Well, the "consensus" that global warming is real is, at best, in serious doubt. There once was a consensus that eugenics was a good idea. But there are plenty of children who have received these vaccines (and are now inoculated from diseases) and are not autistic.
" But there are plenty of children who have received these vaccines (and are now inoculated from diseases) and are not autistic."
That's because those children have high levels of glutathione and certain enzymes that allow them to excrete the ethyl mercury, in thimerosal, in their hair and waste.
My daughter received 8 vaccinations in one month, after that this beautiful smily girl developed autism. Coincidence? Use your commen sense...too many vaccines to soon! 36 vaccines before the age of two???? And no side effects for all kids?? Why do people have to wait until they r hit hard until they open their eyes?
I feel bad that your child has autism, but blaming vaccines is absurd. The only fact is this "debate" is killing children, because more and more outbreaks of these diseases are running rampant compared to before this debate. You are promoting ignorance and children suffer for it, where is your common sense?
I cant believe people are arguing about this. Go on pubmed and pull up all the reviews on Autism and Immunization. They all say the same thing... There is no casual relationship.
People keep saying that studies have proved there is no link, but have they actually READ those studies? I bet they didn't, because if they did they would see that they prove NOTHING. Read the Peltola, Hviid, and Honda studies. Read also the Terada and Nakatani papers on vaccine uptake and put this together with the Honda paper and you will see the problem.
The thing is 1) people don't have the time to read ever paper 2) most lay people would not be able to understand the details of a research paper. Thus they have to trust a synopsis and the conclusions drawn. Papers that jump to false conclusions are not published in GOOD journals. But I suppose it's safe to assume that you've read all these papers. So please enlighten us on their results & conclusions.
Excellent Job. Autism is NOT associated with Vaccines; and their is much research to support this. That does not mean that there are no other side effects from vaccines; but Autism is not one of them. Their is NO conspiracy here. Every vaccine side effect in the past was brought to light by researchers and published extensively; no matter how slight or severe.
I work with an autistic individual. he was born completely normal. after he was administered a vaccine for chicken pox at four and a half years of age, he developed symptoms of autism within eight weeks. coincidence? there are 44 other clients at this company where autism symptoms developed within four months after being injected with vaccines of all kinds. this may not be proof of a direct link, but it certainely demonstrates we do not have a clear answer.
Autism is a serious issue. Mercury in vaccines is truly not the problem; no less than 11 studies, from several lines of evidence, are tough to argue against with conspiracy charges. Conspiracy on this scale is highly unlikely. Other environmental and, especially, genetic causes are the front line, yet media is attentive to a vocal minority claiming they know better than all the scientific community. Based on very shaky reasoning, wrongful upset is going hasten more research into a dead-end area.
i don't understand hoe you can ignore the studies saying there is no link, oh and the scientific consensus, and the political consensus, oh and the fact that your an idiot (the last one was a joke haha o.O)
Unfortunately the myth that vaccines are linked to autism is out of the bag and no matter how many studies are done or how little sense the accusation even makes (given organo-mercury compounds have been largely eliminated from vaccines anyway) there are always some who will cling to this idea.
Any study that refutes it is generally considered to be more proof of the big conspiracy (big pharma, area 51, black helicopters and everything)
Also some people don't know what a chemical 'compound'
I wish this wasn't true, but it does seem to be the case. No amount of evidence will ever be enough for the true believers. In other issues it may not be a big deal, but in the case of vaccines, those beliefs can put their children and others in serious danger.
@DrBuzz0 I don't understand how conceiving and delivering a child graces parents with a biochemical background. I fervently advise parents against pseudo science, though as of late I've been distancing myself from clinical work.
In stark contrast to Sen. Obama's stance, here's what Palin said at the convention:
"To the families of special needs children all across this country, I have a message for you. For years you've sought to make America a more welcoming place for your sons and daughters and I pledge to you that if we're elected, you will have a friend and advocate in the White House".

