ISAIAH 53,11After he has suffered,he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many ,and made intercession for the transgressors. THIS KIND TRUE SHARP PROPHECY ARE ALL OVER HOLY SCRIPTURE(BIBLE)
ISAIAH 53,9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. ONLY BLIND CAN NOT SEE and liars will say that this is vague
ISAIAH 53, 7 He was oppressed and afflicted,yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. ONLY BLIND LIARS AND DECIVERS will say that this is vague this is clear description of JESUS CHRIST torment
ISAIAH 53.5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; ,the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him he iniquity of us all ,7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth;he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
Hebrew Prophet isaiah woes living 700Bc and describing pain suffering of Jesus Christ ISAIAH 53,3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering,yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
vague prophecy dont exist only TRUE PROPHECY AND FALSE PROPHECY EXIST and HOLY BIBLE PROPHECY ARE SHARP-announced 700 years before birth of Jesus Christ Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.And700 years latter woes fullfiled
Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). blind people will say that this is vague
Another SPECIFIC prophecy is the 8 Beasts.Beast means Kingdom .There were 7 Kingdoms that ruledthe Middle East through history,Babylon,Assyria,Egypt,Medo-Persia,Greece,Rome,Ottoman Empire. The Book of Revelation says the 7th will also be the 8th.That 8th Beast will be led by the Antichrist.Islam is the 8th revived.ALL Islam awaits a man they call Mahdi,a man who resembles EXACTLY the Bible's Antimessiah. You are living in the "last days".
Since I don't have a Bible in front of me ,I'll give you a SPECIFIC prophecy that I know of;Zechariah Chapter 5,he tells of a vision he has of a flying scroll, written on the scroll is a CURSE,he warns that the CURSE will spread over the land. The word Zech.uses which means CURSE is ALAH.Islam is spreading THAT curse RIGHT NOW.
You don't understand what it means to have faith. God loved Abraham and became his friend because his faith. Through faith in Yahushua we are saved. If a prophecy is fulfilled, it enhances faith. The problem is people want all the answers to the slightest detail. There is no faith if all the answers are given to you. True love is having faith and God wants true love and so do we.
@PuertoRicanTakeOva funny how all you have to offer as an answer or evidence is faith. faith is not wanting to know the truth. faith means shutting down critical thinking to hold yourself away from intellect and in the days of believing in superstitions. Ask yourself this, does Zeus exist? you're probably thinking, NO. because Zeus may have stories written of him and his greatness, but no evidence for them. just like your superstitious being.
@JeffreyRegistre Actually speaking from tremendous amount of experience from things I've witnessed felt and places been. Brother you're speaking w/ someone who has a tremendous amount of life experience and I can say for certain theres not only A GOD but THE BIBLICAL GOD. Faith actually has allowed me to learn, analyze and be very into detail with everything/everyone. Theres also much wisdom in The Bible. If you claim to be intelligent you would comprehend this life itself became spiritual war.
@PuertoRicanTakeOva morality? from the bible? wisdom? from the bible? the book that tells people to stone women for adultery? the one that says stone children for disobedience? the fact that ur cherry picking from this means u recognize it isn't a good book to get examples from.. and it doesn't seem like you care if this is true or not, just want to have faith in fairy tales(actually, fairy tells have good endings, bible doesn't).
@JeffreyRegistre If you are saying Jesus The Christ, "The physical manifestation of God" did not live to heal and die on the cross for us you have yet to know God. You, like most accusers of the bible do is take texts out of context. I know for fact that Jesus died on the cross for us. It is something God decided to show me. God gives you free will to follow him. You can choose to believe what you like but I tell you this, I know for a FACT Jesus was crucified. Learn of HIM before you decide.
@PuertoRicanTakeOva>So God the Father [god #1] sent His Son [god #2] to earth. We killed him. And that made God #1 so happy that He forgave us some sins we didn't do, Adam did. Right?
@gregrutz Jesus suffered for every sin ever committed/will be committed. He was sinless/perfect and the old testament has hundreds of commands we are unable to go our entire life w/o breaking so basically God demanded perfection in order to be worthy. Jesus was worthy enough and so strong in spirit he was the only person to bear the punishment for our sins. And through his death/resurrection we are forgiven bc he was the sacrifice needed to fulfill prophecies of a servant coming to bear our sins
@gregrutz If you are saying that Jesus did not live then suffer on the cross then you are in for a rude awakening and I hope God has mercy on you. Because as Jesus said in Matthew 9:13 to learn what it means to desire mercy and not sacrifice. He comes not for the righteous, but for sinners to repent.
@gregrutz Yes you are right. Lots of men lived and suffered on the cross but only one lived to serve us and heal while in return suffered for it so that we don't have to.
@PuertoRicanTakeOva Do you realize that threatening people who don't believe in the Bible's authority or correctness with things from the Bible has no impact whatsoever?
You're stuck in an endless circular loop of self-professing righteousness.
What happened to people's ability to think straight???
@warren52nz Idk how you interpret other peoples comments, but no one threatened anyone. The bible isn't about threats, it's about promises. You can see that if you read it in it's entirety. There's no circular loop of any kind when you experience it. It's only "self-professing" when you only speak it. When you practice, and live a life of practice is when you truly understand what it means to be stuck in anything. I know for a fact no 1 can say the bible doesnt work w/o practicing it
@PuertoRicanTakeOva " I know for a fact no 1 can say the bible doesnt work w/o practicing it"
Well maybe you should look up what "fact" means in the dictionary because I was religious until I was about 14 and NOTHING that the Bible said about interactions with God worked. Prayer made no difference, God never appeared, no miracles ever happened. One day I realized it was all bullshit and suddenly everything made sense. Why do good people sometimes die young? Bad luck.
@warren52nz Yet for someone who practiced it you do not understand? Theres difference between having communion w/ God & simply being "religious". Jesus Christ CLEARLY showed the pharisees to be example of this. A child can be taken care of by parent & still be deprived of proper emotional nourishment if there is no bond nor understanding on both sides. However since God has created us, its safe to assume he understands us. So when this is realized, its time to truly examine ourselves
@PuertoRicanTakeOva "However since God has created us, its safe to assume he understands us."
That's an assumption so it's not safe to assume at all.
You do realize that all life is related and evolved from a common ancestor don't you? So the biblical creation story is a myth. And that's a proven fact.
@JeffreyRegistre John 8:32 states that Jesus says "You see that I tell you the truth. And the truth shall set you free." If you are actually out for the truth, actually study what Jesus said and meant thoroughly and come to your own conclusion. Jesus was the WORD of God. He was the old testament made flesh.
@PuertoRicanTakeOva ''Jesus was the WORD of God.'' I thought he was the Son of God. Do you people ever listen to yourselves. ''He was the old testament made flesh'' What the hell does that mean? Is Jesus a word or a book?
@gregrutz John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:2 He was with God in the beginning. John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. So with that said, Jesus was the word of God. The bible is the word of God. This does not mean Jesus was a book but Jesus was WHO the book CONSISTED of, which was the Lord's word. This explains how he was able to defeat satan and the pharisees with old testament scripture.
this shows you don't even know what you are talking about for one, cause the old testament was not written after Jesus came, and the prophecies that Jesus would come and die even to the specific way how He would die was written 1500 years before He came, it just was on a scroll, and the scrolls were not put together as the Bible until after Jesus.
