steam is an excellent service and their pricing is something that other services should learn from. I have bought multiple games from steam which I have never played simply because they sell them so cheap. This is money they would not have got from me selling it at retail price.

Eventhough I hate spending money Steam makes it SOOO easy to get what I don't want and love every second of it. It's a good plateform because it's sales get people to buy when they typically don't buy and offer sales of 50-75% off and you really don't get those sales anywhere ever. If only more people played PC (like my friends) and if only I had a gaming computer. Damn you college and budget. Hopefully Steam's offline support will get better. After 10:30 my internet dies.

I think that Steam is the best thing that happened to PC gamers in recent years.

As the reviewer mentioned, the service just does everything a player needs. It even updates your GPU drivers... And the sales are amazing.

This service is highly recommended.

Steam is the best thing since sliced bread.

And our games are cheaper than consoles as we buy the data not the disc :) (And steam is free unlike xbox live)

I tried to purchase 2 games (dirt 2 and aliens vs predator) and when i try to checkout it says my address doesnt match when i know it does. It doesn't give me my games but it does charge to my card. Has this happened to anyone else before. I just finished building my rig and this is BS that this is happening to me.

@Jessmo312 Depends on yourself really. Statistics say that nearly 80% of accounts that where hacked, is because a "friend" got ahold of their passwords. "Hackers" in the sense that they steal your accounts are often people you know in RL.

Steam is a pretty solid service and their has not been a breach, not that i would know off atleast. I've been on steam for about six to eight years prolly. Never been hacked because i protect my credentials and account details dearly.

@KJSmallz No, it will be linked to your account. You can sign in to your account on any computer you like and download or redownload the game as many times as you want. This is possible mits you are logged in to the account you bought the game on.

Somewhere along the line i registered the 2 seperately in steam and have 2 accounts my source shite is only on one of them though.

To be fair though I prefer not to use steam cos its crap.

The server browser is a joke and the friends list is a waste of time as I have used msn since before steam.

The rest of it is just ad ware and trying to get you to buy stuff while the steam process is hogging some system resources.

BTW Do you actually remember before steam? It was a hell of a lot better wasn't it when installation requirements for games couldnt change following purchase and you dont need to run adware (steam) to run them.

At least PSN doesn't do that.

@bobbystar101 PSN and Steam are actually quite the same. Both services FOR gamers. Steam isn't a requirement, its a service you can use FOR the game you buy through the steam platform. If you dont like it, then don't buy through steam store but buy games retail through a normal store.

No.

Initial services are free such as the chat, voice and support to games. You are able to add non steam games to your steam account and still be able to use the initial services in-game. It has better support than xfire for all games.

I didn't like shooters either but after playing Crysis for 22 hours it's really got some original aspects such as the boosts like sprint, armor and strength etc it's a fucking great game when you get into it, trust me. Check my profile i've been playing it for 22 hours rofl.
