  • For those Brits that like to criticize American cars, I have a question for ya...

What has been the top 2 best selling cars in Britain since the 70's? (Here's a hint: they're both Ford's...)

Vauxhall, Opel, etc. usually in the top 5 (GM owned)...

  • @wildbill6976 GM owned but have absolutely nothing to do with America what so ever. European Fords are not the same as American Fords and Vauxhall has no American influence either. I'm not criticising anything, it's just a fact.

  • such an efficient process and such an amazing result. love it!

  • Only thing I would change if I were to own one is the silly window on the hood to see the plastic supercharged logo underneath.

  • what kind of car is that at the end?

  • Idolish just opened some factual verbal whoop-ass on Januaha here haha.

  • AMERICA STRONG!

  • as long as it is "kinda flush" its good to go.... wow.

  • i would kiiillll for a zr1 haha

  • Anybody know how much MAGNESIUM in a ZR-1 ?? Magnesium is 30% lighter than aluminum.

  • @23tbob

So what... waving flags for the technological inovation in the ZR1 because its got magnesium? They used magnesium in the 1955 LeMans too for your info. Its not exactly cutting edge technology that nobody else can do.

  • Its so good to see Americans employed, and to see people genuinley excited about what they are doing and making.......ontop of the engineering, the pride on these peoples faces, and in their hearts is what makes this an amazing car. I'm a Canadian, but seriously america can do anything anyone else can and can take on the world. The ZR1 is so much more than a car, to me atleast it symbolizes american pride.............

    God Bless America

  • "Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter"

  • @Dalit5 i think in dearborn, michigan. saw something about the corvette zo6 on NAT GEO, and I think that assembly plant was in dearborn, so I would think it's the same plant as they showed a zo6 in this video as wel.

  • Corvette's performance is awesome, but I would buy another car because the rear end design is terrible. It's what I refer to is the car has a fat butt.

  • @z2153 I love it, but I can see where others wouldn't.

  • @z2153 that "fat butt" has a ground spoiler that helps keep the rear on the ground. Its one of the reasons the ZR1 can pull over 1G in a turn. (much to the dismay of the europeans)

  • @Sahadi420 There is no question it is the best sports car for the dollar you can get. If only GM would tweak that rear end just a bit I would buy one for sure. I think they could "borrow" the Lamborghini Estoque rear and it would work both in form and function.

  • @z2153 please wash your mouth out with soap for saying the vette should borrow ANYFUCKINGTHING from a Lambo!! You realize how much shit the vette would get for having anything "borrowed" from those OVERPRICED egomobiles?!?!? The big fat ass on that car is fine just the way it is.

  • @z2153 That would destroy the Corvette's image.

  • @cgaurd52 Not really since there have been redesigns of the Corvette from the first ones from the 50's to now. I am hoping GM will redesign the Corvette. I'm okay with the front, I just don't like the rear end. Heck they could go retro, as Ford did on the Mustang and I'd be okay with that also.

  • @z2153 Oh...well okay. I guess it would be pretty cool!

  • @Janusha and well.... Who the hell would want one of those.... JETTA what the hell does that mean Germans have a beautiful Language and what the hell is thsat? and passat? that sounds like something you take in the morning... no Thanks ill take my beautiful American car that i can fix without dismembering the car for thousands of dollars (GERMAN) and keep running for a very long time and have power and comfort combined and be on my way

  • @Janusha and Everyone Leave the Italian cars and companies out of this It's Germany. they are arrogant bastards when it comes to them and American cars When Mercedes partnered with Chrysler Mercedes offered nothing but a few overpriced gas guzzling cars and took everything Chrysler had to offer and sold it to a venture capitalist company It's amazing that we came back after yaall stripped us and left. Germans have yet to provide a good car priced for the average Hard working man besides VW

  • ACR is King!

  • Amazing car!!

please the name of song in the end ;)

  • zr1 has the best performance:price ratio

  • Fuck carly though...

    Something about the face

  • the car at the end of the video...that is one of the fastest muscle cars ever built

  • build me a'' RIGHT HAND DRIVE'' one !!!!!

    you cock sucker !!!!

  • @defqon169 "if you said BUILD ME A RIGHT HAND DRIVE ONE YOU COCKSUCKER!!!!!!! please." then maybe we would.