all of the 'prophecies' xtianity claims jesus fulfilled weren't prophecies at all. and of all the messianic prophecies, he fulfilled none.
and as for the 'fulfilled prophecies in the ot'? writing about events *after* they happen is called 'news', not 'prophecy'.
and as for hubjub's post... nothing about jesus was written til about 35 years after he 'came and died' so, yeah... psalm 22 wasn't seen as prophetic til after that point, lol
Psalm 22 was not looked at as a prophecy until after Jesus came and died, therefore Jesus, if just a man, would not have fulfilled it. But it starts as,
"Eloi, Eloi, lama sabactheni?" 'My God, My God, why have you fosaken me?'
the exact words jesus said on the cross.
And Psalm 22 describes dislocated bones (Something that happened when you were crucified) and describes counted bones (unbroken bones) like the Lord on the cross. just read it.
@ParasiteS27 what does herderderder mean? anyways, I usually don't respond to trolls. Here is some advice ... never argue with idiots, they will bring you down to their level, and win with experience.
@calebp9503 at this point i'm not even being a troll. You are literally calling yourself an idiot, plz reread what you posted and tell me how you are not calling yourself an idiot.
@HonestMan395 I was actually surprised by what modern physics, astrophysics, and cosmology is pointing towards in regards to the beginning of space-time at this point in time. Now that doesn't mean that we won't have other discoveries in the future, but science is starting to line up very well with what metaphysics has known for a while. Honestly, it really comes down to the idea that there isn't any need to debate these sorts of things since the truth is the truth, and doesn't need any defense.
Also, alma means young maiden of marriageable age, Mary was to marry Joseph but had not known a man or had sex with a man as she says ib the Bible which makes her a virgin! As for jesus knowing he was to fulfill the prophesies yes he knew he was God in the flesh.
I agree stupid, but partically right Nebuchadrezzar did not destroy Tyre, but verse 3 in the KJV and here it is 003: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up. Many Nations and in fact mant nations did!
I know of a prophet that 170 years ago said the earth was 4,555,000,000 years old. This was long before carbon dating etc. Is that specific enough for you. Or how about predicting the Civil War's origin years before it happened. It is easy to prove false religion false, but it is hard to prove true religion false.
I honestly believe that science will continue to support more and more there being a "being" (realizing that God is not a thing) outside of space and time as we continue to learn. If one does believe in God, which would be the creator of all that is. That means that he is absolute truth and everything comes from him, meaning that there cannot truly be a contradiction between faith, science, reason, etc... since they all come from the same place.
@BeatMasterPhil Quote: "I honestly believe that science will continue to support more and more there being a "being" (realizing that God is not a thing) outside of space and time as we continue to learn."
You may believe that, but as science learns more and more about the universe, it is actually travelling totally in the other direction as fewer and fewer scientists believe in any "being", what ever you call him.
@xcapote Actually I'd say it will come to point of almost the exact opposite. Modern physics and cosmology is pointing more and more towards there needing to be a distinct beginning to space and time. If there is a beginning to space and time that means that there is something outside of space and time that must bring it to be. Theories of a multi-verse and such also still lead to a distinct beginning. Of course things could change as we learn more, but it is pointing in that direction right now
@xcapote So one can find either that the universe or multi-verse, etc. is infinite in the past or if it is finite then one can only come to the conclusion that something outside of all space and time brought it into existence. The only thing that one could really fall to then is to conclude that it just popped out of complete nothingness; the most ultimate magic trick of all. This I find to be much more irrational than believing that the universe came from a being outside of space/time.
The inverse is also true that the authors of bible reveal their ignorance in much of what they wrote. Their writings reveal their attempts to understand reality within the limitations of their beliefs about how things function. I've never understood how people can reconcile the bible with its abundant miracles and magical happenings with reality as we know it functions today. There is not a single shred of proof for even one modern miracle occuring in relation to any religion.
One of the signs the bible is not true (as you have correctly pointed out) is there nothing contained in the bible that was beyond the writer's understanding or outside of their belief systems. There are no accurate highly detailed or extremely specific prophecies of modern times, which means these so-called prophecies are not prophecies at all. Wars and rumors of wars, what a joke! Humanity has been fighting the entirity of its known history.
The thing is I dont understand why people devote their time and waste it on worrying about a fairy tale books prophecies...to me i see it like this, you were born on to the world to worry about your present grow into the future and leave your past behind and learn from it, if you werent born around those a.d and b.c times nobody can convince me of any actual proof that god or jesus existed we live in our own paths fuck prophecies and that past just study your history
I believe that what happened with Jesus is the truth. No one can separate me from the love of Jesus. I think you know your scripture well, but because you don't have the Love of Jesus in your heart He can't use you. I pray that one day He will... Also, I think that they were trying to Show the people who Jesus was so that the prophecies could be fulfilled, you knew tht, but yet failed to listen to God's voice. It's the truth. I love you, God Bless you
Paul, if he existed, knowing thier faith would crumble if subjected to free and critical inquiry, tells his followers to avoid philosophy. Colossins 2:8. the bible in numerous places says things like don't suffer a witch to live and don't believe fortune tellers and yet what are prophets but tellers of the future or fortune tellers as well? who gets 2 decide that thier vision actually came from god? so many holes
Jeremiah predicted that despite its fertility and despite the accessibility of its water supply, the land of Edom (today a part of Jordan) would become a barren, uninhabited wasteland (Jeremiah 49:15-20; Ezekiel 25:12-14). His description accurately tells the history of that now bleak region.
Both of these predictions were fulfilled to the letter, the first in 607 B.C. and the second in 70 A.D. God's spokesmen said, further, that the Jews would remain scattered throughout the entire world for many generations, but without becoming assimilated by the peoples or of other nations, and that the Jews would one day return to the land of Palestine to re-establish for a second time their nation (Deuteronomy 29; Isaiah 11:11-13; Jeremiah 25:11; Hosea 3:4-5 and Luke 21:23-24).
The prophet Moses foretold (with some additions by Jeremiah and Jesus) that the ancient Jewish nation would be conquered twice and that the people would be carried off as slaves each time, first by the Babylonians (for a period of 70 years), and then by a fourth world kingdom (which we know as Rome). The second conqueror, Moses said, would take the Jews captive to Egypt in ships, selling them or giving them away as slaves to all parts of the world.
The exact location and construction sequence of Jerusalem's nine suburbs was predicted by Jeremiah about 2600 years ago. He referred to the time of this building project as "the last days," that is, the time period of Israel's second rebirth as a nation in the land of Palestine (Jeremiah 31:38-40). This rebirth became history in 1948, and the construction of the nine suburbs has gone forward precisely in the locations and in the sequence predicted.
The prophet Isaiah foretold that a conqueror named Cyrus would destroy seemingly impregnable Babylon and subdue Egypt along with most of the rest of the known world. This same man, said Isaiah, would decide to let the Jewish exiles in his territory go free without any payment of ransom (Isaiah 44:28; 45:1; and 45:13). Isaiah made this prophecy 150 years before Cyrus was born, 180 years before Cyrus performed any of these feats.and 80 years before the Jews were taken into exile.
