  • My Winston (11 year old Springer) has taught himself how to open the fridge...first time ate my carrots, mini cucumbers and a loaf of sourdough bread. Second time skipped the veggies (because they were in the drawer) and ate a loaf of multi grain bread...sigh you have to love them!!

  • @Dreambelievermayabre Awesome, lol. I can't believe ours haven't tried that! They do sneak a bit off the table if noone is around, though.

  • Smart doggie! Springer Spaniels are smart and sneaky, I call them spotty noses, the more spots on their nose, the sneakier and smarter they are. If you take your eyes of your food for one second, they will have it!

  • i love english springer spaniels:) they're so smart:)

  • i love english springer spaniels:) they r so smart:)

  • @1297skittles They can drive you nuts too! Gotta love em!

  • When we had our Springer Ziggy, he learnt how to open doors, lol. Springers are so intelligent (at times ) and are great company :)

  • @NokiaC2Vod "at times"...so true!

  • GO SHELBY GO ATTA Girl. Just like our Gabby & Ashley girls! Our boys Jimbo & James are PRETTY SMART SPRINGERS 2!!! We're in training at Petsmart with the pups!

  • @Clyn447 Awesome! Have a blast with them!!!

  • What other dog then the springer to figure out how to get a ball out of the other ball :) shelbys just gorgeous! I've got 2, Neo and Sadie and there so talented! There also a little bit to smart though...Neo found out the other day how to open the pantry door and get down the dog biscuts :P

  • Yeah, lol, you really gotta watch these guys. We keep food and stuff in locked up containers! Shelby will sit there and watch me fix things...makes me think she'll be fixing clogged drains pretty soon!

  • Smart and beautiful doggie! Rooney is our wonderful gift!

  • Thank you!

  • good girl!

I'm not sure the Springer Spaniel I had as a good would've figure that out, but he was smart for sure :)

  • I think each and every one has their own special skills, lol!

  • what a lovely dog

  • Thank you!

  • Smart, Beautiful dogs. I once had one that could screw the lid off of a plastic food jar!

  • That's awesome! Lol.

  • I Think springares are defanately one of the smartest dogs. except when it comes to laser pointers.LOL

  • Lasers, flashlights, mirror reflections, reflections off their dog tags, it's friggin hilarious! The other one even chases shadows...what a nut!

  • The maker of the puzzle never owned a Springer.

  • LOL! True...true!

  • sad to see them docked...

  • Yeah, but then what would we do without the "springer butt wiggle"?

  • i know

  • ha haaa that is fuunnny mine does it to non stop !

  • Yeah that is a smart dog, and not surprising. I think Springers are on of the most intellignet breeds. Other dogs like German Shepherds are good at learning a lot of commands but Springers seem to possess a bit of true intelligence that they can use for complex problem solving.

  • Agreed!

  • Wow.. that is one smart girl. I have a 6 year old liver coloured Springer. She has the same toy but so far the ball has stayed in the ball. I am not about to let her see this video. :-)

  • Aww, let her see it! She'll probably figure out an even different way to get that ball out!

  • I have a male springer, I got him in 1st grade at 4 moths old...now he is 9 and i cannot believe it. He looks just like urs, except he has some browns spots of fur on his face aswell. (really rare)

  • Wow you hav a tri colour, they are really rare and very beautiful ... i hav a liver&white female springer who is 13 in june and a black&white male springer whos jst turned 11 n they are doin gr8 ... i want a tri coloured 1 so i can say i hav the collection lol, but i wud also luv a white on black springer they are rare aswell ^_^

  • check out the roan tri colored there very rare but so gorgeous

  • wow, i didnt know you could get roan, they sound really pretty, especially blue roan, coz i luv blue roan cocker spaniels ... if u have a picture handy maybe u cud send it to me so i can hav a look ^_^

  • Your Shelby is beautiful! What breeder did you get her from? She is soooooo clever to figure that one out.

    Viktoria from California, Bella's Mom

  • We got her and her sister Dixie from a local private breeder in rural Troy, MO. We were going to get Dixie only, but Shelby played her "take me home too" card and we went home with two springers! :)

  • What a smart dog! And I don't think she needs a grooming. I wish my springer's ears (and my carpet) looked that good.

  • Thanks for the compliment! Yes, our girls like the "natural" look. :^) As for the carpet, I'm surprised it's still in decent shape, especially since our other springer runs around like a wild woman 24/7!

  • i have a english springer too. she looks like a dalmation cuz her spots r weird but she isnt dalmation att all cuz her head i fully black and she has the ears. but she has a really long tail so she looks weird but shes sweet. shes almost 7.

  • Sounds like you have a real sweetie! They do look different with a tail, but that's okay. Just don't have the "springer wiggle" like the stumpy ones do!

  • look like like my springer ,oreo, same fur, color and spots :]

  • what lovely dogs !!

  • Thanks. Looks like you've got a beauty yourself!

  • First of all Shelby is beautiful. But shes a show off and nobody likes a showoff! Second she could use a grooming. Third the other little person appears to be jealous of the attention. I'll give you $7.56 for Shelby. Tank 44

  • Lol, yep, she IS a showoff. On the grooming, we just shave their backs and sides and trim the toes. The other little one, Dixie, is basically a nutjob and runs around like crazy 24/7! She chases shadows all day long...video coming soon! $7.56? SOLD! ;^)

  • Our black and white Ceasar just turned 14. He hates everybody! But he would'nt fool around with this toy. He'd demand his money back. (and growl too).

  • Wow, 14 years...that's great! Glad to hear he stands up for himself.