  • my grandfather owns both a zr1 and a lamborghini Reventon. i have to say the zr1 is faster and handles way better, it will also last longer. thats the issue with exotic cars, they are great while they last but they are shot after 45,000 miles

  • @rrougeye

There are several signs of lies in that short message. Go find another hobby. Lying ro random strangers on the net gets you nowhere.

  • 17 Ford Haters I Kno HaHa

  • very very nice video thank a lot for that

    i own 81,72,69,just love corvette

  • Wow, so much hatred on this topic. ..

  • I'm done with the troll any one else like to poke at him

  • My brother is a race engine builder he drops 7's in the quarter mile 700+Ci breathing smurf gas and methanol in a 64 Chevy II I have contracted an engine for My Astro AWD an LS3 that will drop My VAN into low 9's high 8's and get me 19 MPG IN A VAN daily driver it's a sleeper all QUIET snow tires rust the 4.3 is still strong going to find a tiny shit box to drop that in any suggestions thinking Chevet

  • it took 20 years for VW to make a car as fast (ALMOST) as a vet Veryon did 253MPH the sledgehammer did 254.7 and drove to and from the track making 21+MPG the Veryon wold be luckt to make 9MPG and the rubber is gone in 15 min. at top speed the gas tank empty in 10 the hammer was 400,000 dollars with a factory warranty the Veryon is what 2,000,000 dollars 20 years and still didn't accomplish anything silly germans

  • hahaha again you post pathetic idiot remarks about stuff way above your understanding. yeah.. People are idiots for buying a Veyron. They need to stop every 15 minutes to change wheels and every 10 minutes to fill the tank. Fuck off and uninstall the internet. Enough of your bullshit.

  • @Janusha Dose this mean you can't think of that engine you say we over look and subcontracted means they PAID for it and had begun development before Delphi was involved you asked me to research it and I did I asked you one question and you have no response you are nothing but a troll without a bridge to live under ZR1 is the best car in the world for the money

  • it's been years that Europeans have compared there million dollar cars to the vet and now they are wining about the close race the have over looked our real SUPER CARS COMPLETELY Mosler, areo, revenge verday...the revenge is getting an american hybrid V8 that makes 400Hp.and 500Tq.this engine maid an 80's mustang do 12's in the quarter mile & get OVER 100 MPG America is the leader in engine technology they are predicting 200MPH and over 100MPG in the revenge just wen your behind I slap your face

  • YOU americans compare million dollar cars to the Vette because after all.. What else does USA have. There is the Corvette and thats it. End of the list. The Devon GTX failed because it was really just a redressed Viper. The Stile Bertone is failed because its just a ZR1 with an ugly dress that they want 200 000 dollars for. Now the Revenge Verday. Its a redressed Ford GT which isnt necessarily a bad thing but how about something new. Ill be the first to congratulate if they actually build it.

  • @Janusha Mosler,SSC Areo(only the fastest car in the world) both maid in the USA and I am still waiting on the engine you say is better than the LS3

  • @Janusha Thats because here in the good old US we are making cars (like the ZR1) that pwn expensive Euro cars. Because after all what else do Euros have....o...end of list.

  • There in broke-ass US you make cars "like the ZR1" ? What exactly are you refering to when you say "cars like" What other interesting cars does USA make at all ?

What else comes out of Europe? Seriously... ask google. The fact is there are around 50-60 currently available top end sportscars / supercars out there and only 4-5 are from outside Europe. Hell Ferrari, Lambo, Aston, Porsche all have more models alone than the rest of the world combined.

  • @Janusha Well I wont stray too far off topic here with the Country thing but I will say the US is broke partially due to loaning worthless countries money (not my choice obviously)

Anyways you totally made my point relevant. Read my post again then answer the question. Also if you dont like the Vette why are you watching the video TITLED Corvette ZR1 Build?

  • When you borrows trillions from communists and muslim, its obviously a bad move.

Ive never said I dont like the Corvette. Hell Im not here to discredit USAs only internationally competetive vehicle and I know it is holy. Therefore I shall try not to take its name in vain. You have such faith in this ZEE AAR ONE because it is the only one you got. Then there is the inevitable "bang for the buck" arguement. But consider this. It is beyond a doubt the worst quality car in the world for its price.

  • @Janusha Worst quality in the world? Should'nt that statement be brought with something more than an opinion? Also if you havent noticed I havent bashed on Euro cars, there are alot of great ones...hell theres nothing in this world that sounds quite like a ferrari (to me anyway).