Better yet; repent of your sins and believe the Gospel which God commands you to do. God gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him; though he/she dies yet shall they live.
How would Jesus control where he would be born, that he would go to Egypt, to Nazareth; things He had no control over unless He is who He claims to be?
The natural person cannot understand the things of God because they are spiritually appraised; you do fulfill what was prophesied, but that can always change-repent!
Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David. Get your facts straight! Tyre was 1st destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, then 250 years Alexander the Great scraped the rubble left, made a causeway to the Island and totally destroyed them & till this day fishing nets are cast on the Island to dry. Fulfilled to the nth degree exactly as God told His prophet - again get your facts.
The same reason we have census today in our own country, to idall citizens 4 taxation. He wanted to tax the full extent of the Roman Empire because he was providing services for all of these nations which had become vassals to the great power of Rome. Caesar made a decree that the whole inhabited/known world which would be all the known world in the Roman Empire at that time, that they all would be registered literally. This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. That
would have a known census in the year 6 A.D. and they were at 14-year intervals, as history tells us, so 14 years before that, the first census would have been 8 B.C., the second one in 6 AD, 14 years later. The census was made in 8 BC However, there was not compliance with that census apparently in Judah until 2to 4years later. The Jews did not like to pay taxes to Rome and apparently Herod was able to stall it off awhile. Finally in somewhere around 6 to 4 B.C. they were forced to comply. CONT
What all that amounted to was a story told to children to explain why things were the way they were. Why they hated snakes. Why wives had to do what their husbands said and why everyone had to work so hard till they died. It isn't even actually a prophecy, because there's no prophet. BUT, if you want to say it is a prophecy then what it says is: 1. That people will always hate snakes and snakes hate people. (fail) 2. That women will always be slaves to their husbands and have
CHILLIMAN,THIS IS WHAT YOU SAID... That people will always hate snakes and snakes hate people. (fail) 2. That women will always be slaves to their husbands and have
Jesus was not a rabbi. he was not involved with religion one single bit. if he were to be then the high priests would have never called to crucify him. he came here to free us from sin and RELIGION. and by religion i dont mean in the sense of worshipping god but to free us from the protocol and blasphemes of the church. which unfortunately still happens.
chiliboy,i can give you all the prophecys, whats the point?are u gonna believe me?if i show u ur still gonna be barking woof, woof.what the challenge again,i lost ur comment somewhere here.
@stupidvid Of course I won't believe you; you provide no evidence. It's not that you provide poor evidence, you provide none at all. Mostly you don't even provide actual prophecy to dispute.
@chilimaan You just read what I read in my bible, but you have NO CLUE whats it talking about. You see,you just bark, bark, bark and does not bite.I have no clue what your thinking,I'll keep on waiting on this challenge...untill you surrender ok?
@stupidvid I know you have no clue what I'm thinking. Everyone else knows that too. For starters you were to provide evidence of ANY true bible prophecy. So far you've achieved nothing. Now of course IF you could show how any bible prophecy were true you'd have done so. You haven't even made any attempt. I doubt very much you've even simply read the text in context; let alone figured out what any of it meant. Go ahead; read it. And read about your stupid little cult while your at it JW boy.
@stupidvid Learn to spell stupidvid. I'm serious. You said "Rev has been fulfilled in some parts,no all" Did you mean "not all"; instead of changing your mind from some to all? I can really only guess at what great revelations you think you're making to the rest of us.
And, I don't need to "get" any kind of bible. I've got pretty much every kind of bible available to me already. What you need to do is actually read the silly thing.
@stupidvid I'm going to add a little something here. Revelation has had 2,000 years of not being fulfilled. It's a false prophesy. The idiotic pretend fantasy from Genesis you mentioned is a total fail as well. In fact; I challenge you to provide even just 1 demonstrably true prophecy from the Bible.
@stupidvid Because you started out demanding to know of any failed Biblical prophecies. You ended with "WAITING". You were provided with multiple failed prophecies. Now when challenged to provide just one example of a true prophecy you run off with your tail between your legs. The cult you help perpetuate has a rash of utterly failed prophecies to it's credit as well. When is the end of the world going to be now?
I found u.The end will come when u c ur butt crying out for help,HELP,HELP,HELP.WAIT JUST A LIL BIT.I gave u Gene3:15,16 that phrophecys has been fulfilled in part, and the other hasn't happend.and there many I told you.But u keep on bragging, tell me this,u said this,u run off,and bla.u only wanna argue n make a big deal, when ur into seriousness u show it,but NAH,look at other comment they say much about who u r.
@chilimaan Againnnn, you c u dont even know about the genesis prophecys,Im not gonna tell u,no need I know it. BUT it seems that your dont,to me.Show me what it means, come on and then we can jump to another one.I want bible verses that support that.I want to see u show me.You want a challenge u got it,SHOW ME WHAT GENESIS3:15,16 SAY .........
@stupidvid Sure. God (Yahweh Elohim) is mad at the talking snake and Eve because the snake got Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. As punishment the snake is cursed more than livestock or wild animals (3:14) to eat dust and crawl on it's belly it's entire life. 3:15 continues, adding that "enmity" hostility will exist between the descendants of Eve and the descendants of the snake. Going so far as to say "he" will "crush your head, and you will strike his heel."
(continued) Obviously the snake is getting the bad side of this exchange. He goes on in 3:16 to punish Eve also; giving her pain in childbearing and making her essentially a slave to her husband. Her husband, Further, in 3:17 Adam is also cursed to hard work for the rest of his life to gain sustenance. In 3:18 he expands the curse even further. The ground will produce thorns and thistles and in 3:19 he ends by stressing how hard he'll work till he dies.
(continued) What all that amounted to was a story told to children to explain why things were the way they were. (fail) 2. That women will always be slaves to their husbands and have...
(continued) painful childbearing. (fail) 3:That men will always eke out a living by farming unproductive hostile land till the day they die. (fail)
Now I've provided context to this non-prophecy. Something even Christians, let alone JW's hate, but here's some more. Eve is named Eve in 3:20 because everyone was going to descend from her. This pinches off the absurd claim that Jesus was being referred to because he had no earthly father. That's IF you didn't notice that the "prophecy"...
(continued) refers specifically to descendants of "the woman" Eve. Not some future "a woman".
I've spent more time studying just Genesis than you've probably spent on the whole bible. Judging from your writing, I've probably spent more time on Genesis than you have on everything combined.
The very fact that you're a JW demonstrates your utter lack of regard for the truth, or a near total lack of ability to investigate anything.
@chilimaan your reading it as literal,n its not literal.Your the one that has no clue what is talking about, but since u dont know I'll tell you.LETS SEE WHICH ONES SOUNDS MORE LOGIC.The snake is represented as satan and the woman is Gods kingdom.Your seed(satans visible organization, demons, followers, political, and false religions)and his seed(Jesus followers, his visible organization on earth, and his kingdom in heaven). He(Jesus)will brusie you in the head, meanig will destroy you eternal -continue
