By the way, why did Denny call the 3-6-9-10 the 'Durbin,' the 'Dreaded Durbin,' etc? Another dig at Durbin being a straight-ball player?

The reason being is that Mike Durbin filmed an average builder in Riverside, California 17 years ago and he taught everyone who hooked the ball how to convert that spare in just one take. From that point on, that spare was called "The Durbin."
