  • Wooooooo!

  • That's how you cut a promo and why I always disagree when people say The Rock is the best ever on the mic. He didn't call Steamboat a jabroni or make fun of him, he called him the greatest in the world so when he beat him later that night, what did that make Ric Flair?

  • Swagger

  • In order to be The Man you have to beat The Man !!

  • ...WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

  • @jspeighty

That's why he's got three ex wives ☺

  • Flair/Steamboat: CLASSIC battles. Right up there with Flair/Rhoads and Flair/Harley

  • to be the man u gotta beat the man

    RIC FLAIR

  • Gee, this guy. If only he'd had a bit of flamboyance and some confidence he could have been a success.

  • The Man.......................

  • a classic, classic promo.

  • Only Ric Flair could cut a promo saying 'You're the greatest in the world' and 'You're my bitch!' at the same time. A promo masterclass.

  • You knew back in the day when those wrestlers had the bleached out hair they were bleeders... Gotta see that shit from the cheap seats!

  • Lance Russell is awesome as a commentator!

  • You know that youve been around a long time, when you were old, 20 yrs ago. Gotta love Rick Flair.

  • i am with ya@!!!

  • ric flair is the man ...,how you gonna give the man due respect and still be the man WHOOOO

  • It's hard seeing flair in the present day after seeing this promo so many years ago. Damn seeing flair age makes me feel old.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • "IF a man has enough power he can speak quietly and everyone would listen"

Ric has the power but screw speaking quietly

  • Whooooo!!!! Thank GOD for Ric Flair. I'm the Biggest FLAIR FAN, but, his next great move will be to bow at the feet of GOD! Every Knee will bend in the presence of The Lord GOD, JESUS CHRIST!!!!

  • You can see his eyes constantly dart to the script board on the right of the camera.

  • @Anavengertg He may have had to follow some sort of a guideline but he put his heart and soul into his promos. Guys today dont do that. I watched Zeke Jackson cut a promo the other night and it was like watching paint dry.

  • @SuperDj316 The WWE sucks in general nowadays. It's sad.

  • TO BE THE MAN YOU GOTTA EAT THE FLAN!!!!!!!!!! trust me...most of you won't understand that joke...and if you think you do..you don't...

  • Edge was the last THE MAN, so now in extreme rules it will be Christian vs Alberto Del Rio for the THE MAN championship.

  • wooooooooooooo

  • Okay. Ric Flair versus Chuck Norris... any thoughts?

  • @kodiakfred140 Norris would tap to the figure four. No doubt about it.

  • @VancouverChokers Bruno would have pounded Flair into the ground.

  • @RPenta Bruno would have done what the booker told him to do.

  • @litehouse6 Right; Bruno would have pounded him into the ground.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • This definitely brings back the memories. I really miss Ric Flair.

  • Note to current young TNA/WWE talent: Now this is how you do a legitimate wrestling promo.

  • he must be related to phil davison

  • 5 people tried to be the man

  • When people ask me what is my quote, my philosophy on life.

"Whoo! To be the man, you gotta beat the man Whoo!

  • Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes= the best promo artists of all time

  • I love how excited he is.

  • its ironic that at the beginning of the vid it says hell wrestle for his 5 world title for the last time because he woul go on to win 16 world titles

  • Comment removed

  • @DC322 I'm #5 btw. Also, you're a faggot for making one of these comments, just sayin.

  • Do you have the "Whether you like it or you don't. You gotta love it because it's the best things going today!" promo?

  • He should be a motivational speaker!

  • it sort of does look like he was reading it though his eyes keep going to the left other then that he perfected a script by getting into character for it you don't see that at all today.

  • I think one of his ex-wixes has that robe now.

  • Thanks for upping this.

  • what an awesome promo!!!

which Hollywood script writer wrote this for Flair!?

    what?

o you mean back them there were no scripts or writers?

    ohhhhh...

maybe that's why wrestling used to be so cool, and now it sucks major ass.

  • This promo is so good I want to order a 22 year old PPV.

