Wow...the ability to re-order song settings is HUGE!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much of a hassle it's been over the years to have to re-program around set changes or to have to jump around through different banks when you change your set order. Now if I can just get a smaller version of this with 8-10 loops built into it with 4-5 preset buttons and 8 or 10 instant access buttons and bank up and down (I have way too many 2 function analog boxes to rack everything).
Hey Ron. Do yu have dimensions for the final product? I'de love to know as I am ordering a flight case for my pedal board and I would like to take into account the possibility to add the mastermind GT!!
@woodshedder The final dimensions are not set, but it should be very close to the prototype: 19"W x 13"D x 3"H. More details will be announced as soon as we have them!
@TheYubaYuba Actually, the final product will not have a touch screen, primarily due to concerns like that. There will be a somewhat larger display there, but because it isn't a touchscreen it can be well protected. There will be a good user interface on board, but there will be PC, Mac, iPhone/iPad and eventually Android editors as well.
Hell I would pay $600 for this dream pedal. also it needs to have options to cancel function of anything. The keyboard I have has a joystick with pitch and mod so it can be difficult to get JUST the mod without overwriting the pitch if you see what I mean. The expression pedals need to be 1 on each side and the mod and pitch wheeIs also need to be one on each side. they both should have the resolution of a pitch wheel because I HATE 128 steps when I'm trying to get the right frequency cutoff
please make something to blow the Roland fc300 out of the water with an expression pedal that moves up and down AND left to right like those zoom guitar pedals. also maybe a pitch wheel like on the moog taurus. screw the lcds just give it automap, partner up with ableton and novation and make it work seamlessly with the apc40, launchpad and the novation 61slmkII and give an option to combine all the controllers in a modular 1 screen view of automap. Also give the pedals velocity and aftertouch.
As a user of midi pedals I prefer the display screen to the left side. For me when changing pre-sets I work on the bases that partch 1 is my datum point (bottom left) and keeping the display screen close to this datum (in my opinion) makes it easier to operate at a glance. Which in most cases as a guitarist most of your concentration should be on your playing.
Maybe its my bad eye sight....LOL.
It looks the ultimate in midi controllers. Lets hope the final finishing colour makes it desirable.
Not sure of your company logo color but most midi / multi effects seem to be in one colour.
Your unit looks desirable because of the individual switch colours but to me the best looking pedals in my opinion are the chrome finish like the Cooltron pedals.
@f2kflyer I agree - this was just a prototype and we didn't have time to paint or anodize the box. Black is the front runner for color right now. It's the most rock'n'roll, right? :)
I think this loks great so far, and i echo headbagger63 that the expand should have 3 rows of 3, and maybe that can link up to another expander of simalar size. I love the idea of been able to asign labels to each switch, and i can't really think of anything else to say to improve it, it looks perfect for what i need, and the touch screen is a great addition, makes it is easy to use. I look forward to buying one, just hope it won't break my wallet too much :(
this thing reminds me of the rock tron all access expect better i think. but hears an idea with the expander have it add about 3 more buttons per a row making 9 more character displays get rid of the top row it has 3 rows total that makes it 18 character displays for the main 9 for the expander i know that seems like much but i've seen some crazy live rigs before. make the display a little bit bigger and make it durable like the TC electronic g system and it will be a bullet proof product
Before doing some comments, I'd like to say that I have a RG16 and I really love it. I could be intereted by your mini effect gizmo, which should be the next Namm video !
So about the Mastermind GT ... It's too big ! I'm not sure the touch screen is necessary. It's really easier to programm using pc/mac.

I think if it was slightly smaller it would be better. The ground control size is perfect for most guitarists.

how do you plan to avoid missing a switch and messing up something on the touch screen? because someone will do that, and it will be me

WOW... editable labels. Talk about pioneering in an overflooded product parket.
You did it again Ron, looks amazing.

Perhaps a dark/matte finish. The shiny metal would not be good in sunlight.

i think it's a little too big, a row less ..( if it's possible)
and i like the touchscreen but I think it's important the device doesn't come te expensive and that it will not break fast
