Beautiful...instrumental, song and all.I have a people that no listening to me and make me confuse cause is so insegure...my God!This song is made for my reality of life.
Funky little song this, but you can see why the real traditional ProgRock Genesis fans will have choked on their conflakes when they heard this on the breakfast show for the first time..!
One of their most underrated songs! The horn section from earth wind and fire or EWF, actually played the horns in this song. Great song! Long live Genesis!
Phil took the idea with the costumed sax players for his video to "I missed again", where he played all parts of the band without having a instrument though.. and he told in the dvd to Face Value that the video to "I missed again" only did cost 50 Dollar...
Here we get to see a young and fresh Phil Collins. I very appreciate him (and the other guys of Genesis too) and love his music so much as well as his stuff with Genesis. BTW this here is a real groovy tune or them.
Sure would like to know what the hell happened to the time at 3:20. It's like one of those correctable things that happen on a groove and for the sake of keeping the spirit of the total tune everyone opts out on correcting a little time discrepancy. Now we can make stuff sound TOO perfect, ya'dig?
There's actually nothing at all wrong with the time; Phil plays a synchopated fill there, leading to it sounding a little odd, but it's in perfect time. Tap your foot through it, the "1" comes in right on time in the next measure.
That's fucking sick. And not in the good way, it makes me physically sick. I'm fucking tired of rap being more popular than actual, proper music. And stop remaking songs if you're going to make them suck anyway.
since when is this a virtually unknown song? one of the best from genesis as far as im concerned. and as far as rap goes phil collins did a rap video with bone thugs to his "take me home" song. im not into rap but it was a pretty cool video
i had no idea very many people knew about it, I would of thought that people would be more into using songs like land of confusion or one of genesis other big sell out songs
Phil is one of the best at drums..... se him live.... the bandmembers are having fun with the horns: Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford (Mike And The Mechanics)
Please tell me you're joking... he was always the drummer for Genesis before going solo, and played drums on every solo album he made. He also played drums on the majority of the Tarzan soundtrack, and even played drums with Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iomi for the Queen of England. Look for the video, the song was Paranoid
I dunno if anyone cares but a rapper Classified is topping the candadian music charts with a new single called Anybody Listening from his new album , which samples this song. Check it out to see what real hiphop is
they were capable of playing more difficult pieces but what musician isn't, that misses the point of music, I'm a drummer: collins was great and fantastic songwriter but far from one of the great drummers, and gabriel was always badass. Point is: killer tune, killer songwriters, genesis changed style and you liked the old stuff so shut up
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
What a pile of crap... Bearing the name of Genesis is an insult to their earlier Gabriel work.
Phil Collins is a fantastic vocalist; probably the best drummer rock'n'roll has seen; and his solo work is commendable. But here, he is turning Genesis into his own session musicians - these guys were capable for so much more, yet they settle for this.
i love phil geez, i love when they go up close on him and he smiles or does something goofy, hes a goofball, and i love it, definitely one of my favorite people.
I used to laugh at my friend's mum for fancying Phil Collins.....but dammit that smile at 1.33 after he makes a mistake just made me fall for him a little :)
classified did a great rap song with phil collins in his song and hey phil collins abiously didnt mind or he wouldnt of given classified permission to use his song
Yes there is a canadian with clips of this song in it. I told my 12 yr old when i heard it hey thats genesis/phil collins. Can't they come up with songs that don't have to take pieces from old songs. Classified and Flo Rider to be more exact. Just a shame to destroy a song like this one by adding rap
Well, technically I think they do frequently through many malls and grocery stores. Genesis and Phil Collen is kind of the king of soft contemporary rock. :)
im 13 and i love all music! whwther its rock, pop, rap, classic rock techno, DnB, RnB i love it all! its kinda ironic though theres a canadien rap singer who does a version of this song.... just search Classified - Anybody listening.... its a big rip off of this but its still a good song.
Yeah, it really made an impression on me as a kid how Genesis looked like regular people. Every other band on MTV had big hair and leather pants, but Genesis looked refreshingly normal yet they made this really excellent music.
Genesis were always fantastic pisstakers when it came to music videos. The way they tried to "disguise" themselves in this video as the horn section; the Spitting Image puppets of Land Of Confusion; the wonderful appearance of Benny Hill in Anything She Does; and the satire of televangelism in Jesus He Knows Me.
Yeah, I can watch this now!!! Phil is my boy, if I had any drummer I could wish for to teach me drums it would be phil...that way he could be close to me, close as he can get.