But youre wrong 1)Countries only hand out money when theyre getting something in return 2) there are plenty more competitive American cars than just the ZR1. thats like saying the only good car from EUR is Lambo.

  • Just saying it isnt all its hyped up to be.. Very little out of america is. Corvette is no exception. Just look how the SSC is hyped way beyond its capabilities. Exactly like the Vector before it. Now... Vector turned out to be the worst car ever produced and died in a hailstorm of scandals, recals and financial mess. To my knowledge there are 50-60 supercars out of Europe and 4-5 that are from elsewhere. Now please tell me about these "plenty" compatetive US-cars that I clearly dont know about.

  • @Janusha dude dit u ever heard something abot ford gt (1000-1900)? this one will blow away everthing what comes from europe if i

  • @Janusha

Aren't you that Norrie I humiliated?

  • @Janusha

Either you have selective memory or there's two little Norries who think the Ford GT is European and wish Europe made the Corvette.

  • @Janusha

Janusha: "I like to shoot down my own arguments."

And I thank you for saving me the trouble. But here goes anyway Why do Americans think you care about American cars? Because you do. You admitted to counting American cars on your road trip (considering you think the Ford GT is European, you probably missed a lot of American cars during your count). Then you and every other Eurotard spends more time watching youtube videos about American cars (like this one) than you do European cars.

  • @Janusha

Janusha: "I don't know what a paraphrase is and I'm overly sensitive."

A paraphrase is basically what I just did of you. Like the whole "But only on American cars do I get spammed to death with hate" can be summed up with you just saying you're overly sensitive.

HINT: Quit being retarded and you wont be mocked.

And thanks again for shooting down your previous argument, Norrie (about Europeans supposedly not caring about American cars, yet you bring up 3 Mustangs for no reason).

  • @Janusha

Ironic statement, since the Corvette is the Ferrari what common sense is to religion.

  • @Janusha

Janusha: "I don't know anything about the history of cars or business law."

It's not patriotism that sells American cars. It's American car companies that sell American cars and it's them that are protected by a crazy set of laws over here. It's been that way since the mid 70s, when America was dethroned as the best car maker.

Get over your inferiority complex, Norrie. The Vette isn't superior to cars like Ferrari because of patriotism. It's superior because it's a better car.

  • @Janusha

Janusha: "I have a massive inferiority complex."

America might be the "BEST IN THE WOOOOORLD !!!" , but we didn't get that way by envying people across the other side of the Atlantic, unlike a certain continent. We don't even need to tell ourselves we're the best anymore. Europeans remind us. As for "Euro-validate", that's Euro-retarded. America values the opinions of Japan and Australia before it values Eurabia (there's right hand drive GTs and Vettes for them and none for Europe).

  • @Janusha

Janusha: "I can't tell when I'm being picked on."

I see you have no concept of sarcasm and wit, with your "BEST IN THE WOOOOORLD !!!" being so blatantly mocked.

As I said, we don't need to tell ourselves we're the best. Euros constantly reminds us by gobbling up our culture and asking for more. You've proven that by your obsession with the Corvette, bitching and complaining about how you wish it was European and how you wish you were fortunate enough to have been born American.

  • @Janusha

A dead hippie, a nobody and a proAmerican. Good job, moron. Here's a thought. Listen to Pat Condell, Bruce Bawer, etc. Of course you'd bring up Islam, since it's raping you in the ass. Speaking of which, those flag burning Arabs must be patriotic Yanks for preferring the Vette over Ferrari, right? Or how about the Germans? Or Bertone, who wanted the best and so made a car from a ZR1 chassis and motor, despite being able to have Ferrari or Lotus do it cheaper?

    You're damn done, son.

  • I brought up Islam because when it comes to cars, americans display a desperate fanaticism that only bomb belt wearing ragheads can match.

Haha. doesnt it at some point get embarrassing to hail todays Korean, Mexican, Brazilian cars to the skies simply for carrying the GM badge. I dont see why they deserve your die-hard patriotism. If they were aiming at quality, they wouldnt build it in third world nations. However if they want squeeky cater-for-all plastic for the masses then it makes sense.

  • @Janusha *facepalm*

  • Mass produced rubbish, all made by rednecks!

  • your best Corvettes will never be like our worst Ferrari!

