS TO VERMONT...WE GOT SOMETHIN FOR THAT ASS...IT IS THE DUTY OF AMERICANS TO RESIST ILLEGAL ARREST AND OR DETAINMENT. rEVOLution.
Meyer broke the rules, the event director told him to leave, and cops did their job as security. TWICE. You probably don't knwo that he had done this ALREADY that day and was let back in to continue acting an ass.
Even the kid who got tasered said he deserved it in a later interview. That being said I do not think it was necessary in this instance. I mean there was, what, four or five cops to apprehend the guy.
"Even the kid who got tasered said he deserved it in a later interview. That being said I do not think it was necessary in this instance. I mean there was, what, four or five cops to apprehend the guy."
?? The kid is right. Watch the whole thing. They are telling him to put his arm behind his back, but he's clutching onto a chair. Sure, they could kick his ribs, break his fingers, or shoulder, or arm, but why cause lasting harm when a little zap will do the trick?
"The use of TaserX26 weapons, provoking extreme pain, constituted a form of torture, and that in certain cases it could also cause death, as shown by several reliable studies and by certain cases that had happened after practical use,"
It is interesting that Kerry threw the towel in in the race just because the Neo Conservative Fox News deliberately announced Bush had won, when he had Not!
Andrew Meyer was removed from the Kerry forum for using "vulgar" language, for using the word "blowjob". The student gov sponsor had warned entire audience not to use "vulgarity" during their questions to Kerry or the cops would remove them from the building. He did, so they did. Pretty simple. During the video, he starts yelling, "I'm being arrested! Help!", but he was not being arrested, only removed. They arrested him only after he assaulted them near the back door on the way out.
If you'll notice...all of these videos were posted the same day, or within 2 days of his arrest. No one realized at that time that he was actually a TV journalism major who was well-known for being a prankster and heckler who videotaped his practical jokes for his own website. That's why, eight months later, you don't hear reasonable people supporting him. He also appeared on the Today Show in Oct 07 and apologized to the police and the university for pulling this stunt. It was a stunt.
Asking a question is not an arrestable offence. The policemen were therefore comitting an offence.
If.....he broke some internal rules of the Uni, then presumably he could be removed using minimum force only. A tazer, when you have 5 policemen, is not minimum force. The police were therefore guilty of an assault.
Did you watch the video? He was NOT arrested for asking aquestion!! How can you not get that? He was told to leave by moderators because of his ongoing disruptive behavior. You can argue whether they pulled the trigger to quickly or not (but most of the videos don't show the whole thing), but it is their RIGHT. He broke forum rules and was told to leave.
He was arrested for aggressively refusing to leave NOT for asking questions.
Yup, & they were BEHIND him, whispering among themselves right before they attacked him.

Maybe new Police Academy movie? "Police Academy 8: Blitzkrieg". "I think the book said to erm.. wait til each one of us four pins down a limb.. then uhh, once he can't do any harm, Moe comes in with the taser." A taser should only be used on dangerous suspects or escaping criminals who pose a threat.

arrest at this point, it's somehow supposed to excuse the evasive pressure tactics he received while tying to question & the continuation resulting in his being grabbed & tasered, after only 90 seconds at the mic, & much of that spent in trying to fend off the flack he was getting from the "moderators" via the police. All in all, a thoroughly disgusting display of suppression of his freedom of expression & the screening of a member of government from extremely serious & embarrassing questions.
ehhhwatsupdoc 2 years ago 2
@ehhhwatsupdoc Listen up this is the final say, THEY WERE BOTH WRONG. The cops were MORE wrong. He broke forum rules, he needed to leave. He didn't and they needed to escort him. People die from being tasered, so every time you use one you need to treat it like it COULD kill. You never know which will be the time. So tell me this. Would you shoot somebody with a gun while they were held down unable to move. NO. Look at this as if he died and see what the problem is.

Zeppelinfancb 1 year ago 6
@Zeppelinfancb
I agree. This is an excellent show.
Breaking the rule of asking a question out of turn is not completely right but should not be deemed a criminal offence.
Why should a police officer have the right to demand that you stop asking a question in an open forum? Why do people think the police should have the right to arrest, torture & imprison someone for asking a question?
She is right. The US & the world should be very, very worried about the implications for Freedom of Speech

..when you're in a high position of authority as he was there's a level of professionalism that can never be compromised no matter how much you are provoked.
Eldra1986 3 years ago
..after being cuffed he's still got adrenaline pumping and still wants to resist.
Eldra1986 3 years ago
The whole incident could have been avoided. On the student's, Kerry's and the cops parts. Now I'm pretty sure that he intended to make a scene. Not sure if a taser was involved in his plans but his primary objective was accomplished. The cops were only doing their jobs. Two cops approached him and tried to escort him out. The student wasn't small and it's clear that he was resisting. The other cops came when it was clear that he didn't plan on leaving the easy way..