  • Don't know if anyone posted this is it me or does Ric Flair look like Ben Stiller kinda ? A buffer older version ?

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I'm...the...WOO!

  • WHOOO!!

  • I know nothing about wrestling, but I'm pretty sure Ric Flair got blown every night by a different woman.

  • to be the man, WOOOOOOOOO, you gotta BEAT the MAN!!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • I LIKE TO YELL IN CAPS!! WHOO!!!!!

  • TO BE THE MAN YOU GOT TO BEAT THE MAN

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • Finally time hahahahhaha!!!

  • lmao!I love how the interviewer is all calm when speaking and then he goes over to Ric Flair...BAM!Ric flair just let's loose! XD

  • lmao grown men play fighting

  • @Quadzilla99 Yeah but could you do it? I mean you respect the sport, right?

  • @binka21 I probably couldn't prevent myself from repeatedly bursting into laughter. So no.

  • @Quadzilla99 Well it is meant to be entertaining. But I mean it takes strength, acting ability, and confidence to speak and perform in public. It's like being an athlete and hollywood actor combined. And Ric Flair really did make some big money. That's just my viewpoint.

  • @Quadzilla99 I'd act and "playfight" for millions of dollars too, so what's your point? You wouldn't? Flair was the best at his trade, regardless of your personal opinions of that trade.

  • @Karasuman68 ... Well, in some ways you are wrong. This is art before all, so, there is two part we could judge. How many ticket sell and in ring abilities: for the tickets, he was not the best... Sure, he was and he is still really good at it; but Hogan, Andre the Giant and Mick Foley were often better than him. The other part is in ring: Brett Hart, Jimmy Snuka, Ted DiBiase, Tiger Mask were better than him.

Let say Flair was good in both, and a good flair to select his feud&made it interesting

  • @therrydicule I think that the NWA was much better then Vince Mcmahon's circus show-Ric Flair -Magnum TA-Road Warriors-Nitita Koloff -Dusty Rhodes were all fun to watch-WWE is a disgrace -

  • @curtisjones400 On the other hand, pro-wrestling always been a circus. It started in old carnival where they announced, a bit like that "here our strong men, he say he could beat every coward in this shitty place. Someone want to give him a lesson? I bet $100 than no." -> than it specialized.

Anyway: It like comparing Hustle and UWF in Japan. Some match were good/boring in both cases. Even if one was pure stage and the other one was pure "shoot".

  • @therrydicule true ticket sales and product sales and VHS tapes BUT for longevity and 13 World Championships?WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • @clrncd15 Longevity does not mean much... Andre de Ceasaris take part in 214 formula one grand prix, I don't think he was a great F1 driver...

  • @therrydicule Great point. Possibly imho we have to look at brand management. Flair pi**ed me off on so many occassions that I would swear off wrestling, yet those memories and that chess tournament of the mind in my youth take me to more pure experience.

  • @therrydicule Great point. Is the "Stig" a better driver than Senna or EF? Flair pi**ed me off so many times in my youth that I would swear off wrestling. Suppose we have to look at brand management.

  • @clrncd15 Kayfaybe or real? The Stig is a good gimmick to sell, and it is better than Alain Prost over that... But it is not something new, even in the racing world - "l'inconnue des 1000 piste" was an edition of the Michel Vaillant's series which included a nameless, speechless driver that was fast as hell... Before showing itself as being someone non-expected.

Ben Collin is more versatile than a Fittipaldi or Prost, but he is less specific about the car he drive.

  • W0oo0o0o0o0o0o

  • one word desbribes this greatness

    "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

  • We're talkin' about the WHOO!

  • y does he still wrestle? his muscles look like they r sliding off!

  • @Deeznuwts Because he can! He's older, but still healthy enough to be thrown around and stuff lke that. But honestly, I don't think he does wrestle anymore. Just managing and announcing and stuff like that, as far as I know.

  • why is he hollering?

  • @KidDynamite40 Bcuz he's pumped ready to fight Steamboat.

