  • So these can be grown indoors?

  • My grandparents had planted this plant, they had planted lots of it. So you can imagine when it opened how magnifecent the fragrance would be. We would get up in the wee hours of the night to watch and smell the beauty if this flower. It was fascinating thing to behold. After so many years I can still remember its fragrance

  • so is this one a hybrid or one of the original ones found in the wild jungles of Mexico and South America?

  • This one is a species native to Mexico and the surrounding area.

  • wow, it is so pretty. does anyone know where i can purchase one?

  • You can purchase this online, but to tell you the truth you shouldn't have to pay a lot for it. I find that if you talk around at some of your local greenhouses, there is always someone who has one that probably wouldn't mind giving you a cutting since it grows like a weed.

Other names are: Dutchman's Pipe, Oxy, Tang Hua, etc..

  • GREAT Vid

  • smell nice???

  • Yes it smells really nice when it opens! This one flower actually pervaded the whole fisrt floor of my house with a pleasant scent that is not able to be described, but I can tell you that it was the best aromatherapy that I have had ever!!!

  • Epiphyllums are the greatest !!!!!

  • I agree fully with your comment!

  • You are right!!!!!!

  • Is seeding difficult? I gotta look it up. Nice capture :)

  • Not really, but it is a lot faster and easier to grow from cuttings. ;D

  • after theese flowers bloom, do they die?

  • The flowers only last one night, but the plant lives on to give you more flowers. ;) It is kinda neat to see a flower open up before you at night, but come morning it is gone and withered.

  • It took about 4 hours all said and done. :)

  • omg thats a cool flower i need to get one of those plants

  • how long did it took you to take all those pictures?

  • The flower started to open in the evening and I was taking still pictures at 10 minute intervals. When the flower really started to open up, those are taken at about 1 minute apart. Time involved: approx 4 hours.
