That was pretty damn cool, I have to admit =] It's on my favourites now.

I've never watched the anime series of Hana Yori Dango even though I've read all the manga and watched all of the J-Drama. I'm one of these people that gets very very fussy about art style... I almost didn't read the manga because of it ^_^; And I'm not a 100% of how the anime looks from what I've seen... for one thing Tsukasa looks too physically bulky. It's weird.

Should I watch it? Does it follow the manga dead-on?

It doesn't, but it's not bad.

And yeah, the art in the anime is...not good. They tried, sort of at least, to copy the art in the begging of the manga. The manga-ka improved greatly, but the art in the anime doesn't really change.

Yeah the steady improvement of the manga-ka's technique is pretty obvious in the manga, isn't it? But I guess you can get that with a lot of manga-ka =] Have you read Cat Street (also by Kamio Youko)? Luckily her artistic style stays the same throughout that and it's pretty awesome as a series. A LOT shorter than HYD though lol
