But what was the real disaster was the war debt they were forced to pay it plunged Germany into depression and ultimately led to the rise of Hitler and set the stages of another World war which was more bloodier then the last.

I agree... whatever grudges the "Good guys" had against Germany, it thought it was completely unfair to leave without some say in the process. Germany had every right to make a complaint. First of all , Germany is in the heart of Europe, and if something really bad happens to it, Europe will suffer. This was pretty much the case in 1923 and again in the early 1930s.

It amazes me that they did not modify the Treaty following the economic collapse of 1923...
