  • I loved this song from the moment I heard it. As a teenager it shaped my ideas of what love was about, something beautiful and intense. It's my favourite song but still an obscure one.

  • Belíssima canção <3

  • amazing duet! very touching, and I always chill hearing this song.

  • Im admittedly humbled by the number of comments and knowing that over 200 000 times this video has been seen here, I can only say thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to post comments and watching.

  • Two exceptional Artist

  • My cats name is Sioxsie Sioux ans she doesn't take shit from anyone!!!

  • splendid, love it!

  • pamaspamas..."the glove" was a colaboration between robert smith and steve severin...siouxsie sioux was not involved !

  • @pamaspamas

um, siouxsie sioux did NOT appear on the glove... have you ever actually heard it? and why would you advise someone to seek out the cassette when it's readily available on cd?

  • Sioux will never take a back seat to Morrissey, he is a child and she is an adult. Sioux would just as soon stab him than allow a sell out in the same recording studio. He is lucky that his lifetime is blessed to have Sioux's voice on that track.

  • @yahoosirius

    what a joke.

    what a poor, poor joke.

  • What's amazing is Morrissey & Siouxsie would pick up on a song most of their fans would never know. The original, as mentioned earlier, was recorded beautifully by Timi Yuro in 1968. Yuro is one of the most under-rated vocalists in history. She could easily be mentioned in the same breath as Aretha Franklin & Dusty Springfield. Watch her live YouTube video of "You'll Never Walk Alone," on Dutch television or to her hit "Hurt." Morrissey & Siouxsie did do an excellent cover.

  • Her name is * S I O U X S I E * !

  • is that miranda richardson?

  • @aliceflowers yep, and Rupert Everett in the film about Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in UK

  • banshees?

  • love it ❤

  • What about when she was @ Kingston in the '70's?

  • Superlative !!!!!SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome song!

    5 Stars!

  • Funny thing is, Morrissey and Siouxie had a falling out over this song. Still not mended.

It was all about who's name would be first.

Morrissey and Siouxie or Siouxie and Morrissey.

Guess we know how that turned out

  • well i read siouxsie's biography, and instead it was a heated discussion on the cover - morrissey insisted on a bulldog, a stereotypical and somewhat dodgy symbol of england, and siouxsie, being opposed to any sort of nationalism, objected.

she left the studio for a drink when someone morrissey sent after her told her the collaboration was over. she, understandingly, thought morrissey was a tosser for not having the guts to tell her himself.

oh well, when queens collide.. the song's nice though.

  • @mrhelterskelter ....Well I know their was some heated discussion about something but .....Morrissey would never put a BULL DOG on a cover if you seen any of his covers ,their not plain.. So The Bull Dog part I think is B.S .... I wish they would have sang this song live would have been awesome hate when artists have a falling out when they just put out a awesome song.

  • @Griff1319 I also heard the same story from the photographer of the famous skinhead girls photo Moz used as a backdrop and t-shirts around Your Arsenal time (which he was never credited or paid for)

  • one of my favorite

  • beautiful song.........

  • i loved this song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fantastic song. they both fit eachothers voices so very well

  • wow i love this, viva la morrisey

    jason hurst

  • Truly a match made in heaven... <3

  • Non vedo l'ora che arrivi il 14 luglio... concerto storico al Velvet di Rimini di questo grandissimo DIVO!

  • da campionare i primi 33 secondi XD

  • Siouxsie has such a powerful voice, I can't think of any other singer that would compliment the beautiful Moz as well.

  • This came out around 1994,and scraped into the high 30's if I remember rightly, shame excellent song.

  • I doesn't get more awesome than this.

  • This is beautiful. Their voices compliment each other well.

  • the best duet ever...classic, love it...

  • I think Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue did a great job as a duet too - hm?

  • you bet your arse they did. super duper song that

  • awesome.

  • so this is how it goes. two great singers on a duet that is so beautiful. who knew they could sing such a great song.

  • Whoa...What a duet, two totally different vocals yet combined so beautifully.........

  • So then, is this involved in the fued between Robert and Morrissey?

