you're not obliged to give port b or trisb a hex value you could give it 0 and 1 decimal

umm.. we kinda use J1PIC16X84.. hehehe.. do a turorial in this PIC, lectures about 8LEAD, 7Segment and specially on LCD module and keypad matrix.. tnx a bunch!!

It means the number is in Hexadecimal (Base 16).