Pregnent women are advised to eat little to no fish because of TRACE amounts of mercury! seriously!!! So why are babies injected with vaccines containing mercury at possibly fatal levels? To save money. It is a preservative. So the doctors can use less and save the remaining vaccine for their next victim!
Also why are babies given a hep b vaccine with so much mercury? Contraction of hep b almost always comes from needle use or unprotected sex. So when did infants become fillandering junkies?
Vertical (mom to child) transmission rate for Hep B is high. 20 to 80 percent or something depending on the antigens the mother is expressing. I think around 1 or 2 percent has a chronic infection.
I was under the impression Hep B vaccines are only given to the "at risk" population. Are schools requiring it now?
At first I thought this woman was very knowledgable good looking and intelligent.
Once she came out with her conclusion that there is no debate and therefor no link, I was very dissapointed.
The real debate is about the amount of mercury in the vaccines. Some vaccines, such as vaccines for hepatitis B, contained as much as 12.5 micrograms of mercury per dose. That's more than 100 times the EPA's upper limit standard when administered to infants. Look it up people!
She is correct. There is no link between autism and vaccines. Period. It was disinformation spread from misinterpreting data from the dynamic field of psychology by the media, which sought to create stories that would want to hear. Period.
Also, these studies were not funded by "big pharma," and most were done at academic institutions. The abstracts are always free to read through PubMed.
So not true. You really think that mercury, aluminum, antifreeze, formaldehyde and many more toxins have no effect on children. Well all of these ingredients are in VACCINES. My child got Autism from vaccines...I live this...be informed before you speak.
We are aware that the preservative in some vaccines is toxic, but it is SUPPOSED TO be below the threshold dose. Keep in mind almost anything can damage your body with a high enough dose. I am a med student trying to understand the opinions of people in your camp. Please tell me about your experience with finding that your child has what we have call autism. Blame is a common coping strategy after something like that, but I want to hear yoru story. Please share your experience with me.
The quantity of those toxic ingredients that vaccines contain is miniscule. I am not saying that vaccines are completely safe, but claiming vaccines are the only cause of autism has demonized the diagnosis and those who have it. As someone on the high functioning end of the spectrum, I take offense at being considered poisoned.
When you look at the unexplained and mysterious illnesses on the rise with no explanation of a cause or a cure, but yet, pharmaceutical business is steadily on the rise and the number of vaccinations given has grown 260% since 1983, WHY? Were there hundreds of children dying from illnesses like the chickenpox? No, then why the EXTREME increase in vaccinations? Why a chicken pox vaccine anyway?
Also my child had a reacation to the vaccines. She had 4 shots that day. 6 hours later there was blood in her diaper, seizures , fevers, unstoppable vommiting. And this did not include the notorious mmr vaccine btw. They believe it was the dtap that she reacted to. I speak to so many daily about the issue of vaccine reaction. It does matter. Check who sponsers these scientific studies- look who really pays for them. What is in their best interest? Think, THink, THINK.
Do you even know what tdap stands for? Tetanus, diptheria and pertussis-- three horrible and fatal diseases. It is unfortunate that your child had a bad reaction to the vaccine, but I assure you that whatever happened was mild compared to what would have happened had your child contracted ANY of these diseases. Life is about weighing risks and benefits-- some people are injured by airbags, but the number of lives saved by them far outweighs those injuries. The same holds true with vaccines.
I must remind you my daughter had a vaccine reaction. She almost DIED from it. Dead. Do you not get it? Dead. Please check the legal defination of removal as it pertains to vaccine fillers. It is a eye opener cokie. Every day I hear from another parent whose child has a had a vaccine reaction from mild to death. My child had a seizure just this week. Think about that. My daughter is not alone. Think on that .
cokie81, if you look at the FDA, EPA and CDC's own standards of what is considered a 'safe-limit' of Mercurcy, a known-neurotoxin (& 2nd most poisonus substance), it will read around 1.0 Micrograms. In one shot you can have upto and over 60 micrograms of mercury.
The univ. of Calgary found that even .01 micrograms of mercury destroys/damages neurons in the brain (youtube the video). Have you read what is in Vaccines? -tissue from aborted fetuses, chicken embryos, cow serum etc - cont.
Maybe when you have children and you bring them in for there numerous vaccines, they will have a reaction. Stop talking, smiling, playing and looking into your eyes(usually after the 12 month vaccines). Will you then say screw the studies that are out ( they are a bunch of crap) and trust you OWN INSTINCTS!!! But hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones and have to NEVER experience such suffering...our children should not be science experiments!!
When you've watched a child die from polio, diptheria, pertussus, smallpox, or one of the many other diseases that vaccines have been PROVEN to prevent, maybe then your anti-vaccine rant will hold some weight with me. Thanks to vaccines, you probably don't even know what these diseases ARE. The fact is, science shows vaccines are proven to prevent disease. It does not show they cause autism.
those diseased died out because of hygiene and sanitation way before the vaccinations were invented. most people died because they brought down their fever, and fever is your only defense mechanism agains viruses.
