  • To all of my fellow dreamers who live decently in an indecent world: Keep up the struggle. We've a long way to go.

  • There is no such thing as an illegal immigrant. They are the new immigrants who are not protected by labor laws and they are called illegal to serve this purpose.

  • i wish she would come back to UCLA

  • @hork111, I've read the book, you've read the book,I understand people have different views, but it "appears" you've missed the fact that she stated why through the text itself she chose to date or have relations with these people.

  • In the words of my Mexican friends, pinche rata. Fuckin' rat. Geromino Pratt and Katherine Cleaver both accused her of singing to the FBI. In her autobiography she appeared to be infatuated with white/jewish guys, who comprised the bulk of her boyfriends. A through and through fraud and likely sleeper agent for the FBI.

  • @hork111

wow and your only evidence of this is that she dated white/jewish guys? was she supposed to only date in her race? and be as racist and the jewish mother who didn't want her son to date elaine? would it have been better if she limited herself to to dating in her own community, separated(segregated) from ever by chance falling in love with someone who was not from York Street Philadelphia?

your comment is disappointing because it appears to be born from ignorance

  • @jasmin5592 Well, miz Jasmin. Others have fingered her as an FBI mole. I happen to subscribe to the 'where there's smoke.." theory of life. And then I read her autobiograhy, where she seemed to delight in rehashing the juicy details of her romps with pale people. My common sense tells me she's dodgy. And Jasmin, you're letting this black female bonding thing go to your head. Wake up, the girl was a dirty lying heifer. You're so peeved, you must be in an interracial relationship too.

  • @hork111

i'm reading the autobiography and the mere fact that she talked about sex with white men doesn't seem to directly indicate that she was in the FBI. i've never heard of "where's the smoke..." so it maybe relevant to a point you're trying to make but without elaborating i fail to see how it matters. it's funny that you would attempt to assume anything about about me. especially my race. you dont know who i am and your high handed comment about whats gone to my "head" is absurd.

  • @jasmin5592 Sigh. I guess I have to spell this out. I meant "where there's smoke..." usually an axiom that ends with "there's fire." Got it? I told you high ranking Panthers say she ratted out the movement. A Cointelpro Queen. As for assuming your race, you react fairly strongly when I needled her white boyfriends. It's none of my damn business who you date, but then you, unlike Ms. Brown, are not a public figure selling friends and a movement down the river. A Black Mata Hari, this Brown.

  • @hork111

the point you think you're making is an interesting one, but it just sounds highly opinionated. I dont claim to know whether she was FBI or not, my main argument is that the proof you offer to her involvement just doesnt appear to be strong enough to support your claim.

  • @jasmin5592 Ah, but we're not talking about MY claims. What about Geromino Pratt and Ms. Cleaver's claims that she was a rat. Are you as blithely dismissive of their claims as you were mine? And yes, her dating choices do matter when you're claiming to be some paragon of revolution. I guess when it came to men, White Power trumped Black Power for Elaine Brown. It's nothing new , I see this in Seattle, black women who won't give a black man the time of day. A legacy of MLK? He can stuff it.

  • @hork111

Yes. We were talking about the opinionated claims "you" made on this youtube video, because that is what this conversation consisted of. You are only now, bringing in "Geromino Pratt and Ms. Cleaver" as references, but a few comments ago you said nothing of it. Like I said, I'm dismissing your failed attempt at constructing an argument based on the few, non-validated statements you previously made. I am not dismissing what very well may or may not be true.

  • @jasmin5592 Ok. We're never going to agree. You have your opinion about the matter and I have mine. Let's leave it at that. You'd think at this stage in the game I'd know better than to argue with a woman. Unlike me and most men I know, women are unburdened by the need for logic.

  • @hork111 Hork: The belief that Elaine is corrupt is based in misunderstanding. Clear your beliefs from your mind and really listen to this video in its entirety.

