  • Aww, too badd am live in Sweden :( We have cold and rain now, soon snow >_>

Is there another ways of drying chili? Can someone reccomend?

  • Hallo,@soetDjur -I'm Italian and I'm doing three months pickled peppers and oil. You must first chop the peppers and put on them the salt, when the liquid does not drip over (after about 2-3 days), wash them in water to remove salt Surplus and dry them again (I used a hot air gun : -) now you can put them in oil or, if properly dried, grind into powder. I started to eat them and they are good! :-) P.s. We do not shove the flesh but from the stalk. Have fun if you find them again!

  • @deahera Hello, why do you have to put salt on them for 2-3 days before you put them in oil? Any specific reason?

  • @soetDjur-For the preservation of peppers and tomatoes in southern Italy, we put out to dry in the sun as the chili products, they just have to dry in a warm and windy place. You can also put in salt (I said that I do it for 2-3 days, but just less, some do it for one night only) 24 hours are fine. The salt serves to deprive the liquids that would otherwise rot in the food (dehydration),

  • @soetDjur In Sicily for centuries kept the fish in this way. After chillies drained and washed to remove the excess salt you have to make him a good drying, just pass them in paper towels or a clean kitchen. I advise you to see some videos about the sicilan salted sardines, then a particular food that is used in Calabria, made in Ciro Marina, which is called "Pilcher" (I kept the fry of sardines with chili) a food that you eat putting a little on the bread, as a cream. very good! Have to eat it

  • i grow hot peppers and had a monster harvest. i have been trying your method but not sure if they have to come in at night or when it's raining? yes , i forgot about them in the rain. thanks, charles

  • Nice video! Which pepper would be the best all around for making ground pepper?