@chilimaan jesus will destroy satan in the future.and satan brusied Jesus in the heel when satans visible organization false religion sent him a temporary death. Now this is literal when you crush a serpants head, its destroyed forever right? But when a snakes brusies you on the heel the pain is temporary right?Thats what this scripture means in symbolic and has happend in part.Jesus was put to death temporary(brusing in the heel) but in the future or armaggedon Jesus will destroy satan.
@chilimaan theres your challange,I mean your answer. You gave me no answer to what so ever. You have no clue about the bible.Perhaps u should get a bible study from A JW,I mean i was just like u,didn't know a thing.and look now I know more than a guy,I mean cuz Im a gir.and I recommend u checking out my video in my channel.I got a video that talks about Genesis3:15 GO!!!
@stupidvid Thanks for actually making an argument of some sort. As you should have gathered from the beginning, and as any person who actually read what I wrote would have gathered, I not only knew all about the fraud you're claiming from the get-go; if I hadn't, a simple Google search would have given me all I needed to know.
It would also give you all you need to know. The text IS literal. In order for you to make your claim you have to literally fantasize what the text simply doesnt say.
(continued) I've had JW's in my own home pushing this drivel at me long long before you came along; probably before you ever heard of it.
This isn't even a prophecy; let alone an accurate one. The text simply does not say what you want it to. What it does say is not a prophecy. It's not delivered to anyone. No prophet makes the prophecy. And if you go ahead and pretend it's a prophecy, then it's a total and abject failure.
@chilimaan thias is what you said,u have no clue of so ever.why would you want a phrophet to say this prophecy when its God telling satan because of what he did in garden of eden.Satan is not a snake,he is a real spirit person.your comments up there say clearly that thats why kids where going to be scared of smakes?u have no idea and i know ur confused and u have not read your bible from start to end,we do every year.it takes us 1 year to finish it.theres other verses that speak of the woman.
@stupidvid The text does not say "Satan", JW. It says snake/serpent. It doesn't mention Jesus or any messiah no matter how obliquely. The "prophecy" exists only in your mind. It is obvious from your comments that you can't even understand what I wrote, let alone what the biblical text says.
You have never read the bible. You are not functionally literate. You cannot understand basic modern English. You have never "understood" anything other than what your cult leader told you.
@chilimaan Actually through out the bible satan is called that serpent or dragon. It was indeed satan in the garden of eden that seduced eve.Id suggest a strongs concordance along with your bible as you study and read my friend
@irishenforcer@irishenforcer Strongs number 5175: nachash, serpent. Pretending that it means Satan doesn't make it mean Satan. Strongs number 7853: Satan, adversary, accuser. Pretending that it means serpent doesn't make it mean serpent. The problem you have is that the text tells one story and you want it to tell another. Thus you fantasize that whatever it actually says really means what you'd like it to say. That doesn't change the fact that it simply doesn't say what you want.
@chilimaan It also means enchanter, upright standing shining being. So what are you trying to say here? That a talking snake decieved eve? Actually it was satan that seduced eve.It had nothing to do with fruit or actual trees. That is the myth that is told to judean christian churches today.I have no problems at all.It is you that seems to have a problem.Just because you want one story told does not change the fact that it is not at all as you believe.
@irishenforcer You are absolutely wrong. Nachash has no such meaning. Satan has no such meaning. What I'm claiming is that the STORY is that "the woman" (not yet named) is convinced by a talking snake. The snake doesn't deceive her at all. It certainly doesn't "seduce" her. We are in fundamental agreement that the story is false; but you'd like to claim that it accurately says something that simply isn't in the text. (continued)
If we can claim the text reports a story other than the one which is written there is no reason to hold ourselves to any standard at all. Words may have any meaning we choose or none whatsoever. You've chosen to make the claim that certain words have certain meanings. You admonished me to use Strong's when I'm reading. I answered you by specifically citing Strong's references. Your claims aren't backed up EVEN BY THE AUTHORITY YOU CITED in your claim! (continued)
Now what is your deal irishenforcer? You show up acting like some kind of authority who'd like to gently set me straight on my error but you don't seem to have a clue what you're talking about. The authority you reference doesn't back you up and your claims rest on nothing but their base assertions.
"Actually it was satan" Really? How's that? What's your backing?
@chilimaan not at all.The root word of nachash is to enchant or prognosticate.a few learned scholars say that its original meaning was indeed upright shining being or creature but of course you know better? We are told he is the most subtle creature of all which implies intelligence in a crafty or manipulative way.Sorry if you feel this is all a myth or not real but of course you are entitled to your opinion.WE can agree to disagree leave it at i should have made it clearer bout references.
@irishenforcer "a few learned scholars say" Really? You seem again to be without reference. Here, I'll help you out. Strong's 5172 and 5173 are the words you want the text to be. Which makes the story text mean: (possibly) (altered KJV) "the enchanter was more subtil" The first obvious problem with this is that the words you'd like to be in the text JUST AREN'T THERE. Strong's has different numbers for them because they are different words than the ones written in the text. (continued)
We'll keep coming back, over and over again to the simple fact that the text just does not say what you'd like. You mocked "but of course you know better?" Yes. I do. The "learned scholars" you mentioned are speculating about what the story might have been once upon a time. We're talking about what the text actually reads as we have it. It actually reads "snake". Why not use the reading you'd like? Because that's not what it says. Not in any way shape or form. (continued)
If we can change the text to what we'd like then we'd only be pretending to have some rule for how to change it. There is for instance no more reason to choose 5172 over 5174. Of course none of these ideas gets you any closer to your original claim that this passage refers to Satan; which it doesn't; and which the "learned scholars" you mentioned don't contend. Now as to "subtle"... (continued)
The "subtle" is arum, Strong's 6175 which most commonly means sensible, prudent. Arom, Strong's 6191 which more strongly implies trickery to some extent and is what you'd like the word to be; but again, it's not that word, or any other you'd like.
Not only is this all a myth; what you're saying is a myth about that myth.
@stupidvid The JW religion is probably one of the most flawed, you do realise that your initial prophet and church founder predicted the end of the world and second coming of christ on numerous occasions and it never happened! This is the guy getting "direct word from god" and he stuffed up the dates, cmon open your eyes and release yourself from the fear these guys instill in you.Atleast research the true origins of your religion before diving in head first.Demand your questions are answered
@stupidvid I really fail to see how you can think you are holding up to this challenge, you still have not referred to any hard facts to back up your claims.
chilimaan A buffoon? You must be a Leper! Have you ever heard of the Gread Dreadful Day of the Lord? Valley of Decision? The Day Of Sacrifice? He will be seen in Israel when America, Great Britain, Canada, and Arabia besiege Israel! You must be an Amorite! lol
@jamjr1972 Okay. So according to the scripture of jamjr1972...
Thus sayeth the Lord! America, Great Britain, Canada, and Arabia shall besiege Israel and Jesus on a cloud shall be seen there by chilimaan the leprous Amorite from his home in the U.S.A.
Do you understand that the U.S.A. by itself could utterly destroy the entire middle east region, Israel included in less than half an hour? Do you understand what a siege is? And when is all this supposed to happen? Next Tuesday?
@jamjr1972 Jesus is not going to come again,we are not going to see him literally, but by the things he will be doing like(killing) or destroying which ever sounds better,we will know that it is him doing it.