  • @xxxNUCKxxx yeah they'll be better

  • @xxxNUCKxxx your Ferrari would suck without the magnetic suspension that Chevy sell to them Chevy isn't buying anything from them are they this car nibbles the bumper off an Enzo for a tenth the price

  • @sirlonghair True, the Zr1 is cheap because it is a toy for women and children

  • @xxxNUCKxxx what ever it's a luxury street car that is as fast as a thinly disguised race car (Enzo) rides better better sound system inside and out push rods sound bad ass and are bad ass air conditioned room for luggage 21+MPG I easily got 30+MPG in a 1990ZR1 driving from Manhattan to Binghamton N.Y. on interstate 84 very hilly highway CHEVY HEARTBEAT OF AMERICA

  • @sirlonghair Americans do you know a lot of good things but the cars still do not know them by heart

  • Just like with the brakes, GM buys its magnetic ride from an external company. The Enzo is what... 10 years old now.. Grats on catching up.

  • @Janusha GM invented magnetic suspension Ferrari buys it from Chevy the enzo is a race car that needs a pit crew to run and a luxury street car is just as fast with air conditioning and surround sound you just blather on and don't say any truth you can't compare any engine to an Ls3 because there isn't one I like the noble because it's a purest drivers car but it's still a 6 making 600Hp will break before an LS3 making a thousand NAME THIS IMAGINARY ENGINE WE OVER LOOKED

  • Hahahaha Ferrari buys technology from Chevrolet. Amazing stupidity going on here. Ferrari is 2-3 generations ahead. The Ferrari Enzo was THE pinacle of automotive excellence in its day just like the 599 GTO is today. Carbon monocell, millisecond gearing, dual cluth, E-diff, venturi channels, and buying tech from GM haahha oh my god. I need to put that on the wall. A company called Delphi made the magnetic ride. Its not the answer to world hunger, its just a suspension used by many cars.

  • 10 years old Cadillac Seville, Corvette, some Buicks and other GM vehicles as well as some non-US vehicles such as Holden (Australia), Ferrari 599, Ferrari California, Audi TT, Audi R8, and Japanese Acura. and probably many more. All use the exact same magnetic ride system. Which is today owned by China. Its not american, its not the answer to the worlds problems. Its like when they tried to claim Ferrari used GM brakes because Corvette bought the same brakes used in the old Enzo. Hillarious.

  • @Janusha Bull shit Gm developed the magnetic suspension

  • @sirlonghair There is a thing called shutting up when you dont know what youre talking about instead of speaking rubbish and looking stupid.

Or nowdays.. why not ask google for Delphi and magnetic ride suspension.

  • @Janusha I just did and it was GM who had the idea and started the development and subcontracted Delphi to do some of the work so yes it was Gm and GM's money that developed the Magnetic suspension so wear is the engine over looked By me that competes with the Ls3

  • @sirlonghair Hahaha had the idea.. Look. Its all very clever and all that but its getting a bit pathetic to try and hail american steel to the skies over some suspension. Delphi was a subcontractor for GM and a number of other companies but it went bankrupt like many others and bought by the Chinese. Cars are interesting because of the design and new tech. Im not going to get all nerdy and discuss bits and pieces with bewildered flagwaving fools desperate to hail american steel.

  • @Janusha thank you for reminding me putting My flag up right now USA and Chevy all day

  • Good luck with that. Obama just set aside a billion dollars to clean out 90 abandoned GM factories. They are down from 80 000 Michigan workers to 7000. Thats a sign of success right there.

  • @Janusha doing better than toyota

  • actually.. no. Despite the hate campain towards Toyota now they are still not in the red.

  • ALWAYS REMEMBER, ZR1 IS KING!!!!

  • @Janusha did i say in the red NO I said not doing as good as Chevy typical Troll technique twist words ignore truth Chevy is a phoenix rising from the ashes of the 80's you don't live hear and have No idea what an American car is what do you drive a Minny or Honda I have owned Datsun Toyota Chevy ford and delivered cars for private owners I have driven them all you are TELLING ME NOTHING ABOUT CARS

  • You can pick at details and talk all you want about your precious GM. The fact remains that if they had been making good cars, they wouldnt have been bankrupt. They arent rising from the ashes of the 80s. They are bankrupt NOW.. TODAY. For making cheapass cater-for-all plastic for the masses that not even the most patriotic son-just-returned-from-the-war-redneck could get excited over. Even you.. the flagwaving net spammer desperate for US supremacy wouldnt go out and actually buy a GM.

  • @Janusha Fuck you biatch!

    USA #1

  • Have you even driven a GM made car in the past 10 years?...wait...ever? you do realize your babbling nonsense is nothing short of pathetic right?

