one of my most favorite anime movies and a very nice song from explosions in the sky. i've seen the movie many times and i know how it feels. this amv though gives hope.. a chance for a happy ending.. but i guess it depends on the viewer's interpretation really.

@bendm16 I haven't seen it in a while, but pretty much the guy and girl end up separated. The ending is supposed to reflect the beginning when they were kids and crossed the railroad. They pass by again by chance years later, and the guy realizes it's her and turns to wait for the train to pass by---but she's not there. She didn't wait. She left.

this video reminds me of "lost in translation" especially the scene where charlotte is riding in a train marvelling at the lush vistas outside of the ride on her way to kyoto. the music complements the anime since it brings a sense of melancholy and optimistic tone at the end.