Let me ask you this.. so you think it is safe to inject a young baby with no protection surrounding its brain over 20 different vaccines(some of them boosters) within the first 12 months of life. Ther are still trace amounts of Thimerisol in vaccines..DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! The trace amounts in vaccines are considered TOO DANGEROUS FOR DRINKING WATER!!! I have seen a 12 month old walking and speaking her first words to after her shots where she was stumbling and not talking at all!!!
did you giver her tylenol after the shots, some doctors recommend it, and it is so wrong. how can they do that knowing that fever is the only thing that helps you fight off viruses, its common sense. it is safe to have a fever up to 104, it doesnt go up to a dangerous level unless you suppress it.
Do Americans know that they have a 11 trillion dollar deficit? Do Americans know the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is being fought with borrowed money from the Chinese? Do Americans know that China is buying up half of the American economy (soveriegn wealth funds). Do Americans know that why they cant pressure the Chinese on the security council into stoping the darfur genocide and halting Iranian nuclear ambitions is largely driven by the fact that the China is the US' financier.
As a Canadian I really like Obama, very articulate individual, knows the issues, charismatic and very well educated. He looks like an individual who most people can relate to because of the fact that he was not born with a gold spoon in his mouth. What happened to McCain? I mean does he really believe what he really says? From economics stand point the bush tax cuts were disastrous and one can easily look at the deficit.
There hasn't been mercury in vaccines since the early-mid nineties I believe. Making it even less plausible that a connection exists considering rates of diagnosis have continued to climb, even after mercury was banned from vaccines.
Razela, Thimerosal is still in the vaccines. When they said they "removed" the thimerosal (mercury) from the vaccines they were half right. The removal not a law but a loose recomendation was referring to the legal term removal. In the pharmactuical world that means thimerosal could be used in the production of the vaccine procces but must be filtered out afterwards. How do you filter out mercury? You dont . Mercury is still in the vacciens Reply please I am a mother of a vaccine injured child
Is it possible that the studies your citing are biased as is alot of "scientific research" being done under the dime of the pharmeceutical companies?? Razela, maybe YOU should be the one apologizing, and maybe you should try doing some research, try googling "The Hannah Poling case"!
We are all genetically unique and should be aware that some children may need specific vaccine schedules that separate vaccines and also allow children to get these vaccines later...not 12 months old.
It is not only the Thimerosal that they are now researching regarding the link to Autism, but the combination of a genetic predisposition AND the combination of vaccines...the MMR shot is 3 different vaccines combined. These people are more susceptible to vaccines PLURAL and this may be something that needs to be looked at on an individual case..just like Jenny Mc Carthy does state. Not everyone's bodies should be put in one category.
There have been over 1200 families who have been awarded monies through settlements that do state the link. Dr. Bernadine Healy a former NIH director has recently been in the news (CBS News) stating that there are more needed studies and that the US government has indeed NOT ruled out the link between the two.
As a person who not only has 2 people in my family with Autism and also a person who has worked in the "Autism community" for over 7 years, I find your comments to be ignorant and very one sided. I do not necessarily believe that there is any one factor albeit environmental or genetic that causes autism, but there HAS been significant research and outcomes stating that there is a link between vaccines and autism.
a doctor who saw 35,000 amish children, found that only four, in contrast to the statistical norm of 140 for that group, had autism. one had lived near a power plant where the soil was mercury contaminated. the other three, two of which had been adopted, had been vaccinated. my father, a chiropractor, took us to a local school to hand out leaflets on the dangers of vaccines thirty years ago. many people scoffed at us, and the authorities treated us like subversives of some kind. ignorance costs.
thank you. yeah, he was ahead of his time about a lot of stuff, but you know a lot of people will defend their ignorance to theirs, or someone else's death.
They do know that mothers and fathers of children with Autism are crying out everywhere about dealing with the consequences of vaccines. Just because the medical community has said that it is not so, does not mean that the link does not exist. Sadly it took our first 3 children to see the link. Our fourth is thriving without this disease or vaccines. This is not a guess to us. We know. I pray that these candidates listen to the people, not a billion dollar industry. And certainly not you.
I don't subscribe to the idea that doctors are better at diagnosing autism. Autism spectrum disorders are on the rise, I believe. Whether it's from vaccines or other enviromental factors. All I'm really saying is sometimes it a good idea to fact check the facts. Special interest (big pharm) with unlimited capitol has a funny way with scientific studies of their own drugs.
Them, thimerosal was the substance thought to possibly have a connection. However, it hasn't been used in vaccines since about 94'. Yet, the amount of children diagnosed with autism is still on the rise. If there was a link, the number of autism cases should have dropped when thimerosal was no longer being used.
You seem to distrust the studies due to a distrust of "big pharma." This isn't just one study we are talking about. Tons of studies have been done, not just by pharm's, but also by gov't, non-gov't, universities, and other research labs in the US and Europe. They all come to the same conclusion that there isn't a connection. It's about looking at the whole of the research, not just individual studies (which as you pointed out could have serious bias).
