Yes - but some songs have nice tunes too. The words aren't always important. Unfortunately the band didn't have much rehearsal time on this piece. The arrangement isn't one of my best, but turning a piano arrangement into a full band score is not a trivial task.
As a songwriter I understand (but do not necessarily agree with) your view about words not
always being impotant (how about the title for a start?) but I really enjoyed this full blooded arrangement of a great melody.

Dis-a-point-ed. 3 minutes of some bloke's waffle at the start them six minutes of poor music.
We'll gather lilacs is a song. ie, music with words.

Thanks for posting this. It was one of my mother's favourites and every time I hear it it brings a tear to my eye.