  • Ric Flair is the fn man , no questions asked , the best in the business bar non . Greast world heavyweight champion of all time . Ric is not only " The Man " by he is also ": The Business " . I met Ric last year , he is a class act . Flair in the past , Flair in the present , and Flair in the future , no matter what deccade or generation Flair was wrestling in , he was the man in any deccade and generation . woooooooooooooooooo !

  • Cocaine is a helluva drug.

  • Wooooooooooooooo!!! All night long, Daddy.

  • the last of his kind was The Rock...after that, we had gay wrestlers making wwe look like a soap opera

  • stands the test of time. SOLID gold.

  • ha 1989 going for the title for the last time... yep sure.

  • flair-greatest of all time! cena-queer!

  • Final time, hmm?

  • hahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  • none greater

  • "the man eh? well ric i hate to say it to you, in case you didn't know being the man is overrated why be the man when you can be like me.... A WRESTLING GOD!" -JBL FTW!!!

  • @hoduken39 Karl Gotch is the wrestling god.

  • Woooooooooooooooo!

  • TNA has 6 dudes hanging with Ric Flair and they still have the charisma of kumquats. Ric Flair is one of a kind. I think wrestlers in general should take notes.

  • Ric Flair makes me want to listen to Foghat and party at Dewey Beach!

  • to be the man you have to move from WWE to TNA

  • his hair is beautiful man

  • Great promo..But he can never match Bret Hart in the ring!

  • yea! that went hard

  • Ric Flair is a god!

  • EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!

  • i remember jay lethal saying tht to ric flair

  • i hear space mountain isn't as disappointing as the ride.

  • lmao pro wrestling.

  • @Booharv1

LMAO pro wrestling haters. "It's fake!" What? It is? OMG no it's not! Are you serious? Oh man I had no idea! /sarcasm On a serious note, movies are fake, much much faker than wrestling, so why do you watch movies? Why do you watch TV shows? Do you make fun of your mom or whoever watches soap operas? Ya thought so.

  • woo

  • to be the Man -you have to BEAT your Meat !!

  • I was there.it was held in nashville tennessee

  • That was amazing. How could anyone be rooting for Ricky Steamboat after that?

  • epic

  • at least back then they made you believe it was real fueds..and that that they were actual athletes who competed to show who was the best or the toughest..now its just too soap opera and we all know its rigged and predictable..and they just dont convince me its worth watchin anymore! bring back the old matches, thats actually worth payin to see again

  • I must have watched this promo like 50 times. Any time i'm feeling blue or need some motivation i watch some of my favorite Ric Flair promos on youtube.

  • @endofsuffering83 He was the man,....man! You can't beat him cause then you'd be the man!! Wrestling nowadays, WWE in particular, is way too scripted. Guys today can't cut a promo to save their lives... Flair, Piper, Warrior, promo artists-- off the cuff, unscripted... best promo cutters in my book. Flair's promos, upon watching, are clinically proven to alleviate any anxiety or depression you may have!!!! =)

  • @PhillyKutsProduction Perfectly said..... Don't forget about Dusty Rhodes, Hogan or The Macho Man

  • @mophreakous No, especially now, I feel so guilty to have excluded Macho Man Randy Savagein my comment. What an incredible talent.

  • @PhillyKutsProduction =( R.I.P. Macho Madness 4 ever....... OOH YEAH!

  • @PhillyKutsProduction oh man warrior was terrible at promos come on..flair,austin and the rock

  • @mmmhedgeymmm lets not forget about the great mic handeler Sid vicious

  • Respond to this video...

  • @PhillyKutsProduction

lol warriro promo artist? you'r putting warrior in the same league as piper and flair?? what are you smoking? zeus can cut a better promo than warrior

  • @PhillyKutsProduction lol how can you even compare modern promos to the loud and cheesy 80's? Watching older promos are funny and entertaining, there's no doubt about that, but I'm willing to bet that if guys like Ric Flair watch old footage of themselves they will probably shield their face in embarrassment and say..."oh god what was I thinking?!"

