Just watched this again after a 12 or 15 month interval. The excitement and elation I felt at the time have diminished not one bit. That finish .... it's like a conjuring trick. A fraction of an inch before the line the gals are behind. A fraction of an inch beyond it, and still they're behind. I've tried again and again and STILL can't catch the microsecond when they got their boat's prow in front!! (And I'm so concentrated on doing it, I can, thankfully, tune Peter M out completely.)

That was so awesome. NZ media was writing them off but this proves you can never write off champions. They showed great experience and maturity. This race was on during myy dad's 50th bday celebration. Me and some friends got so excited we announced the win over the microphone.