    Did Robert ever love Siouxsie?

  • This song isnt his worst. Yeah it's a bit slow but listen to the lyrics! They're the best thing about this song.

  • what are you talking about, this is a great duet

  • please do not comment again unless you know what the hell your talking about.

  • This is the very first time I'm listening to this wonderful duet!

As always, Mozz is one of the best artists ever been walked on the face of this troubled and miserable planet!

  • I was reading some news items on the internet and there was an article about the best/worst duets. This was I think one of the top 5 BEST duets. The paragraph made mention about how polar opposites the two artists are yet what a great song came out of them.Never heard of this song or the two singers. Had to hear it, and I like it.Very haunting.

  • One of the most moving Mozz tunes ever! Who said it was the worst? So wrong.

  • This is my wedding song... I LOVE IT!

  • when was your wedding?

  • 29th August 2007..

  • i play this song often....its perfect

  • ~~~~~So Beautiful ...

  • The worst Morrissey song ever by about four hundred million miles...

  • Timi Yuro's version is much better...

  • THIS IS GREAT.

I did not know that a duet version of 'Interlude' exists. These two did real justice to it, too.

The almighty Timi Yuro would have been proud and happy.

  • super duo!!! magnifique

  • wow, two British legends...

  • wow wtf. Morrissey and Siouxsie Sioux? FUCKING AWESOME!!!

  • Simply one word left to say: brilliant

  • beautiful song. her voice is soo low though! but interesting

  • Not only two of the greatest singers from one of the greatest era's ever, but the most instantly recogizable voices ever. Which is a rare quality nowadays.

Great song too, should've been a bigger hit.

  • not sure why no radio station is playing the song. should have been on daily rotation on progressive stations.

  • I wanted them to play this at 02 wireless festival both appeared on the same day it would of been great but it wasn't to be its a timeless classic

  • The reason they probably didn't was that they fell out, I think, just after recording this song.

  • Timi Yuro sings on the film soundtrack..

and it´s simply amazing! What a voice..

  • Is this the official video? If not is there one?

  • Ruth Ellis Story (the Film )

  • How is it that I've never heard this song???

  • so beautiful

  • Two of the greatest singers ever. This is too much for me to handle...

  • it's too much to handle because they are both Gemini's 2x2=4 lol

  • bitter sweet

  • Miranda Richardson

    Rupert Everet

DANCE WITH A STRANGER [1985] - Dir. Mike Newell

  • that is the movie from which this video is derived????

  • Yes. I recognise the movie and the actors... but saw it so long ago... can´t really remember the song in it.

  • some one just put the two together on their own ,it appears

  • Beautiful!

  • fantastic!!!!

  • They werent intending for a matched vocal harmony, its obvious that they both have very distinct vocals.i think they show how two real persons would sound if they were singing two each other from across a distance and yet singing the same song.xo

  • Walked up the aisle to this song. Not on my own obviously.

  • Theres a longer version of this, with really deadly (amazing) strings at the end. Haven't heard it in years...

  • You can find it if you find the CDS of this song. The CD single has three versions..this one..the extended version and an instrumental version

  • Nice one VeryBadGuy. I will seek that out...

  • I lol'd irl the first time I ever heard this song when it was released.

I loved Morrissey and Siouxsie, but this had me in hysterics,Dunno why...

  • I haven't been abl eto find this song on any Cd

  • It's on Suedehead: The Best of Morrissey

  • thank you very much

  • It's also on my LimeWire shared files if you want it for free ;)

  • THAT'S ILLEGAL!

  • What's illegal?

  • They should not sing together, because it doesn´t match.

Apart they are brilliant. Love em both.

  • I like the way they're voices don't really mesh well. It's different from most duets in that way, and makes for a more intriguing sound.

  • I agree. Both have amazing voices but they don't match very well together. It would have been better if Morrissey did this one on his own but Souxie's voice did kind of add a 1950's quality to the song which was well matched with the video's black and white format.

  • It's Siouxsie

  • singing you mean

  • Best song ever...

    Thanks for the video...