Razela ... from what I've learned about vaccines is that they've been a suspected link to autism. I think it's important to look at who is doing the studies. The Warren Commission was supposed to be the final conclusive study on the assassination of JFK as well at the 9/11 commission. I have also learned that the substance in question is Thimerasol which is made from Mercury?! This can't be safe. I'm going to continue this on a new comment..
I know, I just bought it but haven't read it yet. I loved some of her others, but haven't read this one. I've heard some really good things though. I'll get around to it soon.
OMG, are you serious? Because they are concerned there might be a link you are "disappointed" with them. And for your information, there still is a debate out there. Even the surgeon general has come out and said there needs to be more studies. And most of these "studies" I will liken to the oil company's studies on global warming. I can't believe you made this vid. What an inane argument you make.
Oh, and I also did a text post recently about Gravel declaring his run as a libertarian. I only make 2ish videos a month, so it's hard to get everyone in all the time. I do more text based posts though on my blog where I can fit in more information, especially on some of the fringe candidates.
How about acknowledging that Ron Paul is still in the race then... and that his supporters are exercising their rights in caucuses across the country?
why are so focused on the main candidates? haven't you even thought about speaking about mike gravel or ralph nader? you look like an intelligent woman. why have you been negligent on mentioning these other 2 candidates? it's frustrating when people don't include all sides.
Actually, it wasn't so much an interview as it was Mike Gravel angry and frustrated and wanting to vent about how the media doesn't pay enough attention to candidates like him. Search "Gravel" on my channel to see it.
people only consider them "fringe" because of corporate media and distortion of the truth.the corporate world is against these 2 candidates because they will propose real change to the socio-economic policies that this current government embraces. so i don't think fringe is a correct term in my point of view. although maybe you probably meant it as them being marginalized rather than extreme candidates.
And rightfully so, Gravel is right... I mean there's ppl out there concentrating on trivial stuff like "Best Looking Candidate" instead of "Smartest".
So there is no link between vaccines & autism? Based on what? CDC epidemiologist Tom Verstraeten, which found a statistically significant link between mercury-based vaccines and autism. Did you miss that one?
I think it's not just doctors getting better at identifying autism, but it's also the usual effect of our media focusing on stuff that people become hyper-aware of.
Plus, you have to wonder what the pollutants in our air, water and food cause. I think that unless there's concrete proof that vaccines are any real threat, then the good they do far outweighs any suspicions.
People forget that it used to be common that half a couple's kids would die of disease!
A lot of people are calling for a science debate between the final presidential candidates. I think this would be an awesome idea. Go to sciencedebate2008 (dot) c0m and sign up as a supporter.
Mercury Toxicity & Autism - do a search on YouTube to see some more acurate information. Also, If you have a child with autism or wish to know more please contact a D.A.N. Doctor. (D.A.N. = Defeat Autism Now)
You are a fool! I have an autistic son. We KNOW that the vacs caused it. Yes there are DOZENS of studies that VERIFY that Vacs did it. I'm not sure if you work for the drug companies or what, but you need to stop propogating your foolishness!
the candidates refused to go to the set up science debate - instead they went to a "compassion forum" - seem like they thought it was a lot more important to go to their second forum on religion, than going to the first forum on science. A shame.
Where do you get your "scientific evidence" and tons of studies? You realize the studies you are referring to, are all epidemiological studies, the same studies that proved smoking tobacco DID NOT cause lung cancer. We believed those studies for over a decade! But, maybe you do not believe that smoking causes cancer.
I only hope our next president will do something about the over-vaccination of our children. Our current president has stuck his head in his ass the entire presidency, and done nothing about this matter.
no evidence? I guess you have never heard of Hannah Poling. Or perhaps the little boy who's case was just removed from the class action, as he has the same mitochondrial DNA markers as Hannah Poling.
I don't know about Obama and McCain, but I was just talking to Hillary and she thanks you for bringing this to her attention. From now on you may consider her words on the subject rescinded.
Ask not where hillary stands on an issue - ask where you stand on an issue - and then you will know where hillary stands. She needs to be on both sides of every issue to get as many votes as she can, to try to make a case to the superdelegates to throw the election her way now. It's impossible for her to win any other way.
Funny, seems like that statement applies to Mr. Blank Slate himself Barack Obama. Muslims think he is muslim, christians think he is christian and atheists think he is atheist.
Hillary is the best chance this country has, but you people would rather have an American Idol contest.
i am an atheist - i don't think he is atheist, nor do any of my atheist friends think he's an atheist, we think that he is christian. Muslims have been complaining about him being portrayed as a muslim. I don't particularly care for any of the 3 candidates remaining in the race. I personally think it has become an american idol competition - and i thought john edwards was a better candidate that both hillary an obama. But people wanted to see the spectacle.
I've seen several atheists online who think he is an atheist. They cite his relatively secular mother and that he only found Christianity as he decided to enter politics (he said he converted because he liked the "transformational" power of black churches or something).
I'm an atheist as well, but I don't think it is really possible to know what's in his heart. I could easily see him joining his church for mere political purposes though since he's had such a dirty political past