  • @PhillyKutsProduction Got to throw Savage in that list too. His promos from the 80s are some of the best and you can even find them here on YouTube. Search for Cuppa Coffee.

  • @atmtex83 Agreed, Savage too was a promo artist. The guys of today just don't have the skills in cutting promos like the guys from the 80s and 90s.

  • @PhillyKutsProduction Flair, Piper.............Warrior? I'll agree with the first two, but The Ultimate Warrior was an absolute promo disaster every time he touched a microphone, even a script wouldn't be able to save him.

  • @PhillyKutsProduction

Haha, yeah... I've never really watched wrestling on TV but I enjoy watching these promos on YouTube, these guys were hilarious and great entertainers. Oh and The Warrior was just freakin' scary, I question his sanity. Wouldn't want to be locked in a room with him, totally unstable, but you gotta love it, lol.

  • @PhillyKutsProduction Damn right my man. Their promos came from the heart.... and from the love of wrestling and the love of the art of wrestling not from some piece of paper with a script. Wrestling has lost its art!! Its gone from everything to nothing!! Its a sad day but there will always be the guys like us...the guys who never forget the heart and soul of PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

  • @SuperDj316 My lord, finally !!!, Someone interpreting what I've said on the same wavelength!! The art is gone... Promos -- Raw and Uncut-- Unscripted.. Come Back Please... Be Raw .. Monday Night Raw needs Raw--- So we can live again. Stop worrying about camera shots, angles,-- which really don't amount to anything in the end-- give me unscripted RAW unabridged feeling, Slap My FaCE IF YOU HAVE TO... Let's wake up Let's make our WWE stars of today RAW!!

  • @PhillyKutsProduction

Is it bad if I still refuse to call it "WWE"... Everybody knows that it is WWF.

  • @PhillyKutsProduction wouldnt call the warrior one of the best talkers myself, but then i never understood a word of what he was saying. i think jake roberts is one of if not the best talkers, right up with the likes of flair and piper.

with regards to todays lot, yea, most of them cant talk for squat, though i think CM Punk can be the exception, he's shown some sparkles of genius in his promos unlike the rest of them

  • @PhillyKutsProduction Flair and Piper, definite artists. Replace the Ultimate Warrior with the Million Dollar Man, Mic Foley, or Jerry Lawler, though. As exciting as it was to watch Warrior in the ring, listening to the guy..you need subtitles and an interpreter on some kind of hallucinogen to understand what the hell he's saying..

  • Comment removed

  • @PhillyKutsProduction Amen, a lot of people wouldn't put Warrior on that list...I def don't think he was Flair caliber , but he had mic skill!! It was some "X" factor shit...I don't even watch wrestling on the regular now, but from what I have seen they do need to bring in some talent with mic skill!!

  • @PhillyKutsProduction WARRIOR WAS A PROMO ARTIST!!!??? i couldnt understand anything the dude used to say, he sounded like he was on an acid trip talking about space or whatever else he was saying. very rarely could anyone ever understand what the hell he meant lol

  • @strrb75 Strangely, I understood and was captivated by every word of Warrior spoke.

  • @PhillyKutsProduction that worries me lol

  • @strrb75 Who gives ashit he was awesome

  • @notrollable awesome? REALLY?? he couldnt wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag. in terms of talent he was mediocre at best. he had tons of charisma but that was about it. and him being probably the biggest asshole and most unprofessional talent the wwf ever had didnt help his cause. i mean seriously what match can you name that you can honestly say was a great 5 star match? im not saying you cant like him cuz i was a huge sid fan back wen i was a kid but he wasnt the best tech. wrestler either

  • @notrollable imo jake the snake and roddy piper were to 2 greatest promo men of all time with flair coming in 3rd

  • @PhillyKutsProduction wait wait wait Warrior was a great promo cutter ??? try again

  • @bjjuggalo Oh, his promos were good, they just didn't make sense! The words he used sounded like they made sense...sounded like real words...It sort of has that "I think that was a good promo o.O" reaction to it.

  • @bjjuggalo i just make comment on that he dont knw what he talking about