  • Love this song feel like saying its one of best ever so i did..

  • Really romantic

  • I love this song...listend to it for years. how true the words are when meeting someone new. you get used to eachother then it goes sour..... ;¬(

  • In an alternate reality I am the love child of Siouxsie & Morrissey.

  • this song is just magnificent

  • Este video y la cancion son hermosos igual que Morrissey!!!

  • i love this video

  • Magnifica letra, en general Sioux y Morrisey realizaron un gran trabajo!

  • well, it's ten over ten years old now, so the dollar bin isn't really insulting at this point. honestly, if you're going to be insulting, make sure you're effectively insulting.

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful duet. I just got shivers all over listening to it!

  • This song is pure bliss! The most haunting of voices with the smoothest of voices!

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs ever!

  • Yes, it really is :p

  • woow its beautiful wonderful...and its so cool that those punks sings in that way

  • the song is beautiful.. morrissey and siouxsie sing wonderfully

  • Their voices work so wonderfully together. Love them so much, it's a shame there was only one song.

  • ohmygod!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this video, johnnydapunk. Morrissey and Siouxsie have great chemistry!

  • Awesome combination.

  • 'tis a poignant song indeed :)

  • A ballad to beautiful hair styles in silhouette?

  • soooooooo beautiful

  • Amo esta rola....es lo mejor...Morrissey and Siouxie...la mejor convinacion...musica..letra...voz...morrissey..morrissey..una vez mas morrissey...un genio y un dios

  • There's a very spooky story about this duet.

It has to do with Princess Diana's death!

    Do a Google search for

    "Interlude, Princess Diana"

and then click on the result titled

    "The Diana-Morrissey Phenomenon".

    Prepare to be freaked out!!!

  • I was quite absorbed by David's theories initially - but having become interwoven more with Morrissey's lyrics personally myself, in a way the 'Diana-Moz Phenom' guy can't comprehend - I'm sure he's simply fillng in lonely time.

  • I agree. That man has way too much time on his hands.

  • 1 song together is certainly not enough.

  • Tommy Trinder and Irene Handl did a fantastic version of this; it's well worth checking out....

  • k maravilla!!!!!!!

aun me trae recuerdos de los buenos momentos k he pasado en mi juventud...

    I LOVE MOZ

  • Could be... the beginning of love...

  • This song is so true..

  • Beautiful song. The vocals are perfect with the music. Good video! :D

  • beautiful but hopeless and depressing...

  • This wasn't really an official video made specifically to promote "Interlude", was it?

It looks like a montage from the 1985 film "Dance with a Stranger" written by Shelagh Delaney. The story is very much "Boy Racer" from Ruth Ellis's point of view.

  • This song was originally recorded by Timi Yuro in the 1960s as the theme to a film called Time.

  • yes... by the way, is Moz gay ?

  • well the opinions are divided. many people who don't know him at all think he is; on the other hand, he seems to think he isn't. So... decide for yourself who knows better. ;)

  • Wikipedia says his asexual

  • the million-dollar question! he`s got a 12-year-old son, if that means anything at all...

  • Gossip time! I heard the rumour about Morrissey's "son" a while ago, but that time he was supposed to be a teenager or in his early 20s... or maybe there is more than one ;) :p

  • actually I reached the conclusion that he`s got a son after reading the lyrics of "I want to see the boy happy" and reading his declaration on the cover of a "Q" magazine which read "Yes, I`m pregnant" (1996), but it is just something I think...the source being totally unreliable...sorry!

  • LOL thanks for the explanation. No wonder that there are so many Moz rumours, most of the time they start that way ;) :D

  • lovely babies.

  • for a moment there I thought that was moz and souxie making out : S

  • But imagine how cool Siouxie and Morrissey's babies would be :)

  • LOL I think Budgie might object to that ;)

  • WTF IS BUDGIE?

  • nobody special, just Banshees' drummer / Siouxsie's husband ;)

  • Sadly, Siouxie & Budgie have now split, but she still looks and sounds amazing at 50!

  • 50! Wow! She's still as hot as a firecracker!