@jamjr1972 I must be honest, and you must be unobservant. Both Amos and Zechariah are abject failures as prophets. You also made a prophecy; that I would see Jesus "on a cloud". So tell, oh prophet of the tradition of Amos and Zechariah; when will this already failed prophecy come to pass? A week from next Tuesday? By the way; why not use the 'reply' button to make your posts so you don't look so much like an utter buffoon.
@chilimaan You heard about the Jewish Mandate? Amos 7:17 and Zechariah 1:16. Israel divided by line. Zechariah 1:18-19 the four horns that scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem: America, Great Britian, Canada, and Arabia. ( check the slave trade of each) Zephaniah 2:4 Gaza shall be forsaken. Why no help for Gaza? Amos 1:6 because they carried away captives to deliver them up to Edom. Because Israelites broken the Covenant with God my people are living out this curse still today!
@jamjr1972 Alright. Let's start with Amos. Amos is an excellent example of a false prophet. Rather than fantasize that he was talking about a time three thousand years in the future, you need to realize he was talking to Amaziah, the high priest at the time. He was delivering prophecies to the Israel of that day, and; (read chapter nine) he failed utterly. And that's if you accept that he really existed at the time!
@chilimaan Let's continue with Zechariah. Zechariah is, again speaking to the immediate future of Israel and again; his prophecy is an abject failure. He speaks to the Israelites captured by or in danger from Babylon. Neither one of these clowns has any clue that what remains of Israel will be dominated by the Greeks and utterly destroyed by the Romans and neither one is for one instant speaking of modern times!
Now, what about those "coming on a cloud" prophecies you were so hot on before?
@chiliman Jesus has not yet come the second time! if you know the bible i can share a couple of prophecies to share! Do you have a bible and know how to use it?
@jamjr1972 Please; share. And, since you didn't notice; we're online; we have every bible in use available to us. We have commentaries, we have lexicons. We can look up the Greek and Hebrew texts.
@chilimaan When you see Jesus come on a cloud.........which you will, tell him he ain't real, and tell yourself; it's just a dream.....it's just a dream!lol The problem is you are sleep right now, or maybe you are just one of the people that wasn't meant to make it! The question you should ask yourself.....would i recognize a prophecy when i see one?
@jamjr1972 Would you care to specifically reference one of the failed "come in the clouds" prophecies to discuss; or just continue to spew drivel? There's nearly two thousand years between the first people who were told they'd see it happen and ourselves and the prophecy proved false when they died. Do you even know what you're saying?
@chilimaan you must be talking about the Jewish people pretending to be the result of prophecy. if you was to see Jesus coming on the clouds.......what that be inserted after the fact? Just say you don't believe! lol wouldn't that be easier?
@jamjr1972 Lots of things would be easier. So? Do you see Jesus coming on the clouds? Do you understand that that is one of the failed prophecies? Do you understand that it never happened? Do you understand it was predicted to happen. Do you understand the difference between past, present and future?
@SkepticalStudent what about Genesis 15:13-16, Deuteronomy 28:41-68, Joel 3, (JEWISH MANDATE? land divided by line. Amos 7:16-17) these are things we know to be true!
@jamjr1972 "What about..." Well what about them? Firstly, at least for Gen 15:13-16 there's no sign outside the bible any of that occurred. But let's grant it for the argument anyway. You can't demonstrate that these prophecies; even if you accept the historicity of the events weren't written after the fact. The fact that false prophecies exist in the bible not only demonstrates it's human origin, but indicates the "accurate" prophecies are probably inserted after the fact.
It would go against to why he sent his son in the first place, because the children of Israel were playing the harlot and have provoked him to jealousy. Read where he says he is married to them and theres more. I hope this help you to look further. Your on the right track to getting saved. keep up the good work
Jesus was and is the word made flesh John 1:14. Psalms 40:7, That would explain why he knew what to do and able to fulfill prophecy, better than anyone else. bethuwlah, which means a virgin in every sense of the word. Almah still means damsel, maid, virgin. All three still adds up to “young woman.” Almah has been used in proverbs 19-20, there was more words which describes this Almah as a fornicator. The Lord would not use a fornicating Almah, to bring forth his son.
You realize that your argument about Ezekiel's failed prophecy is invalid? Ezekiel clearly states that "[God] will bring up many nations against [Tyre]." Not just Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon. Which indicates that the city would need to be rebuilt after it was destroyed several times. Just saying...
It cracks me up when Christians claim that Jesus fulfilled Old Testament prophesy. Like the authors of the New Testament had no idea of what the Old Testament said and were unable to write in order to "fulfill" said prophesies.. Christians are full of their own beliefs but cannot see how convoluted their beliefs really are.
It's a mistake to be too specific in a prophecy because prophecies are myths.
However there is at least one group of nutters who have made this mistake. They say the Rapture is going to occur on May 21st, 2011 and those who aren't "saved" will burn in Hell. You can Google it just by searching for May 21st 2011.
I just LOVE it when they get specific. Then you know EXACTLY when to start laughing at them. I'll make the popcorn..... :-)
Uhhh... You know that there where Prophecies that Jesus had NO control over(like where He was born)? You do realize the probability of ONE MAN fulfilling every single Prophecy is incalculably low, right? And you must no that Jesus was only referred to as "Teacher" by some of His followers, and in essence, He was one, but he was not an official "Teacher of Mosaic Law", just Someone with immense knowledge of the Word. I'll confront the rest later, I'm too tired now...
I can also add that according to jewish doctrine, later christian doctrine, jesus was suppose to reign as the king of israel. When that didn't occur and he was crucified, they add to rationalize away an excuse why this didn't happen.
I really believe the bible because it prophesied that things like this will come.
If the prophesies were written so clearly then there will be nothing special in discovering them. Prophecies were written like riddles so that not all will be able to understand it. A riddle doesn't make sense if it is so easy.
@stupidvid I'm guessing at what point you think you're making. You think all bible prophecies have been fulfilled? And you want some example of one that hasn't? When do you think Revelation happened?
Now here's a prophecy about believers in Jesus. John 14:12
Can believers walk on water? Raise the dead? Heal the sick? Guess what card I'm holding up? Of course not. So; you have some response?
@chilimaan Rev has been fulfilled in some parts,no all.The first bible prophecy is in Genesis3:15 part of it has been fulfilled and other not of course your not going to understand it,cuz you dont know what its talking about,do you?
@buddcinder Actually I love the condescending: "You just don't understand" tripe peddled by guys like stupidvid. I spent two years studying the first half of Genesis. I doubt he's spent two years on the whole bible.
@chilimaan I said SOME open eyes! I said it hasin some parts, like Gods kingdom,(the women)has been born n its ruling now.The beast(political system)has not been destroyed, that hasn't been fuflfilled,Paradise earth has not been fullfield,Satan destroyed, has not happend,Babylon the great(religions)have not been destroyed, aramgeddon has not come yet,the tribulation has not happend.what else do u wanna know?
@chilimaan Of course not.Jesus was the only one that raised the dead and after his death he left the disciples in charge, but after all the disciples died,no one had and has that privilage to do it.That verse John is not talking about all the miracles jesus did,the works(preaching about the good news) would be greater than what he did.
@stupidvid You should probably actually read the chapter in question rather than just spout out the most common apologetic fantasy. There's no sign of what you're talking about. The passage is unquestionably referring to the remarkable things Jesus had done which aught to have convinced Philip and the others of Jesus' authenticity. (John 14:11)