  • @elizabethfaraone I never said she was corrupt. I just find something deficient in someone who grew up in the era purporting to be about struggle then sleeping with the enemy. That's a troubling disconnect. But I shouldn't be surprised, given black people's 500 year history of either beasts of burden or white man's wenches. They should have a new classification for these types, not H. sapiens but H. familiaris. If you know taxonomy you know what I mean.

  • @hork111 I don't know who Elaine is sleeping with but I seriously doubt she is sleeping with someone who contradicts her beliefs. She's too strong for that. I agree with most of Elaine's assessments. She was wrong about Obama's ability to win the election. I was surprised that he won. I don't like Obama and I don't think the US is able to vote in anyone good into power, but they did vote for the lesser of two evils. I guess you don't like the majority of what Elaine is saying in this video.

  • @elizabethfaraone I didn't think Obama could win either. In retrospect I had forgotten two important things. One, Obama wasn't in the Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton mode. Obama was highly-educated, connected, telegenic, no firebrand. And it was his time. Point number two. America remains a socially progressive nation. It gave a half-black man a chance to lead it, something that, given my daily experiences, I never thought would happen. I live in Seattle. White people run from me on a daily basis.

  • @hork111 I've never considered the US very progressive. And I think Obama was elected because he appealed to people with differing beliefs by not being honest. Of course, no politicians in the US are honest when running for office. The "change" strategy has been used for many, many years and it really does work. But it doesn't bring us to a better place. I'm thinking about moving to Chile. Despite the tragedy of 9/11 1973, I like the fact that Allende was voted in.

  • @elizabethfaraone When I say progressive I mean relatively speaking. As much as I rail against this country, for black people it is the promised land. Not progressive? I watch Spanish TV. Just try finding any black people on there. Brazil? A banker friend of mine who' s very dark had problems years ago getting a decent Rio hotel. When you say 'better place', what do you mean? The country lurches along. It's never going to be 'right'. I bet there's some pretty women in Chile. Say hello for me.

  • Respond to this video...Those with African ancestors are treated better in some countries than in the US. Dominica is one example. I measure the success of a country by its lack of tyranny and its ability to take care of its weakest. The common belief of those living in the US is that to live a life that is not corrupt is not possible. I strongly suspect this has to do with the lack of authentic educators and the use of TV for information. To live unethically is encouraged.

  • @elizabethfaraone Come on, please get a grip. We're humans, we're corrupt. I don't mind corruption, long as it's not too bad. Besides, railing against corruption is like cursing the weather. And how do you know that, given the right circumstances, that you won't be corrupt? Stop trying for sainthood and just live with the fact we're all imperfect humans. As for TV, I do enjoy some of it. Americans watch TV. I also read, I'm constantly scouring bookstores.

  • @hork111 It is possible to live with integrity. There have been many who have done so under the most dire of circumstances and there will continue to be. I have lived under, what you call, the "right" circumstances that you believe should inspire corruption since birth and refuse to sleep with corruption. You condemn Elaine because you suspect she was sleeping with the enemy, without having any proof. Your condemnation of her is more a reflection of yourself than her.

  • @elizabethfaraone There's just no hope for you, is there? You're determined to die with an unimpeachable character. Sounds boring. Might well join the rest of us pigs wallowing in the muck of life. As for my comments being a reflection of myself, guilty as charged. I've said enough about Ms. Brown, prefer to live the rest of my life untainted by her noxious rodent smell.

  • @hork111

It's easy to dismiss the fears of other Black Panthers who may have only perpetuated the idea that she was in the FBI for there own personal gain. Petty jealousies and tension in political parties causes people to say all sorts of things. I mean you're first main point was that she's a traitor/FBI agent because she had sex outside of her race. You started off with something ridiculous and now you're argument is just weak and insignificant.

  • i love her

  • Great speech. I met this woman when she spoke at my school. I wish the speech she did at our school was on here, because it was better in my opinion. Hope she comes back.
