  • is this the kit were you have to put the poop decks railing in hot warter and bend it around the stern of the ship???

  • @vegitibles

yeah it is, and its so awkward

  • Looks pretty decent. I just bought this kit. Im going to try to make a wreck model with it though.

  • CONASE

  • do you need to buy the paint or each sold seperately?

  • you buy paint seperatly

  • is this water proof? lol seriously

  • in theory no,

but it will float on water because of the wieght distribution.

just need a little ballast to stop it keeling over though

  • oh and mine is a little smaller

  • if you compare mine to yours, you win. i have the same model. a bit poorly painted on the black things on the deck, and abit broken .

  • im gonna get this one at my birthday!!!! =D

    it's very hard to build?

    the funnels are deachable?

    can put inthe water?

    it needs all that line?

  • cool

no, its relatively easy as long as you have time and paitience

the funnels are not detachable once glued down

you can put it in water but needs ballast

doesnt need all that line, just for show

  • i have enough patience!

someone who played dick tracy on NES have patience to ALL!

thanks dude, it's my child's dream to have a Titanic model to play it on the water, to make movies

    thanks

  • I completely circumvented the flimsy string problem by using braided nylon fishing line on mine. After I stitched it through the funnels and the floor, a hung modeling clamps from each end of the string to make them taught. Then, all I had to do was paint the line. Turned out beautiful.

  • what color paint did you use for the funnels?

  • Matt 15 revell gloss

  • how much does it cost??

  • in pounds sterling its around £40, but it depends how much you shop around

  • I have completely sam model like you he is so great :)I have on my model ropes.

  • yes i did search the revell website for information about this model kit. Is that where you got yours from? I read today that the 1:570 scale is around 470mm long, but i'm still not sure as i bought the civilian airline model kit that on the box said 470mm fuselage and body length but when i built it it was over 600mm. It on the airfix site, and its a boeing 747 kit, if you want to see it by any chance. I'm just not sure about the length of the titanic kit before i buy one? thanks for your reply

  • yes, mine is Revell

  • that does look highly detailed by revell, thanks for posting this, i think i will but it soon, after i have done my law coursework though lol

  • it looks highly detailed, but it still lacks key features, but hey, it would take us years to build if they including everything

  • based on that vid though, i think it does look very detailed, but you should have put some ropes in i think for more effect, from like the cotton used in sewing and stiching which is very thin. Yes you are right though it would take ages, but have you seen the titanic model that the guy built from matchsticks? Now thats what i call devotion and sticking through with something, and look at how big and detailed the whole thing is to, if he did a good paint job on though it would look amazing.

  • its funny you say that, i was watching some of his vids today, including the finished one. it looks amazing.

by the way, i didnt put the ropes in because the cotton supplied by revell is not acceptable. its really thick and it swamps the model, awell

  • After how much i said i wanted a titanic model, i ended up getting a 1:72 concorde Airfix kit for £25 from toymaster lol. Anyway thanks for your help though, and arsenal will beat Man u @ the weekend, and as you can probably tell i support ARSENAL lol

  • lol no worries,

  • I think you have done a good job here. is this a model kit? because i was thinking of getting the titanic model kit and it is 1:570. By the way do you know how big the model would be in cm and mm if u know please?

  • thankyou for those kind words.

yes it is a model kit. i have a few, they take agggesss lol.

mine is 65 cm approx/ 650 mil approx. but that is mine which is 1:400. so yours would be slightly smaller.