did you know that horoscopes are actually not that helpful as the estimates i should call them actually apply to about 1 in 1billion unless you actually believe in them then you manipulate the way you think so they end up happening. i know as everyone in my school tried it for a whole month.
I have my problems with the authenticity (or lack thereof) of christianity but nowhere does it say that jesus was a rabbi. In fact he supposedly told his followers do not call any man 'father' which is rabbi, rabboni for father or leader.
ISAIAH 53,11After he has suffered,he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors.

PuertoRicanTakeOva 5 months ago

PuertoRicanTakeOva 4 months ago
@PuertoRicanTakeOva morality? from the bible? wisdom? from the bible? the book that tells people to stone women for adultery? the one that says stone children for disobedience? the fact that ur cherry picking from this means u recognize it isn't a good book to get examples from.. and it doesn't seem like you care if this is true or not, just want to have faith in fairy tales(actually, fairy tells have good endings, bible doesn't).
JeffreyRegistre 4 months ago

Right?
gregrutz 4 months ago
@gregrutz Jesus suffered for every sin ever committed/will be committed. He was sinless/perfect and the old testament has hundreds of commands we are unable to go our entire life w/o breaking so basically God demanded perfection in order to be worthy. Jesus was worthy enough and so strong in spirit he was the only person to bear the punishment for our sins. And through his death/resurrection we are forgiven bc he was the sacrifice needed to fulfill prophecies of a servant coming to bear our sins
PuertoRicanTakeOva 4 months ago
@PuertoRicanTakeOva Thank him for me the next time you hear voices.
gregrutz 4 months ago 2
@gregrutz If you are saying that Jesus did not live then suffer on the cross then you are in for a rude awakening and I hope God has mercy on you. Because as Jesus said in Matthew 9:13 to learn what it means to desire mercy and not sacrifice. He comes not for the righteous, but for sinners to repent.

@PuertoRicanTakeOva Do you realize that threatening people who don't believe in the Bible's authority or correctness with things from the Bible has no impact whatsoever?
You're stuck in an endless circular loop of self-professing righteousness.
What happened to people's ability to think straight???
warren52nz 3 months ago
@warren52nz Idk how you interpret other peoples comments, but no one threatened anyone. The bible isn't about threats, it's about promises. You can see that if you read it in it's entirety. There's no circular loop of any kind when you experience it. It's only "self-professing" when you only speak it. When you practice, and live a life of practice is when you truly understand what it means to be stuck in anything. I know for a fact no 1 can say the bible doesnt work w/o practicing it
PuertoRicanTakeOva 3 months ago
@PuertoRicanTakeOva " I know for a fact no 1 can say the bible doesnt work w/o practicing it"
Well maybe you should look up what "fact" means in the dictionary because I was religious until I was about 14 and NOTHING that the Bible said about interactions with God worked. Prayer made no difference, God never appeared, no miracles ever happened. One day I realized it was all bullshit and suddenly everything made sense. Why do good people sometimes die young? Bad luck.
Tsunamis? Bad luck.
warren52nz 3 months ago

And that's a proven fact.

warren52nz 3 months ago
@JeffreyRegistre John 8:32 states that Jesus says "You see that I tell you the truth. And the truth shall set you free." If you are actually out for the truth, actually study what Jesus said and meant thoroughly and come to your own conclusion. Jesus was the WORD of God. He was the old testament made flesh.
PuertoRicanTakeOva 4 months ago
@PuertoRicanTakeOva ''Jesus was the WORD of God.'' I thought he was the Son of God. Do you people ever listen to yourselves. ''He was the old testament made flesh'' What the hell does that mean? Is Jesus a word or a book?
gregrutz 4 months ago
@gregrutz John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:2 He was with God in the beginning. John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. So with that said, Jesus was the word of God. The bible is the word of God. This does not mean Jesus was a book but Jesus was WHO the book CONSISTED of, which was the Lord's word. This explains how he was able to defeat satan and the pharisees with old testament scripture.

The Miracles of Jesus
According to the Qur’an, Jesus, on whom be peace, performed the following miracles by Allah’s leave:
1. Spoke while he was only a baby.
2. Healed those born blind.
3. Healed the lepers.
4. Revived the dead.
5. Breathed life into a bird made of clay.
zakaslam1 7 months ago
this shows you don't even know what you are talking about for one, cause the old testament was not written after Jesus came, and the prophecies that Jesus would come and die even to the specific way how He would die was written 1500 years before He came, it just was on a scroll, and the scrolls were not put together as the Bible until after Jesus.
Megiddoable 9 months ago
did you know...
all of the 'prophecies' xtianity claims jesus fulfilled weren't prophecies at all. and of all the messianic prophecies, he fulfilled none.
and as for the 'fulfilled prophecies in the ot'? writing about events *after* they happen is called 'news', not 'prophecy'.
and as for hubjub's post... nothing about jesus was written til about 35 years after he 'came and died' so, yeah... psalm 22 wasn't seen as prophetic til after that point, lol
GodsArePeopleToo 9 months ago
I really liked this video,
But there is one problem.

BeatMasterPhil 1 year ago
@BeatMasterPhil Quote: "I honestly believe that science will continue to support more and more there being a "being" (realizing that God is not a thing) outside of space and time as we continue to learn."
You may believe that, but as science learns more and more about the universe, it is actually travelling totally in the other direction as fewer and fewer scientists believe in any "being", what ever you call him.
HonestMan395 11 months ago
As Hitchens has correctly pointed out, the more that scientists understand, the smaller the role assigned to a god or gods is.
xcapote 1 year ago
@xcapote Actually I'd say it will come to point of almost the exact opposite. Modern physics and cosmology is pointing more and more towards there needing to be a distinct beginning to space and time. If there is a beginning to space and time that means that there is something outside of space and time that must bring it to be. Theories of a multi-verse and such also still lead to a distinct beginning. Of course things could change as we learn more, but it is pointing in that direction right now
BeatMasterPhil 1 year ago

There is not a single shred of proof for even one modern miracle occuring in relation to any religion.
xcapote 1 year ago

Elmarias777 1 year ago
Both of these predictions were fulfilled to the letter, the first in 607 B.C. and the second in 70 A.D. God's spokesmen said, further, that the Jews would remain scattered throughout the entire world for many generations, but without becoming assimilated by the peoples or of other nations, and that the Jews would one day return to the land of Palestine to re-establish for a second time their nation (Deuteronomy 29; Isaiah 11:11-13; Jeremiah 25:11; Hosea 3:4-5 and Luke 21:23-24).
Elmarias777 1 year ago

CONT

And, I don't need to "get" any kind of bible. I've got pretty much every kind of bible available to me already. What you need to do is actually read the silly thing.
chilimaan 1 year ago
@stupidvid I'm going to add a little something here. Revelation has had 2,000 years of not being fulfilled. It's a false prophesy. The idiotic pretend fantasy from Genesis you mentioned is a total fail as well. In fact; I challenge you to provide even just 1 demonstrably true prophecy from the Bible.

stupidvid 1 year ago
@stupidvid Sure. God (Yahweh Elohim) is mad at the talking snake and Eve because the snake got Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. As punishment the snake is cursed more than livestock or wild animals (3:14) to eat dust and crawl on it's belly it's entire life. 3:15 continues, adding that "enmity" hostility will exist between the descendants of Eve and the descendants of the snake. Going so far as to say "he" will "crush your head, and you will strike his heel."
chilimaan 1 year ago
(continued) Obviously the snake is getting the bad side of this exchange. He goes on in 3:16 to punish Eve also; giving her pain in childbearing and making her essentially a slave to her husband. Her husband, Further, in 3:17 Adam is also cursed to hard work for the rest of his life to gain sustenance. In 3:18 he expands the curse even further. The ground will produce thorns and thistles and in 3:19 he ends by stressing how hard he'll work till he dies.