Seriously - she went from saying "lobbyists are people to" to "i'm going to take on special interests" in the course of a week.
The one thing that has been consistent with her is her blatant opportunism.
I generally consider politicians to be about as trustworthy as a used car salesmen, but if i vote for one that is so callous towards the citizens that she doesn't even bother trying to pretend she's consistent
Well, I can understand what she meant by them being people too. Lobbyist CAN actually represent the interests of groups of people like Teacer's Unions. At least she is upfront about it unlike Barack who lies about all his lobbyist money with his shell games.
When I mean Barack is dirty then I mean DIRTY. He hired a lawyer to knock off every other name off the ballot when he first ran for state senator - he was "elected" unopposed.
Then take a look at his US Senate race where it was proven that he worked to get Blair Hull's records unsealed, which totally smeared him. In the exact same race, his other opponent had his divorce records unsealed, despite both parents pleading to the (liberal) judge that it could harm their 9-year old child. So Jack and Jeri Ryan got smeared too and Obama won.
Only a fool would think he didn't work to unseal their divorce records too.
I think that you're projecting your own wishes of who hillary is onto her. Sure, lobbyists are people too - i can justify that - but if you look at her actual record, she hasn't dismissed the wishes of lobbyists who are undeniably not in the publics interest. How do you think her healthcare plan was shut down in the 90s? It wasn't the sniper fire. How does she expect to change her results by defending the lobbyists from getting her agenda passed in the first place?
lol are you implying that she took money from lobbyists when she was the First Lady? Her plan got shut down because a bunch of spineless democrats didn't have enough votes to override a Republican filibuster.
Obama basically copied his entire platform from Hillary - even McCain's camp said he literally plagiarized her entire economic plan. Why should I trust that his campaign promises are more than just words when he has merely stolen his entire campaign platform from others?
Boy were you right! I didn't realize what a hot button issue this was for some people. I guess people will grasp for any answer even if its the wrong one.
The sad thing is that this focus on vaccines probably detracts from more promising autism research elsewhere.
It looks like it took about 12 hours for them to find it. I've already been accused of getting "paid" by some shadowy organization of some sort. I so wish someone was paying me to make videos.
Show me any other campaign for disinformation. Remove the Mercury, Alum., formaldehyde, ether, antifreeze. Reevaluate the sched. What was the death rate from these deadly diseases in 1983 that we had to add 26 shots? All we need is therapy, respite, and recovery.
when your child doesn't have ANTIBODIES to the vaccines that caused a serious adverse reaction, it shows something. btw- children with Primary Immunodeficiencies SHOULD NOT have vaccines! I wish I knew the signs before my daughter was injured!
no kidding, too many kids with this condition are vaccinated, and injured every day! Vaccines can KILL and cause encephalitis in children with Primary Immunodeficiency!!!!!! It is no surprise that kids with autism have a higher occurence of Primary Immunodeficiency!
I approve of the shameless self propmotion at the end.
j/k. <3
Anyway, they need to address it, just from a wide perspective. I mean, if they got bad info, then we really can't trust them with any kind of, and I don't mean to minimalize autism, major issues. Same that if they were lying.
The short version is there are, lest I be mistaken, 1 in 150 kids with autism now. And as you said, it's a health issue, and shouldn't health be near the top of the totem pole?
Yah, I was worried about it seeming like I was marketing my blog, but I really wanted to make sure that I gave the links to my sources, and also a place to find more information on the topic. Taking my word for it is just as bad as taking the anti-vaccination crowd's word.
My experience as a teacher has been that the "increased diagnosis" explanation is exactly right. It is nice to know that research has confirmed that conjecture.
It would really be refreshing if any kind of politician would admit that didn't know everything.
Thanks for dealing with this. I've been following this issue as well and the backlash again vaccines, as relatively small as that has been, has led to some tragedies.
yes, tragedies of children that are injured by vaccines. Do you know what children should be contraindicated for vaccination? Think our children's doctors know? My daughter's didn't.
Can you recall the last time one of the candidates uttered the phrase "I was wrong" during the campaign?
But that aside, from your quotes, it sounds as if Hillary is the only one who responded reasonably. She simply stated that the subject needs further study. It's not a suggestion that vaccination should be suspended. She stated that she was willing to keep an open mind. Given the fact that she isn't intimately familiar with the facts on the topic, this attitude seems refreshingly reasonable.
Well... there's a chance that the future president will say stupid things to appease stupid people, then ignore their promises and govern effectively. It depends on how likely they think it is that they would be caught later on.
Governing effectively may not be enough. The problem is that the candidates are passing on wrong information. If people refuse vaccinations for their kids because of what candidates said during the campaign, the harm is already done, whether or not they govern effectively.
The debate on autism is not over, in fact, it is not really a debate at all but a conflict between honest scientists who have no political, sociopolitical, or financial motives who present valid studies with valid info and deranged scientists with political and financial motives who present misleading scientific conclusions arrived at through unsound and unsatisfactory scientific methods, or falsified scientific data.