Yes it was a fascist thing to tase them.

are people blind or stupid this punk kid was not listening to police. he was asking more than the one question alloted and he was asked to stop. this moron deserved what happened to him and the cops did what they had to do
hornetjet777 3 years ago
So you your saying, it's okay to ask one question, but if you ask multiple rhetorical questions, then you should be tased and arrested? LOL, a voice does no harm.

let's see, disturbing the peace, disobeying a lawful order, resisting arrest... yeah he didn't do anything wrong.

She watched the video...HAAHAHAHAHAA. She watched probably a edited version of it. Plus he was not the last in line, there were several people that didn't get to ask questions, did they act like fucking lunatics? Randi you're a fucking retard. Do the research before you have an opinion.
thebatman7465 3 years ago
He caused a big scene before he even got to the microphone. That's why he got arrested, because he caused a bigger scene after he was asked to leave.
thebatman7465 3 years ago
So what that is necessary to bring about political change sometimes. What about the protests of black people or women to get the equal right or the vote! Or the Vietnam war protesters. Should all these people have quietly followed the orders of authority and there representatives? When Britain ruled America. We were the authority/governors so should there have been no war of independence?
Because everyone following the rules and doing what they are told?
J4JB 3 years ago
What this kid did has nothing to do with equal rights or war or when Britain ruled the colonies. He was an out of control jerk that caused a scene and was subsequently thrown out of an organized event, resisted the throwing out, then resisted arrest. He acted innappropriately and was treated as such.
thebatman7465 3 years ago
It has everything to do with it. When Rosa Parks decided she was not going to sit at the bacy of the bus. Don't you think people thought she was out of control, te truth is she probably was. If that situation was going on now the cops would have turned up and tasered her. You can take any political protester at anytime in history and a large
J4JB 3 years ago
J4JB 3 years ago

I don't think you can compare Rosa Parks to this fuckhead.
thebatman7465 3 years ago

"Love it, she owned him"

IF AN OFFICER MAKES AN ILLEGAL COMMAND AND ATTEMPTS TO ARREST ME FOR DISREGARDING...I WOULD FUCK THAT ROGUE OFFICERS ASS UP...I SAY BRING THE ILLEGAL ARRESTS TO VERMONT...WE GOT SOMETHIN FOR THAT ASS...IT IS THE DUTY OF AMERICANS TO RESIST ILLEGAL ARREST AND OR DETAINMENT. rEVOLution.

"IF AN OFFICER MAKES AN ILLEGAL COMMAND"
There was no illegal command.

It is interesting that Kerry threw the towel in in the race just because the Neo Conservative Fox News deliberately announced Bush had won, when he had Not!
Kerry is indeed nothing but a SHILL!!!
jasong1971 3 years ago
Andrew Meyer was removed from the Kerry forum for using "vulgar" language, for using the word "blowjob". The student gov sponsor had warned entire audience not to use "vulgarity" during their questions to Kerry or the cops would remove them from the building. He did, so they did. Pretty simple. During the video, he starts yelling, "I'm being arrested! Help!", but he was not being arrested, only removed. They arrested him only after he assaulted them near the back door on the way out.
tazedbrotwo 3 years ago
If you'll notice...all of these videos were posted the same day, or within 2 days of his arrest. No one realized at that time that he was actually a TV journalism major who was well-known for being a prankster and heckler who videotaped his practical jokes for his own website. That's why, eight months later, you don't hear reasonable people supporting him. He also appeared on the Today Show in Oct 07 and apologized to the police and the university for pulling this stunt. It was a stunt.
tazedbrotwo 3 years ago
Asking a question is not an arrestable offence. The policemen were therefore comitting an offence.
If.....he broke some internal rules of the Uni, then presumably he could be removed using minimum force only. A tazer, when you have 5 policemen, is not minimum force. The police were therefore guilty of an assault.
Cacadore 3 years ago 3
"Asking a question is not an arrestable offence."