(continued) What all that amounted to was a story told to children to explain why things were the way they were. Why they hated snakes.
That's IF you didn't notice that the "prophecy"...
chilimaan 1 year ago
(continued) refers specifically to descendants of "the woman" Eve. Not some future "a woman".
I've spent more time studying just Genesis than you've probably spent on the whole bible. Judging from your writing, I've probably spent more time on Genesis than you have on everything combined.
The very fact that you're a JW demonstrates your utter lack of regard for the truth, or a near total lack of ability to investigate anything.
So come on and drool out some more drivel.
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan your reading it as literal,n its not literal.Your the one that has no clue what is talking about, but since u dont know I'll tell you.LETS SEE WHICH ONES SOUNDS MORE LOGIC.The snake is represented as satan and the woman is Gods kingdom.Your seed(satans visible organization, demons, followers, political, and false religions)and his seed(Jesus followers, his visible organization on earth, and his kingdom in heaven). He(Jesus)will brusie you in the head, meanig will destroy you eternal -continue
stupidvid 1 year ago
@chilimaan jesus will destroy satan in the future.and satan brusied Jesus in the heel when satans visible organization false religion sent him a temporary death. Now this is literal when you crush a serpants head, its destroyed forever right? But when a snakes brusies you on the heel the pain is temporary right?Thats what this scripture means in symbolic and has happend in part.Jesus was put to death temporary(brusing in the heel) but in the future or armaggedon Jesus will destroy satan.
stupidvid 1 year ago
@chilimaan theres your challange,I mean your answer. You gave me no answer to what so ever. You have no clue about the bible.Perhaps u should get a bible study from A JW,I mean i was just like u,didn't know a thing.and look now I know more than a guy,I mean cuz Im a gir.and I recommend u checking out my video in my channel.I got a video that talks about Genesis3:15 GO!!!
stupidvid 1 year ago
@stupidvid Thanks for actually making an argument of some sort. As you should have gathered from the beginning, and as any person who actually read what I wrote would have gathered, I not only knew all about the fraud you're claiming from the get-go; if I hadn't, a simple Google search would have given me all I needed to know.
It would also give you all you need to know. The text IS literal. In order for you to make your claim you have to literally fantasize what the text simply doesnt say.
chilimaan 1 year ago
(continued) I've had JW's in my own home pushing this drivel at me long long before you came along; probably before you ever heard of it.
This isn't even a prophecy; let alone an accurate one. The text simply does not say what you want it to. What it does say is not a prophecy. It's not delivered to anyone. No prophet makes the prophecy. And if you go ahead and pretend it's a prophecy, then it's a total and abject failure.
Sorry to assume you were a guy.
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan thias is what you said,u have no clue of so ever.why would you want a phrophet to say this prophecy when its God telling satan because of what he did in garden of eden.Satan is not a snake,he is a real spirit person.your comments up there say clearly that thats why kids where going to be scared of smakes?u have no idea and i know ur confused and u have not read your bible from start to end,we do every year.it takes us 1 year to finish it.theres other verses that speak of the woman.
stupidvid 1 year ago
@stupidvid The text does not say "Satan", JW. It says snake/serpent. It doesn't mention Jesus or any messiah no matter how obliquely. The "prophecy" exists only in your mind. It is obvious from your comments that you can't even understand what I wrote, let alone what the biblical text says.
You have never read the bible. You are not functionally literate. You cannot understand basic modern English. You have never "understood" anything other than what your cult leader told you.
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan Actually through out the bible satan is called that serpent or dragon. It was indeed satan in the garden of eden that seduced eve.Id suggest a strongs concordance along with your bible as you study and read my friend
irishenforcer 1 year ago
@irishenforcer @irishenforcer Strongs number 5175: nachash, serpent. That doesn't change the fact that it simply doesn't say what you want.
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan It also means enchanter, upright standing shining being. So what are you trying to say here? That a talking snake decieved eve? Actually it was satan that seduced eve.It had nothing to do with fruit or actual trees. That is the myth that is told to judean christian churches today.I have no problems at all.It is you that seems to have a problem.Just because you want one story told does not change the fact that it is not at all as you believe.
irishenforcer 1 year ago
@irishenforcer You are absolutely wrong. Nachash has no such meaning. Satan has no such meaning. What I'm claiming is that the STORY is that "the woman" (not yet named) is convinced by a talking snake. The snake doesn't deceive her at all. It certainly doesn't "seduce" her. We are in fundamental agreement that the story is false; but you'd like to claim that it accurately says something that simply isn't in the text. (continued)
chilimaan 1 year ago
If we can claim the text reports a story other than the one which is written there is no reason to hold ourselves to any standard at all. Words may have any meaning we choose or none whatsoever. You've chosen to make the claim that certain words have certain meanings. You admonished me to use Strong's when I'm reading. I answered you by specifically citing Strong's references. Your claims aren't backed up EVEN BY THE AUTHORITY YOU CITED in your claim! (continued)
chilimaan 1 year ago
Now what is your deal irishenforcer? You show up acting like some kind of authority who'd like to gently set me straight on my error but you don't seem to have a clue what you're talking about. The authority you reference doesn't back you up and your claims rest on nothing but their base assertions.
"Actually it was satan" Really? How's that? What's your backing?
"it had nothing to do with" How's that work?
"That is a myth" Great! Back it up! Tell us why!
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan not at all.The root word of nachash is to enchant or prognosticate.a few learned scholars say that its original meaning was indeed upright shining being or creature but of course you know better? We are told he is the most subtle creature of all which implies intelligence in a crafty or manipulative way.Sorry if you feel this is all a myth or not real but of course you are entitled to your opinion.WE can agree to disagree leave it at i should have made it clearer bout references.
irishenforcer 1 year ago
@irishenforcer "a few learned scholars say" Really? You seem again to be without reference. Here, I'll help you out. Strong's 5172 and 5173 are the words you want the text to be. Which makes the story text mean: (possibly) (altered KJV) "the enchanter was more subtil" The first obvious problem with this is that the words you'd like to be in the text JUST AREN'T THERE. Strong's has different numbers for them because they are different words than the ones written in the text. (continued)
chilimaan 1 year ago
We'll keep coming back, over and over again to the simple fact that the text just does not say what you'd like. You mocked "but of course you know better?" Yes. I do. The "learned scholars" you mentioned are speculating about what the story might have been once upon a time. We're talking about what the text actually reads as we have it. It actually reads "snake". Why not use the reading you'd like? Because that's not what it says. Not in any way shape or form. (continued)
chilimaan 1 year ago
If we can change the text to what we'd like then we'd only be pretending to have some rule for how to change it. There is for instance no more reason to choose 5172 over 5174. Of course none of these ideas gets you any closer to your original claim that this passage refers to Satan; which it doesn't; and which the "learned scholars" you mentioned don't contend. Now as to "subtle"... (continued)
chilimaan 1 year ago
The "subtle" is arum, Strong's 6175 which most commonly means sensible, prudent. Arom, Strong's 6191 which more strongly implies trickery to some extent and is what you'd like the word to be; but again, it's not that word, or any other you'd like.
Not only is this all a myth; what you're saying is a myth about that myth.