" But there are plenty of children who have received these vaccines (and are now inoculated from diseases) and are not autistic."
That's because those children have high levels of glutathione and certain enzymes that allow them to excrete the ethyl mercury, in thimerosal, in their hair and waste.

Many, many, many people do think there is a connection. The fact that the CDC refutes it, does not make it so.

Terren5 3 years ago 4
People keep saying that studies have proved there is no link, but have they actually READ those studies? I bet they didn't, because if they did they would see that they prove NOTHING. Read the Peltola, Hviid, and Honda studies. Read also the Terada and Nakatani papers on vaccine uptake and put this together with the Honda paper and you will see the problem.
sonia989 3 years ago
The thing is 1) people don't have the time to read ever paper 2) most lay people would not be able to understand the details of a research paper. Thus they have to trust a synopsis and the conclusions drawn. Papers that jump to false conclusions are not published in GOOD journals. But I suppose it's safe to assume that you've read all these papers. So please enlighten us on their results & conclusions.

Excellent Job. Autism is NOT associated with Vaccines; and their is much research to support this. That does not mean that there are no other side effects from vaccines; but Autism is not one of them. Their is NO conspiracy here. Every vaccine side effect in the past was brought to light by researchers and published extensively; no matter how slight or severe.

why you ask?
because they rather have children with a brain disorder than have half the country wiped out because of deadly disease

I work with an autistic individual. he was born completely normal. after he was administered a vaccine for chicken pox at four and a half years of age, he developed symptoms of autism within eight weeks. coincidence? there are 44 other clients at this company where autism symptoms developed within four months after being injected with vaccines of all kinds. this may not be proof of a direct link, but it certainely demonstrates we do not have a clear answer.
thinkalittlemore 3 years ago
Autism is a serious issue. Mercury in vaccines is truly not the problem; no less than 11 studies, from several lines of evidence, are tough to argue against with conspiracy charges. Conspiracy on this scale is highly unlikely. Other environmental and, especially, genetic causes are the front line, yet media is attentive to a vocal minority claiming they know better than all the scientific community. Based on very shaky reasoning, wrongful upset is going hasten more research into a dead-end area.

DrBuzz0 3 years ago
I wish this wasn't true, but it does seem to be the case. No amount of evidence will ever be enough for the true believers. In other issues it may not be a big deal, but in the case of vaccines, those beliefs can put their children and others in serious danger.

So when did infants become fillandering junkies?
infowarriorpdx 3 years ago
Hep B Vaccine Info:
Vertical (mom to child) transmission rate for Hep B is high. 20 to 80 percent or something depending on the antigens the mother is expressing. I think around 1 or 2 percent has a chronic infection.
I was under the impression Hep B vaccines are only given to the "at risk" population. Are schools requiring it now?
iseeboredpeople 3 years ago
At first I thought this woman was very knowledgable good looking and intelligent.
Once she came out with her conclusion that there is no debate and therefor no link, I was very dissapointed.
The real debate is about the amount of mercury in the vaccines. Some vaccines, such as vaccines for hepatitis B, contained as much as 12.5 micrograms of mercury per dose. That's more than 100 times the EPA's upper limit standard when administered to infants. Look it up people!
infowarriorpdx 3 years ago
And from which conspiracy blog was this conjured?

Also, these studies were not funded by "big pharma," and most were done at academic institutions. The abstracts are always free to read through PubMed.