    1) Get a clue

    2) Go buy a Toyota...Darwinism at its finest.

  • If you could have any car you wanted. Would you pick american ? Didnt think so.

  • ZR1 IS KING!!!

  • @Janusha: Yep I'd pick an american or italian car. In fact I'd pick the higher quality Ultimate Aero over the Veyron, any day. Half of the Veyron's body is aluminum. The Ultimate Aero's body is completely made from carbon fiber.

  • Ofcourse.. Because nobody has ever seen the SSC do anything. Its never been reviewed or properly road tested, its never been under the harsh examination of proper car magazines. So to you it can be the second coming of christ or the answer to world hunger. Just sprinkle it with patriotism as all americans did with the Vector and look what a disaster that turned out to be. Who needs to deal with criticism when you can spin your own little fantasy world and live in it.

  • @Janusha: Actually. It has been. You're just too ignorant to recognize anything thats not in Europe.

  • What.. when Jay Leno kicked its tyres? Or the 10 000 articles all over the net, all quoting eachother, nobody actually having driven it themselves. They are just spreading the spam without question, thrilled to spread the news of american superiority. Seriously... doesnt it get embarrassing. I mean.. is there no end to how far you can stretch the hype before it gets silly. Didnt americans learn anything from the Vector. Was ANY american supercar attempt ever a success?

  • @Janusha: Actually Jay Leno and a few other reviewers as well as professional drivers has done a lot more than that to the Ultimate Aero. But you wont ever find that. You are not smart enough to find research. And you obviously cant do none of your own.

  • Keep clinging to those straws dude.

  • Infact.. instead of being an apocalyptic flagwaver. Why dont you link me a proper review of it. Shouldnt be hard to find as there are so many out there.

  • @Janusha: There are no straws. I'm not the one spotted trolling on every single american car video the way you are. If you dont like a car thats fine. There is nothing wrong with that. However there is no need to be trolling every american branded car video. It does nothing but show your ignorance.

  • @branden1979

Come on dont be silly now. Just link me ONE of these reviews youre talking about so I can finally see some facts about this thing.

  • @Janusha I know I said I'd ignore you, but the irony here is just too great to let go.

Here you are, asking for links to verify someone else's claims....yet I've seen you on SEVERAL video comment pages, refusing to give links to verify your own claims. I believe you once said something along the lines of "if I can find this information, so can you" when asked to provide proof of the bullshit you constantly spout.

Don't bother replying, I've said all I'm going to say to you.

  • Yes that is true. I overstepped my codex just that once.

I have however found somewhere that claims they produced, so far 9 cars of which 2 are showcars to attract customers / investors. Thats 7 sales since 2007. Ive also found evidence that Id like to confirm of lawsuits from various angles concerning fake orders to seem more attractive to investors and lying to Forbes Magazine which turned out to be a federal offense. Stuff like this doesnt inspire confidence. Please do prove me wrong.

  • ALWAYS REMEMBER, ZR1 IS KING!!!!

  • @Janusha yes

  • @Janusha You just cant belieave

  • @xxxNUCKxxx your worst ferrari was beat in a drag race By a GMC truck called a Typhoon

  • @sirlonghair the 308 was soundly defeeted in a drag by a stock GMC truck LOL

  • Keep clinging to those straws dude.

  • can't wait for the C8 Corvette imagine a base Mid engine V8 vet for 60 grand wear else can you get something like that but America then a working man can buy horse power as he can afford it and bolt it on at will something Europeans don't understand you don't have to be rich to tear ass in a vet push rod bow-tie's have 10,000x the racing development of any engine in the world how else do you get 2500Hp. and 2000Tq. out of an ls3 you can get this engine in the mail for 52 grand N.R.E.

  • Its amazing how americans.. hell even Wikipedia claims the ZR1 is handbuilt when you can clearly see it running along a production line being welded and sprayed by robots.

  • @Janusha what ever you say but the GT-r still only just managed to cheet it's way to second place in lap time around the ring even Hennessey GT-r600 with the best tires and coil over upgrades only manages a .97g.that isn't as good as a stock ZR1 Hennessey is bringing the ZR700 to the ring.wanna bet some super cars start eating bow-tie dust John Heinricy is heading the project ZR1 IS THE KING the ZR1 PISSES ON THE GT-r

  • I wont discuss silly one-off tuneshop jobs but I find this new american Ring fascination hillarious. Going to a track in germany with full racecrews and ultra modified vehicles to set a bunch of misleading "records" to spin some desperately needed hype for their Vipers, Corvettes and even Cadillac. Then tell the american public that its an INTERNATIONAL BENCHMARK to kindof Euro-validate their cars.. Well... it isnt a benchmark. The Ring is a public track open to all and a test track. Thats it.