By the way; why not use the 'reply' button to make your posts so you don't look so much like an utter buffoon.
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan You heard about the Jewish Mandate? Amos 7:17 and Zechariah 1:16. Israel divided by line. Zechariah 1:18-19 the four horns that scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem: America, Great Britian, Canada, and Arabia. ( check the slave trade of each) Zephaniah 2:4 Gaza shall be forsaken. Why no help for Gaza? Amos 1:6 because they carried away captives to deliver them up to Edom. Because Israelites broken the Covenant with God my people are living out this curse still today!
jamjr1972 1 year ago
@jamjr1972 Alright. Let's start with Amos. Amos is an excellent example of a false prophet. Rather than fantasize that he was talking about a time three thousand years in the future, you need to realize he was talking to Amaziah, the high priest at the time. He was delivering prophecies to the Israel of that day, and; (read chapter nine) he failed utterly. And that's if you accept that he really existed at the time!
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan Let's continue with Zechariah. Zechariah is, again speaking to the immediate future of Israel and again; his prophecy is an abject failure. He speaks to the Israelites captured by or in danger from Babylon. Neither one of these clowns has any clue that what remains of Israel will be dominated by the Greeks and utterly destroyed by the Romans and neither one is for one instant speaking of modern times!
Now, what about those "coming on a cloud" prophecies you were so hot on before?
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chiliman Jesus has not yet come the second time! if you know the bible i can share a couple of prophecies to share! Do you have a bible and know how to use it?

@jamjr1972 Please; share. And, since you didn't notice; we're online; we have every bible in use available to us. We have commentaries, we have lexicons. We can look up the Greek and Hebrew texts.
Do you know how to "use" your bible?
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan When you see Jesus come on a cloud.........which you will, tell him he ain't real, and tell yourself; it's just a dream.....it's just a dream!lol The problem is you are sleep right now, or maybe you are just one of the people that wasn't meant to make it! The question you should ask yourself.....would i recognize a prophecy when i see one?
jamjr1972 1 year ago
@jamjr1972 Would you care to specifically reference one of the failed "come in the clouds" prophecies to discuss; or just continue to spew drivel? There's nearly two thousand years between the first people who were told they'd see it happen and ourselves and the prophecy proved false when they died. Do you even know what you're saying?
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan you must be talking about the Jewish people pretending to be the result of prophecy. if you was to see Jesus coming on the clouds.......what that be inserted after the fact? Just say you don't believe! lol wouldn't that be easier?
jamjr1972 1 year ago
@jamjr1972 Lots of things would be easier. So? Do you see Jesus coming on the clouds? Do you understand that that is one of the failed prophecies? Do you understand that it never happened? Do you understand it was predicted to happen. Do you understand the difference between past, present and future?
chilimaan 1 year ago
@SkepticalStudent what about Genesis 15:13-16, Deuteronomy 28:41-68, Joel 3, (JEWISH MANDATE? land divided by line. Amos 7:16-17) these are things we know to be true!
jamjr1972 1 year ago
@jamjr1972 "What about..." Well what about them? Firstly, at least for Gen 15:13-16 there's no sign outside the bible any of that occurred. But let's grant it for the argument anyway. You can't demonstrate that these prophecies; even if you accept the historicity of the events weren't written after the fact. The fact that false prophecies exist in the bible not only demonstrates it's human origin, but indicates the "accurate" prophecies are probably inserted after the fact.

@alvinvicente Okay. I'll bite. Things like what?

yOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PHROPHECYS,LOOK I'LL SHOW YOU WHY,WHATS THE FIRST BIBLE PROPHECY AND HAS NOT YET BEEN FULLFIELD? WAITING!!!!
stupidvid 1 year ago
@stupidvid I'm guessing at what point you think you're making. You think all bible prophecies have been fulfilled? And you want some example of one that hasn't? When do you think Revelation happened?
Now here's a prophecy about believers in Jesus. John 14:12
Can believers walk on water? Raise the dead? Heal the sick? Guess what card I'm holding up? Of course not. So; you have some response?
chilimaan 1 year ago
@chilimaan Rev has been fulfilled in some parts,no all.The first bible prophecy is in Genesis3:15 part of it has been fulfilled and other not of course your not going to understand it,cuz you dont know what its talking about,do you?
stupidvid 1 year ago
@stupidvid Oh, so Revelation has been fulfilled completely! How newsworthy!
Since you didn't understand the question the first time.
WHEN-WAS-REVELATION-FULFILLED?
As to Gen-3:15. You have heard of Google, right?
Now. When was Joshua 23:5 fulfilled?
How about Exodus 23:27-31?

@chilimaan Using logic against people that don't understand what the word logic means is a very tiring activity. It can be fun but hard on the head.

@buddcinder Actually I love the condescending: "You just don't understand" tripe peddled by guys like stupidvid. I spent two years studying the first half of Genesis. I doubt he's spent two years on the whole bible.

@chilimaan I said SOME open eyes! I said it hasin some parts, like Gods kingdom,(the women)has been born n its ruling now.The beast(political system)has not been destroyed, that hasn't been fuflfilled,Paradise earth has not been fullfield,Satan destroyed, has not happend,Babylon the great(religions)have not been destroyed, aramgeddon has not come yet,the tribulation has not happend.what else do u wanna know?
stupidvid 1 year ago
@chilimaan Of course not.Jesus was the only one that raised the dead and after his death he left the disciples in charge, but after all the disciples died,no one had and has that privilage to do it.That verse John is not talking about all the miracles jesus did,the works(preaching about the good news) would be greater than what he did.
stupidvid 1 year ago
@stupidvid You should probably actually read the chapter in question rather than just spout out the most common apologetic fantasy. There's no sign of what you're talking about. The passage is unquestionably referring to the remarkable things Jesus had done which aught to have convinced Philip and the others of Jesus' authenticity. (John 14:11)

prophecy s suppose 2 warn us, it does not necessarily have 2 come true, d beauty w/ prophecy s that it prepares us n allows us 2 change, hu knows d people of Tyre were forgiven, hence, Nebuchadnezzar never got 2 them.
on d issue of Zechariah 9:9 it contradicts with Daniel 7:13, and d Rabbis 2day believe; if d world s ready he would come like; in Daniel if not he would come like that of Zech. W/c cud mean that moshiach is here but hidden. I share your skepticism. But i'll stay w/ 7 noahide laws

did you know that horoscopes are actually not that helpful as the estimates i should call them actually apply to about 1 in 1billion unless you actually believe in them then you manipulate the way you think so they end up happening. i know as everyone in my school tried it for a whole month.

I have my problems with the authenticity (or lack thereof) of christianity but nowhere does it say that jesus was a rabbi. In fact he supposedly told his followers do not call any man 'father' which is rabbi, rabboni for father or leader.
wanshei 1 year ago
@wanshei Jesus is repeatedly referred to as a rabbi/teacher in the gospels.