So not true. You really think that mercury, aluminum, antifreeze, formaldehyde and many more toxins have no effect on children. Well all of these ingredients are in VACCINES. My child got Autism from vaccines...I live this...be informed before you speak.
kddboston 3 years ago 3
We are aware that the preservative in some vaccines is toxic, but it is SUPPOSED TO be below the threshold dose. Keep in mind almost anything can damage your body with a high enough dose. I am a med student trying to understand the opinions of people in your camp. Please tell me about your experience with finding that your child has what we have call autism. Blame is a common coping strategy after something like that, but I want to hear yoru story. Please share your experience with me.
iseeboredpeople 3 years ago

Why a chicken pox vaccine anyway?
erinamondo 3 years ago 2

-tissue from aborted fetuses, chicken embryos, cow serum etc - cont.
foreverand2day 3 years ago
-cont: formadahyde, aluminum, etc.. what does any of that have to do with protecting me against disease?
Thimerosal, we are told, is a preservative, yet it does not protect against bacteria or fungus. So it doesn't even do what it is suppoused to do.
foreverand2day 3 years ago
Maybe when you have children and you bring them in for there numerous vaccines, they will have a reaction. Stop talking, smiling, playing and looking into your eyes(usually after the 12 month vaccines). Will you then say screw the studies that are out ( they are a bunch of crap) and trust you OWN INSTINCTS!!! But hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones and have to NEVER experience such suffering...our children should not be science experiments!!
nschofield08 3 years ago
When you've watched a child die from polio, diptheria, pertussus, smallpox, or one of the many other diseases that vaccines have been PROVEN to prevent, maybe then your anti-vaccine rant will hold some weight with me. Thanks to vaccines, you probably don't even know what these diseases ARE. The fact is, science shows vaccines are proven to prevent disease. It does not show they cause autism.
cokie81 3 years ago 3
those diseased died out because of hygiene and sanitation way before the vaccinations were invented. most people died because they brought down their fever, and fever is your only defense mechanism agains viruses.

I have seen a 12 month old walking and speaking her first words to after her shots where she was stumbling and not talking at all!!!
nschofield08 3 years ago
did you giver her tylenol after the shots, some doctors recommend it, and it is so wrong. how can they do that knowing that fever is the only thing that helps you fight off viruses, its common sense. it is safe to have a fever up to 104, it doesnt go up to a dangerous level unless you suppress it.

Do Americans know that China is buying up half of the American economy (soveriegn wealth funds). "alleging a link between vaccines and autism"
between the mercury in vaccines wich is a perfectly moderate assumption. ther sjud be no mercury in the vaccines anyhow.
Vilmenhart 3 years ago
There hasn't been mercury in vaccines since the early-mid nineties I believe. Making it even less plausible that a connection exists considering rates of diagnosis have continued to climb, even after mercury was banned from vaccines.
Razela 3 years ago
Razela, Thimerosal is still in the vaccines. When they said they "removed" the thimerosal (mercury) from the vaccines they were half right. The removal not a law but a loose recomendation was referring to the legal term removal. In the pharmactuical world that means thimerosal could be used in the production of the vaccine procces but must be filtered out afterwards. How do you filter out mercury? You dont . Mercury is still in the vacciens Reply please I am a mother of a vaccine injured child

We are all genetically unique and should be aware that some children may need specific vaccine schedules that separate vaccines and also allow children to get these vaccines later...not 12 months old.
erikalynnwalsh 3 years ago
It is not only the Thimerosal that they are now researching regarding the link to Autism, but the combination of a genetic predisposition AND the combination of vaccines...the MMR shot is 3 different vaccines combined. These people are more susceptible to vaccines PLURAL and this may be something that needs to be looked at on an individual case..just like Jenny Mc Carthy does state. Not everyone's bodies should be put in one category.
erikalynnwalsh 3 years ago
There have been over 1200 families who have been awarded monies through settlements that do state the link. Dr. Bernadine Healy a former NIH director has recently been in the news (CBS News) stating that there are more needed studies and that the US government has indeed NOT ruled out the link between the two.

As a person who not only has 2 people in my family with Autism and also a person who has worked in the "Autism community" for over 7 years, I find your comments to be ignorant and very one sided. a doctor who saw 35,000 amish children, found that only four, in contrast to the statistical norm of 140 for that group, had autism. one had lived near a power plant where the soil was mercury contaminated. the other three, two of which had been adopted, had been vaccinated. my father, a chiropractor, took us to a local school to hand out leaflets on the dangers of vaccines thirty years ago. many people scoffed at us, and the authorities treated us like subversives of some kind. ignorance costs.