  • @Janusha Hennessey Z700 comes with a factory warranty 100,000 mile and is available to 25 lucky owners as a special limited edition but still available as clones after the original 25 numbered and even limited as it is cheaper and faster than full race cars with turn signals the GT-r is over complicated over weight jap crap

  • Comment removed

  • @Janusha thear is a Hennassey limited number first 25 ZR-700 it's available WITH A FACTORY WARRANTY open your eyes those are vet tail lights ahead of you and than smell is your jap transmission over heating

  • There is no limited edition. If they could sell a car to every household in america, they would. But they cant so they wont. Limited edition in USA simply means a man in a suit from the marketing department simply informed them how many they can expect to sell.

And before you diss Jap crap... Europeans make supercars, Japs copy europeans shamelessly and Americans arent even in the game. They got their tuneshops and thats about it.

  • ALWAYS REMEMBER, ZR1 IS KING!!!!!

  • @Janusha FYI the ZR1 is limited editon, you ignorant Norwegian youtube troll.

GM made 1800 total ZR1's in 2009 and Sold every last one (Consumer Reports)

  • There is no such thing as limited edition in USA. Do you think they can afford to turn people down if they want a car ? Pff.. Limited editions in USA simply means some man in a suit came in and said how many they expect to sell. 500 cars ? ok.. Then tell people its limited to 500 cars. No company ever lied more to their customers than the big 3 american ones. Defending them is like defending white collar criminals that willingly let their company go to hell costing the tax payers 100 billion.

  • @Janusha Last I checked GM made only 1800 ZR1's and sold every last one, the demand was far beyond 1800 but GM only made 1800, that sounds limited to me.

Once again no one is going to give a damn about an anonymous Norwegian troll's opinion, your opinion's are biased and hold little value to anyone, you're a patheic troll who has nothing to do but bash Crovette videos. A car you'll never be able to afford.

  • yes yes yes.. zr1 zr1 fantastic. Raise a flag for it this year too. Its a car. Its not the second coming of christ. Its USAs only good car. Nobody says its crap ok ? Why does it have to be dragged out every single time anyone else makes a performance car. The ZR1 is NOT the international benchmark that everyone aspires to. its just a car. Since it came out, 20-30 other things came out. And USA is still busy hailing their ZR1. Well done.. Good job. Now move on.

  • @Janusha No the main problem is the fact that you have no argument, you always turn to propaganda and anti Americanism to support your claims when your other arguements fail.

Also a ZR1 is still a hell of alot more than what your country has produced, Europe is NOT A NATION, Germany and Italy alone make good cars, irrelevant countries like yours have nothing to do with their prominance.

  • I dont quite see your point here. Every major country in Europe make good cars. They arent restricted to Germany and Italy. Im not arguing who DOES make good cars. Im not suggesting there really is a war for supremacy in the car world. I just find it hillarious when americans hail their steel to the skies and shout BEST IN THE WOOORLD when its not even close.

  • @Janusha GM's loan was paid back with interest

  • And ? Does that make american cars fantastic ? They wouldnt even be in the mess if they build decent cars.

US government now has to pay 836 million dollars!!! to clean up 90 closed GM factories. But congratulations on GMs success then. Raise a flag.

  • ZR1 SMOKES PORSCHE!!!

    ANY PORSCHE!

  • @Janusha G.M. Has Paid It All Back With Interest Thank You

  • And they still produce cheap cater-for-all squeeky plastic for the masses. Congratulations.

It amazes me when bewildered flagwaving fools leap forth fist in the air to defend country and liberty over their cars. The big 3 was run to the ground in the most spectacular display of arrogance and mismanage on a biblical scale. Hundreds of thousands of jobs gone, 100 billion dollars from taxpayers money up in smoke and yet you defend them. Amazing. Truly amazing.