Special interest (big pharm) with unlimited capitol has a funny way with scientific studies of their own drugs.
them2002 3 years ago
Them, thimerosal was the substance thought to possibly have a connection. However, it hasn't been used in vaccines since about 94'. Yet, the amount of children diagnosed with autism is still on the rise. If there was a link, the number of autism cases should have dropped when thimerosal was no longer being used.
Razela 3 years ago
You seem to distrust the studies due to a distrust of "big pharma." This isn't just one study we are talking about. Tons of studies have been done, not just by pharm's, but also by gov't, non-gov't, universities, and other research labs in the US and Europe. They all come to the same conclusion that there isn't a connection. It's about looking at the whole of the research, not just individual studies (which as you pointed out could have serious bias).
Razela 3 years ago
Razela ... from what I've learned about vaccines is that they've been a suspected link to autism. I think it's important to look at who is doing the studies. The Warren Commission was supposed to be the final conclusive study on the assassination of JFK as well at the 9/11 commission. I have also learned that the substance in question is Thimerasol which is made from Mercury?! This can't be safe. I'm going to continue this on a new comment..

eekdog2005 3 years ago
I think it's not just doctors getting better at identifying autism, but it's also the usual effect of our media focusing on stuff that people become hyper-aware of.
Plus, you have to wonder what the pollutants in our air, water and food cause. I think that unless there's concrete proof that vaccines are any real threat, then the good they do far outweighs any suspicions.

It's impossible for her to win any other way.
driubi 3 years ago
Funny, seems like that statement applies to Mr. Blank Slate himself Barack Obama. Muslims think he is muslim, christians think he is christian and atheists think he is atheist.
Hillary is the best chance this country has, but you people would rather have an American Idol contest.
thegoodlocust 3 years ago
i am an atheist - i don't think he is atheist, nor do any of my atheist friends think he's an atheist, we think that he is christian.

I could easily see him joining his church for mere political purposes though since he's had such a dirty political past
thegoodlocust 3 years ago
and hillary clinton hasn't?
Seriously - she went from saying "lobbyists are people to" to "i'm going to take on special interests" in the course of a week.
The one thing that has been consistent with her is her blatant opportunism.
I generally consider politicians to be about as trustworthy as a used car salesmen, but if i vote for one that is so callous towards the citizens that she doesn't even bother trying to pretend she's consistent
driubi 3 years ago
- then i forfeit my right to complain about inconsistencies she'd show in office.
driubi 3 years ago
Well, I can understand what she meant by them being people too. Lobbyist CAN actually represent the interests of groups of people like Teacer's Unions. At least she is upfront about it unlike Barack who lies about all his lobbyist money with his shell games.
When I mean Barack is dirty then I mean DIRTY. He hired a lawyer to knock off every other name off the ballot when he first ran for state senator - he was "elected" unopposed.
thegoodlocust 3 years ago
Then take a look at his US Senate race where it was proven that he worked to get Blair Hull's records unsealed, which totally smeared him. In the exact same race, his other opponent had his divorce records unsealed, despite both parents pleading to the (liberal) judge that it could harm their 9-year old child. So Jack and Jeri Ryan got smeared too and Obama won.
Only a fool would think he didn't work to unseal their divorce records too.
thegoodlocust 3 years ago
I think that you're projecting your own wishes of who hillary is onto her. Sure, lobbyists are people too - i can justify that - but if you look at her actual record, she hasn't dismissed the wishes of lobbyists who are undeniably not in the publics interest. How do you think her healthcare plan was shut down in the 90s? It wasn't the sniper fire. How does she expect to change her results by defending the lobbyists from getting her agenda passed in the first place?
driubi 3 years ago
lol are you implying that she took money from lobbyists when she was the First Lady? Her plan got shut down because a bunch of spineless democrats didn't have enough votes to override a Republican filibuster.
Obama basically copied his entire platform from Hillary - even McCain's camp said he literally plagiarized her entire economic plan. Why should I trust that his campaign promises are more than just words when he has merely stolen his entire campaign platform from others?

when your child doesn't have ANTIBODIES to the vaccines that caused a serious adverse reaction, it shows something. btw- children with Primary Immunodeficiencies SHOULD NOT have vaccines!

You so go this one right, Razela.

Given the fact that she isn't intimately familiar with the facts on the topic, this attitude seems refreshingly reasonable.

.0000001% chance that even one will bother to even check up on their statements. I can hope though.

Well... there's a chance that the future president will say stupid things to appease stupid people, then ignore their promises and govern effectively. It depends on how likely they think it is that they would be caught later on.
valhar2000 3 years ago
right, after all if you don't even bother to ask you have done nothing and your chances becomes 0.