  • @Janusha the push rod small block is the king of engines what engine weighs less produces more power and gas mileage cubic inches don't matter it's about efficiency, dependability, weight and torque name it go on LS3 frome nelson racing engines $52,000.oo for 2500Hp 2000Ft.LBS.Tq did I mention price good luck with this challenge

  • Yeah we should all revert to old american tech. Leafsprings and cast iron frames. Like forexample the Viper engine that americans get all patriotic over. 8.4 litres of truck engine. When it came out only had 400 hp. Must be the laziest engine since the 60s. LESS than 50hp pr litre displacement. Caterham is not an expensive supercar. They deliver a perfectly fine 2.4 litre option with 550 hp. Typically when americans hail their own tech as BEST IN THE WOOORLD they dont even bother to look abroad.

  • @Janusha But since you are so content by talking about the past , then why dont we talk about how shitty Audi was in the 90's, or BMW in the 80's or how about Ferrari's problems in the 60's that almost had Ford buy them out. Point is even the European brands have had their problems but talking about them now is irrelevant.

  • @Janusha

GM still uses OHV engines b/c they're lighter, just as powerful & more durable than OHC engines, OHV's produce more torque at lower RPMS which also translates into MPG's & longevity. OHV engines are also far more easy to maintain & tune.

The Vette has prooven against the best competiton that it's a world class machine that only the hyper expensive can beat. If you can't accept that then this isnt the Video for you.

  • @Janusha that engine is a chain saw engine it don't make any torque and will be useless in 10,000 miles nelsons small block Ls3 will drive to the strip and drag race for 3 years completely street able getting 21MPG your chainsaw engine don't even pull that go cart with that efficiency I'm talking an American car with air conditioning your talking useless go carts an LS3 pisses on the rest of the world

  • That was one out of 100 different options. I spoke to someone claiming the ZR1 engine was BEST IN THE WOOORLD and I said oh really... when was this best-engine-in-the-world-event held then. And it turned out there actually was one. But it was a collection of participants in all american racing leagues that simply got together and decided ZR1 was best... They didnt even look abroad. Thats very typical of most american world records. Like the world series baseball... USA is the only ones doing it.

  • @Janusha then name the engine that is as powerful, efficient and toquey the one from abroad you talk about you haven't named it yet

  • @sirlonghair That's Easy, Look at Lambhorghinis V12 in the LP640 with similar displacement and horsepower as an LS9 in the ZR1.

The LP640's 6.2 liter V12 makes 631 HP and only 490 lb ft of torque.

    Zr1's 6.2 liter LS9 638 HP and 604 lb ft of torque.

The Lambo will also require constant maintence and a tune up every 3000 miles as recogmended by Lambo themselves. The Zr1 you can beat the hell out of it and it will drive home.

  • What the fuck do I care... Im saying sprinkling patriotism over stuff and shouting BEST IN THE WOOORLD over everything american simply because its american is pathetic and doesnt hold up in the real world. I dont care about comparing engines.

  • @Janusha You need to do your reseach on engines before you respond, you're making an ass of yourself.

GM uses the OHV's still b/c Europe's best OHC's still fail to outperform them, an LS9 costs more than your car, and GM has put years of R&D into their engines that make them sufficient to this day.

  • Research on engines ? I dont care about them whatsoever. But Look at the Noble M600. Its got a 6 litre engine with around 600 hp like the Corvette. They dont have much of a budget so they tuned the engine out of a Volvo C90. Like the ZR1 its not a carbon car, no electronics or driving aids. Not even ABS brakes. Yet it took third place at Top Gears leaderboard and pushed ZR1 down to 19. Oh but its a conspiracy isnt it. Because they all hate america so they put it lower to hurt your feelings.

  • Nobody says the ZR1 is shit. There is REALLY no need to wave flags and defend country and liberty. You arent under attack. But the Corvette is just a car. For 3 years now we have been spammed with how it will smoke, kill, rape, destroy everything else as if american cars is what the rest of the world aspires to and wishes they could be. There is no war of supremacy in the car world. Even you bewildered flagwavers.. if YOU could pick any 10 cars NONE of them would be american. Hell even 20.

  • @Janusha The M600 is a kit kar, that's overpriced and overhyped, no one will take tuned Volvo over a Ferrari or Porsche.

Noble is one of GB' many unproftiable kit cars.

  • @Janusha There's your problem you're stuck in the past, Im sorry but Detroit's problems are over excluding Chysler. Ford and GM are now taking back control of the US market (the most important market money wise) and for any European or Jap car you can name in a comprable segment there's now an American one with higher ratings. Sorry but Detroit is back.

  • Detroit is an abandoned ghost town. You need a lethal dose of patriotism not to see that. You seem to think Im on a campaign to hate america. There is no call to defend country and liberty. Im just saying how it is. All those 100 billion the government put into the car industry (when they should have let them die) has to account for something. Im not saying american cars will be shit forever. Im sure they will one day understand that cheap cater-for-all plastic for the masses isnt the way.

  • @Janusha And You need a lethal dose of Rationalization and denial to argue that the American car industry isnt back.

Whether you like it or not, the American car industry is getting stronger with each month, while the Japanese industry continues to slide. Caddilac is right on par with an luxury german brand. Ford is slapping around Honda and Toyota in the US market and profits continue to grow as the American consumer starts to move back to the American option.

  • So youre telling me GM moved back into their headquarters in Detroit and the town is back to business as normal ? Are you telling me Detroit is infact NOT an abandoned ghost town only inhabited nowdays by crackheads and tumbleweed ? One straight answer please.

  • @Greendude33 I agree that the US auto industry is in much better shape than it was in the past. I just wish GM hadn't killed Saturn. I was waiting for a while for them to make a better version of the Aura hybrid to compete with the ugly-ass Prius but that'll never happen. If they bring it back and it gets better than 38 mpg, I'd buy one for sure.

  • @Janusha Both GM and Ford are headquartered in Detroit, Detroit is no ghost town what an incredibly stupid assumption. Detroit is still far more economically proficient than Oslo. So If Detroit is a "Ghost Town" what is Oslo?

Porsche was shit in the 70's and 80's

BMW's quality was pathetic in the 80's

Ferrari almost got bought by Ford in the 60's

Ford owned Jaguar and Aston Martin then sold them to Indian investors.

Audi was almost dead in the 90's.

  • Well it seems GMs HQ is still there alto with a lot less people now days. Simply because they couldnt sell their 600 million dollar house. Last year they had nearly abandoned the building. Put detroit ghost town in Youtube and look.

US government just set aside 836 million dollars to clean out 90 abandoned GM facilities in murda capital. But everything is fine isnt it. Beyond criticism. Search for abandoned Michigan / detroit. I cant believe you live in USA and dont know this.

  • @Janusha OK since they are silly tuneshops. What about Brabus

  • i reckon one in a dark metallic green

  • I will take A ZR1 in Black Plz!

  • and to clarify, yes the new zr1 and the old zr1 are both impressive cars... but the 85 is not.

  • yeah the zr1 competes with the ferrari f430 and other exotcis and the horsepower is just disgusting. it really is a scary car if you drive it bc it can get away from you easily. 630 horsepower isnt a day in the park bud. and being that this is not only new age american muscle, but a super car none the less...dont belive me??...drive it to belive it...they have out done there selves this time....aND THAT IS NO LIE

  • @0spaceboy I have a 1985 Corvette. Stock. Destroys most cars on the road. This ZR1 is a monster.

  • @GuineaJay i know i like the vette i just love pissing gm fans off lol its so fun.

  • @GuineaJay LOL an 85 vette, WOW, what a joke. it destroys most cars on the road? are u kidding me? that BS might work on someone who knows ZERO about cars, but cmon man. bring that 85 vette my way, it wont even beat my 91 Escort GT, GUARANTEED, let alone my Mustang GT. your vette will run a 15.5 on a GOOD day. u do realize that a STOCK 05 V6 mustang will SPANK you??

  • I'm leaning more toward power for money. Maybe a Mustang that's 20 years newer and 20 thousand dollars more would beat it but I certainly would rather have the Vette. As for your Escort.... you're just being a Ford fanboy now. Quote some numbers if you want, the Corvette is just better. Who the hell even wants to be seen in an Escort?

  • LOL-yeah .3 seconds at ONE track where an F1 pilot took hundreds of lap to perfect that time which was arguably modded anyhow. the vette was there a week and was driven by an engineer. wanna know what happens when the same driver is at the controls? Laguna Seca GTR=1:40 ZR1=1:35 streets of willow GTR=1:25 ZR1=1:23 las vegas road course GTR=58 ZR1=56 The ZR1 pisses on the GTR
  • I agree. I like the GTR for what it is and it is arguably the most impressive production sports vehicle Nissan has put out to date. But it is no match for the ZR-1. The Vette is simply in a higher class.

The GTR may be easier to live with and justify as the family sport coupe, but a thoroughbred sportscar.. it is not.

    ZR-1 = For The Win!
